  • Review starts at 8:26 - Here's my review and sound examples of the excellent, affordable Yamaha APX600 acoustic-electric guitar. For the money I find this to be a feature-rich, highly playable and sweet-sounding instrument. I think it would be an excellent choice for the musician who wants to perform in a praise and worship group in church. It would be excellent for any kind of performing opportunity. Sounds great strummed or finger-picked. Features include:
    • Thinline Cutaway Body for Exceptional Playability
    • 25" Scale Length and Narrower String Spacing for Enhanced Comfort
    • Bracing Pattern for Increased Bass Response
    • Abalone Sound Hole Rosette
    • Stage-Focused Pickup System for Shaping Your Sound in the Mix

I've been watching several reviews of this Yamaha and I must say yours was the best @Tony Lee Glenn. I loved the numerous recognized tunes and melodies you were playing. I was looking at one of these or possibly an Alvarez in the same price range, an after this review I'm leaning towards the Yamaha. Of course I'm a beginner, but hope to play as well as you some day. Thank for taking the time to put this review together.

Nice review! Going to pick one up tomorrow. The slider on it that you were wondering about adjusts which frequencies the mid knob affects.

I had its baby brother the APXT2 for awhile. It also sounded great plugged in had a fast neck and was about as small as my baritone ukulele. Not a great acoustic strummer, but a great beach guitar. Might try the 300 one day, but am consumed right now learning the mandolin. Love your channel.

I had a Yamaha APX600 for several years and it was recently broken. I've been on the market for a new acoustic with electronics (maybe with a bit of a better quality), but I come back to reviews for this to reminisce. There's no feeling like playing your first acoustic when it's as good as this one.

Love the sound of the acoustic-guitar. I think its awesome that you bless someone. God bless you for that. Yamaha makes great instruments. Just recently order a Yamaha bbne2 bass guitar. Cant wait to receive it.

Really appreciate you watching and commenting. Yes - it's going to be great to hear the young lady playing this in a service. My hands - yes, I guess they are big - - I'm a 6'-2" old-school farm boy. That kind of upbringing made me big and chunky!

I've just started using my APX600. The action seems a bit high and the strings are on the thick side, so I got some lighter strings and will be shaving the back bridge down a bit. Hoping it doesn't get too loosey-goosey.

I only have to other options...
      1) Replace batteries an make sure that they face the correct way
      2) Turn up wolume and position low, mids and high at 12 O'clock
I that doesn't help you need to checj the electronics using a multimeter or take it to a professional repairperson

Been playing acoustics and electric for 4 decades. To me, this sounds like a "beginners" guitar. Tony Lee Glenn is an excellent player. However, even he can't seem to make this sound like anything other than a beginners guitar. I can understand why he recommends this instrument for Praise and Worship sessions. Vocals are always the loudest sound you'll hear. You don't really hear the guitars in this type of music. Listening to Tony play this guitar reminds me of how my fingers would hurt when I was taking guitar lessons on those cheap old rental Harmony acoustics. I would recommend putting the money you are going to pay for this guitar, and invest in a nice, used, older Epiphone acoustic. From my experience, these new acoustics, no matter what name you're looking for, do not stand up to the quality of the older acoustics.

@@7thheaventruth To each his own, dude. In case you didn't know, more hits have been created on Epiphones than any other guitar. That's why I always have my 12 string always by my side. From the price point of view you CAN'T go wrong with this Yamaha. When you're a serious song writer, I recommend putting the extra bucks out on an older Epiphone.

Yo truth dude - I have $18,000 in a vintage Gibson Les Paul and 5 Epiphone vintage 12 string acoustics. Also have 5, 1960's combination of electric guitars. Not certain what my Fender is worth at the moment.
