Come and join me as I explore this magnificent new exhibition 'Donatello: Sculpting the Renaissance' at the Victoria and Albert museum in London. Featuring over 50 works that have never been seen in the UK before, this exhibition is a truly once in a lifetime opportunity to get a total overview of the early Renaissance master and to stare into the eyes of some wonderful scupltures.

Hermosa exposición y muy bien filmado y didáctico el video
¡Gracias por ver!
Looks like a fantastic exhibition which I would love to see. These walk through are great is you live outside London as I do.
Fantastic!
A great show! Thank you for watching.
Thank you it was beautiful
So glad that you enjoyed it. A wonderful exhibition.
Thank you for the vlog. Interesting, that I was drawn to his reliefs...more than sculptures. Maybe because his sculptures have got a lot of attention and I think reliefs are understated!
That is interesting. They are understated and the exhibition puts the sculptures front and centre. Did you like the stiacciato? So delicate.
@@artgalleryexplorer Yes, incredible mastery of tools and material!
I went to this exhibition last week. I thought it was wonderful.
I went early in the day so missed the crowds. However, I did think it was a very well laid out exhibition in that there was lots of space to accommodate people so you didn’t feel too cramped in. I like you spent the best part of three hours which is a very long time for me.
Iam fairly sure I will be returning.
Oh fantastic. You were so lucky to go without the crowds. Do you agree it is a once in a lifetime exhibition? I will hope to be back too and follow your lead by getting there early because it was PACKED when I went - a sign of a good show when you still love it despite the crowds. Thank you for watching and commenting.
@@artgalleryexplorer Hello again, I would definitely agree with you that it is a once-in-a-lifetime time exhibition.
I will tell you a little story. I was lucky enough at the age of 14 to go on a school trip to Florence (I am now 66). My overriding memory is being taken to see St George by Donatello and being totally impressed /overwhelmed by the fact that St George had a furrowed brow and I could tell he was really worried about fighting the Dragon!that began my love affair with Donatello sculptures which continues today.
@@sharronskingle6884 What a fantastic experience. It is wonderful that such a memory can inspire a passion which threads through life and just shows the power of great art.
When I went there was hardly anyone there...
@@robertedwards3654 That must have been a very special experience.
Without the Bargello David = outrageous! You might enjoy Dolcedo Art of the Thunderbolt 2 vids + the BBC film The Lost Genius.
Thank you for the recommendations. It was a real pity they couldn't get the real Bargello David.
