I love how Raiden transitioned from hated to beloved, right when Kojima made him a cyborg ninja in MGS4.
that also had the benefit of making MGS2 raiden (who was already a good character) better with it's existence, then you throw rising in the mix and you got a character that's second to solid snake and big boss when people think metal gear
This is how you make a characther be his own thing without taking the place of a beloved characther (in this case Solid Snake) even if people didn't like it at the start, like Jason Todd being Red Hood in DC
I would love that characthers in Marvel like Riri Wiliams, Khamala Khan, Miles Morales, etc.....could do it too

If only Bare-Handed were to be an actual weapon in the game and not just exclusive to the Armstrong fight, that would've been cool.

@@dalelumina3 Eh, it's cool but it still isn't quite the same. I feel like the unarmed moveset mods mostly just turn it into an invisible short-ranged sword, which honestly is kinda boring. The unarmed style from the actual game had some interesting unique quirks to it. The attacks might be slow and short ranged compared to sword attacks, but are also much better at breaking through enemy blocks and parries, and you can chain punches and kicks alternatively for an endless combo (these two combined easily cheese through custom cyborgs).

I agree. Castlevania Lords of shadow is a very underrated game, lots of beautiful locations and battles with bosses, it's worth going through if you haven't tried it yet.

Thank you for uploading this. I'm always mesmerized by the job the animation team did but I never have time to appreciate it because I'm being attacked. These are some sick animations.
I love that Raiden's unarmed kick combo is so similar to his flying tumble kick from MGS2. Defensive Offense is also the move he used to kill Solidus

I love how there are several DMC-inspired movement on Raiden. Like when he doing Dante's pole attack on his polearm, or even Cerberus's moveset with his polearm.

I personally like the pincer blade infinite enrg wig combination, i use it to fight the "metal gear" right before armstrong and i shred that thing's legs in anout 5 minutes or less

Help i don't understand how do the upgrade move of high frequency blade
(It did do a few things right, some great boss battles, sound engineering, a few great character designs) This game.... it had huge potential. But... it definitely fell short. Really curious about what the original game concept could have been, especially if it had way better locomotion controls that weren't automatic with open maps like mgs5. I mean, mgs revengeance has a bunch going for it but it has a lot going against it too. I also really dislike that raiden is wearing heels it's onl cool when he uses his feel as sword holding weapons.
Basically if they combined this with a game called Prototype 2, it would be way more fun. It's still very pleasing for any fan of cyborg ninja / raiden in the mgs series to play as because the combat is ok, it's mainly the overly automatic locomotion and seemingly boring C rated level designs with a few being cool.
After Konami releases the remaster of the iconic mgs4, it would be great if that greedy company would release a canonical mgs rising as was being originally developed but got scrapped.
I'm STILL dissapointed that mgs5 didn't give raiden his sword OR the ability to quick jump onto higher platforms. What a waste.

For some reason the final combo for the pincer blades don't work
When you realise that Raiden can lift and throw a Metal Gear Ray high up in the air but is super slow while using the Pincer Blades
I think because instead of speed
He uses power and brute force with pincer blades
So he can end things quicker

It's a shame that Konami and Kojima had an ugly break-up. In an altenate universe, we probably would already have 3 Metal Gear Risings by now. If PG eventually went through the effort of giving Bayonetta a 2-hour long moveset with demon summons, I wonder how Raiden's moveset would have evolved in the sequels. He probably could have ridden Blade Wolf into battle, similar to how the twins do with the Beast Legion in Astral Chain.

It's good for quickly getting past enemies, but not for combos.

FF15 moveset video is good idea. I think I'll need to try the FF15 Debug Mode first, If I'm not wrong the Debug mode let you go into battle mode without having to actually fighting an enemy. If it really work as I intended then I'll make a video of FF15.
