Chong Khneas floating village is located a distance of approximately 16 km from Siem Reap.Located in the South of Siem Reap, Chong Khneas is a floating village that has been here for about 300 years with over 1000 families living by fishing. Like other floating villages, people here live in houseboats. They build the floating markets, boat docks, schools, clinics and create a village throughout this 1,042 sq mile lake. Because the water levels in Tonle Sap Lake can rise or fall seasonally, all activities of local people are also affected. Coming here, you will have an opportunity to explore the features of floating houses, the distinctive way of life from Khmer, Muslim and Vietnamese people.
