At 04:09...In Thailand, alcohol cannot be sold at stores between 2pm to 5pm, and that is why the employee is putting up a screen that explains the law. She was not being rude by blocking the alcohol. The reason for this sale ban is to prevent high school students from buying alcohol after they finish school between 2pm and 5pm. By 5pm, the students should be home with their parents doing homework. Yeah, right! The sale ban does not apply to restaurants, hotels, and bars. It's not very likely that a high school student will visit these places.
That is interesting. You do see a lot of high school kids around that time. Thanks for sharing.
I like your video even though I live in Bangkok, the way you admired the little family that runs a restaurant is just really nice. Keep up your nice attitude brother!
Thank you for the kind words and thank you for watching.
i like your channel i'm thinking about moving to thailand or indonesia since canada sucks now@@RyanShanePalmer
is pattaya still one of the cheapest places? @@RyanShanePalmer
Depends what you are looking for? I could be wrong, but I think cost of living is cheaper in Bangkok@@user-wt5jc6nb9b
Thanks for watching@@user-wt5jc6nb9b . I would always recommend someone moving to Thailand. You wont regret it.
Thanks for the video Ryan, hope you are doing well👍
Cheers mate, I am doing well.
Great information. Well done video. You have me wanting to make the move.
You should! you wont regret it.
Always some classic dry humour, I come back to Melbourne for a few weeks and pay 9 x for dinner, but hey it makes you appreciate Thailand more
Yeah I was in Sydney airport last month. $16 for a panini haha.
I'm new viewer and glad to fund you channel,
Thanks for watching.

I think I met you at the Chiang Mai bus station one morning. You were going to Soi 6. Take care, safe travels
Not sure that was me, but safe travels.
Great video, I just found your channel. Seriously thinking of moving to Thailand. Do you know if you need to be vaccinated to get into the country? If you know. I'm Canadian.
You should, you won't regret it. No I don't think you to be vaccinated anymore, but I would check before moving here.
นี้และเมืองสวรรค์คับประเทศไทย❤😊
Nice video Ryan. Which part of Thailand are this cost of living?
Thanks mate, this is Bangkok.
Seems like your basic consumables are at least 50% less expensive than here in California USA.... Street food is 1/4 the cost of Thai food here as well..
Cell phone is 1/2 easily $50.00 / month unlimited data calling
If you stay away from Bars and nightclubs... a person can live in Thailand for $1000.00 no problem and be healthy and fine. Great job showing the real side of living abroad...
Thanks for watching.
Well, only if you're a privileged first world country citizen with money earned from a first world country economy like US. Try being from a place like Myanmar. Most people's salary can't cover even if you live on streets and eat only one meal a day.
Wow teabags are expensive, here in the UK I can get 250 for about the price of 15 there.
I know you can get them cheaper up North, but it is expensive in Bangkok.
Dude I live in Los Angeles and the cost of living is...
Haha New Zealand is he same. I am very grateful to be here.
Hello,
Is BTS Skytrain free for Senior (60 up) people ?
Thank you so much.
I think so. You may want to double check though.
Hi Ryan, what are Your total average monthly costs? ( assuming You stay in Bkk and not travelling).
Depends. I would say around $500 - $700. Sometimes more sometimes less.
Great video thanks
@@simonakers4381 Thanks
My friends bring me tea bags over from the Uk, miles cheaper than the imported over and aold in Bkk.
Smart move
@@RyanShanePalmer I get a year's worth of Yorkshire tea bags . I'm off to the UK late September and will be restocking.
Thai life its great im thinking to move there, i went there in 2018 as a tourist and it was love at first sight with the siamese energy and i think the cost of living depends on the area so thats why i think its a good idea to learn the thai language.
By the way how long have you been in 🙏🏻🇹🇭 what visa do you use to stay in thailand?
You should, it is a great life. I have been here for 2 years and having a working visa.
You remind me of NZ mma fighter Dan Hooker
😂👍 he had a good win yesterday.
Jim Beam costs as much as an oil change?!?! Buy beer i guess :)
😂👍
They say its cheaper eating out!x
It is a lot cheaper and more convenient.
Is retirement there viable under 700 us dollars a month? Really like your video's..great perceptions..
Zachariah, its depending on what you want from retirement, if you are dull like me, you will be okay, I saw a Room for < 200 a month and then insurance. I know you can survive on $10 a day USD. Decide if you are a city, country or Beach person.
I agree, it depends what you want. But for $700 USD you can afford a simple life here.
@@RyanShanePalmer
I'm a duller..not into partying. saw you washing a elephant in one of your shorts video. Simple life is what I need at this stage in life. Ride my scooter & interact with commoners. Is there a network of English speaking in this area?
@@zachariahlee3393 sounds awesome. There are English speakers everywhere and the overall Thai English ability is good (compared to other Asian countries). I think the north would appeal to you, Chiang Mai/ Chiang Rai. A 30min drive in any direction and you are in the countryside among the villages.
@@RyanShanePalmer
Thanks alot for all the great info & videos. Keep it Cool
You are work there i hear you say..what type of work do you do if that's not too forward to ask?
I am an English Teacher. Easy Work haha
@RyanShanePalmer Do you have a TESL or TESOL certification, or are either type accepted to work in Thailand? I have a teaching certification in the U.S., but not specifically in English, nor do I have TESL or TESOL certification. I am thinking about making the move from the west, even if it is only for a trial run to see if Thailand is somewhere I would consider retirement in the medium to distant future, nor have I ever visited Thailand. I currently live a fairly spartan lifestyle as it is (perhaps slightly above your modest lifestyle, but not crazy partying, sparing perhaps 3-4 nights per month), mostly due to circumstances rather than choice, so another question I would have about potentially teaching English in Thailand would be what to expect in the way of the salary range to teach in Thailand? If I worked at a school, would I be able to supplement my income through a tutoring source? What amount of money (in USD) would you consider to provide a "comfortable" living per month for a single male, including transportation costs, as I would not want to purchase, nor rent, a car or motorbike. And lastly, knowing the Thai language would be of paramount importance, so other than immersion as the best option, do you have a recommendation for the best way to learn the basics, up to the conversational level, of Thai before entering the country? I have been eyeing either Bangkok or the Pattaya areas as a landing spot, but I am open to suggestions that allow for the affordability and "fun" that Thailand appears to offer. I enjoy the content and wish you the best of luck on your journey!
@@Justmeagain-ec3wz Hey mate you don't need 120hr TEFL to work as a teacher here you just need a university degree (visa requirements). If you go through an agency you will start around 35000bhat a month, but once you are here you can go to private schools and get a salary of around 50000bhat. For a single male you can live a comfortable life but don't expect to save much money. Regarding language I would look around CZcams for lessons or perhaps find some books Both Bangkok and Pattaya are good options, but it depends what you want. Chiang Mai/ Chiang Rai are awesome. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching.

dude that last meal you ate would run me about 8 bucks here how ridiculous lol another reason i am moving in Feb
Yeah, I recently went to New Zealand and the prices were insane. I am happy to be here.
Phuket expensive. I dont know why.
Tourist area
Mate put it in our currency as well your no American plenty volgers already doing that theres heaps of kiwis visting living have been or have family over there so it would be better if you put up prices in nz dollars as well be proud even though a nzd is only about 21 baht i remember when i first went and a nzd was 15 baht 1991:then in 1997 or 98 it went up to 31 thats wS good and we used to one of the few countries who got a 3 month visa on arrival 😊
Haha I would like to, but 90% of my viewers are from the US. Mate I wish it was still at 31 😂
เฮี้ยช่วยลองกาแฟซองหน่อยของเบอร์ดี😅
😂👍
CAN YO MAKE IMPLANTS ON BOLD HEAD? HOW MUCH?
Of course. Probably about $5000
So basically I pay 200 bucks a month for rent and the rest is spent on soap and beer plus eating out
Yeah haha
What's the best website to find the types of accomodation you give tours on?
Ask the locals, they know all the best landlords.
