I love this so much. Nathan is truly such a talented person. The way he asked Matthew to stand by him just shows how much of a class act he is. I also am in love with the fact you can tell that Matthew is so proud of him and genuinely happy for him. Ugh I love it!
I'm here for the superb, the unique...Nathan Lane ^^. love him. Nathan Lane is a fantastic actor, he's so awesome in every genre he plays (Iceman Cometh, The Birdcage, Mouse Hunt, The Nance, People V OJ Simpson, City Of Angels). He derserve more award, yep. Is so Underrated in Hollywood (movie or tv show), shame Hollywood, shame !
DAME EDNA: And the lucky person who will accept this personally warmed Tony Award is… (open envelope) NATHAN LANE! NATHAN LANE: (grabs Broderick’s hand) You’re sharing this moment with me, and I’m not accepting “No” as an answer!
before the producers opened on Broadway Mel brooks decided to preview the show in germany. and everyone surrounding brooks was nervous. but the Germans loved it and gave the show a standing ovation... brooks was stunned. so anyhow. so the producers was previewing in new york. brooks was asking people what they thought. he was met an American couple and he asked the lady what she thought and the lady said I loved it but my husband didn't like it as much. so Mel brooks asks the husband what he thought and the husband said it was unfunny and a total disgrace to Americas war effort. he looked at Mel brooks and said what do you do during the war Mr brooks...and Mel brooks glared at him and said I fought for my country during world war 2 and saw front line battle during world war 2. what did you during the war?
Nathan Lane is just hilarious and wonderful in every perfect way.

I can just listen to Nathan Lane talk, and imagine Timon or Spot talking in real life when I hear him!
God thank god Nathan Lane/The Producers was that year. Imagine some other poor actor that might have had to give a speech after the legend Dame Edna

Do you know if the preview was in English or in German?
Such a funny crack about Matthew Broderick's baby face. I saw this. Pure heaven.
Till now Timon still there for Simba
That's My Dad Is Nathan Lane
I hate Dame Edna.
I absolutely adore Dame Edna with a huge passion!
Tom Shea - Perhaps you would like another of Barry Humphries characters better. Sir Les Patterson might be more to your taste.
@@sandrastone7019 Does he make every got damn thing about himself in every other character?
I am indifferent about Dame Edna.
