Babe wake up, Forgotten Ancient Civilizations Part 4 came out.
No sleep
Wow, the same joke that's at the top of every video. Just go back to saying "first"..
Thanks babe, I'm wide awake now.
Babe, we need to sleep again, forgotten ancient civilizations part 5 hasn't came out yet.
You know you ain’t got no babe calm down, player 😅
We're so back
its so not over. the pharaoh nerd has risen
Wvrv sv bvck
It's amazing to think Celts and Italics aren't just culturally and genetically related, but also linguistically, to the point many modern linguists like to put them into a same language branch, the "Italo-Celtic languages".
The Romans and the Gaulish were actually cousins, despite killing each other lol
Yeah, I hadn't known that before researching the Urnfield Culture and the Proto-Villanovans, so it was fascinating to learn!
The Romans are essentially Hellenized barbarians civilizing other barbarians
I love that you're taking time to go into all of these civilizations in detail and not just briefly going over what wikipedia says. Your passion and effort really shines through, keep it up!
Thank you so much, I'll certainly try!
We are going to the depths of the iceberg today, bois!
.......life must be good
Babe wake up, a new Forgotten Ancient Civ video just dropped
the mitanni always remind me of the trial version of Age of Empires, in which you play as the Hittites and your enemies are the Mitanni. Thanks to that game and a few books within my reach I developed a keen interest in ancient civilizations from like the first grade in school! Also thanks to you for taking the time to make these videos, which I greatly enjoy!
Wow, it's awesome that you got into ancient civilizations that early - I think I first got into it from seeing Raiders of the Lost Ark and reading picture books with mummies in it at around the same age lol
Damn, I remember Age of Empires, used to play it all the time as a kid, does anyone remember Empire Earth?
📢📣We want mummies iceberg!!!🔔🔔🔔
Fun fact: in the 90s Arkaim became a center for SpiRItuAL people in Russia and now it's more known not like an archeological heredity but the place for believers in alternative history with all-mighty proto-russians and their wars with reptiloids😂
Lmao that's actually pretty interesting, thanks for telling me!
Pls do a mega cut when you finish the series; btw I’m loving it! Keep up the good work
Thank you!
dose mega cut mean covering each of these in the list or i dont understand something?
@@Gavirldseries342 I might create a mega cut compiling every video in the series so far, but I'll set up a poll first to see if you guys actually want one first.
@@thepharaohnerd7235 another question
was Ebla included in any episode of this series? I Known it wasnt really a civlization but more of a city but they are still fascinating
@@Gavirldseries342 I think Ebla is pretty interesting, but unfortunately I didn't add it to the iceberg back when I was making it last fall. I might cover some of the interesting civilizations I didn't cover there in separate videos though, so maybe I'll cover the one day!
Need that out of place iceberg ASAP
I'm glad you're excited - I'm on it!
This is the best CZcams series I've found in years
That's high praise, thank you!
we eating again with the episode 4 of my favorite iceberg
That's high praise, thank you!
The enthusiasm you have for these topics seeps into the video and it's obvious in your voice :).
Desperately interesting stuff, I wouldn't have known about any of these before, entirely new to me.
Thank you so much! I didn't know anything about these cultures before doing research for this video, so I'm glad we got to learn some new things together.
Dude, I forgot about this and suddenly a megalith video triggered my memory
27:17 imagine going to get some ancient mexican popcorn and coming back to your seat and seeing your favourite player getting cut up with rocks
Lmao hilarious
Oh yeah, we getting out of Jericho with this one
the urnfields are a crazy huge civ considering the time and how far their goods and soldiers spread
Yeah, it's a shame that they're so underrated.
@@thepharaohnerd7235ironically the most influential ancient cultures are the most forgettable for being outshone by their descendants
@@Ninja1Ninja2 Good point
@@thepharaohnerd7235without the urnfields it seems all of western civilization would have never existed. in spite of being extremely ancient and most likely very much a society by warriors for warriors they preempted the migrations and advancements that would seed the population centers of western and eastern europes civilizations.
@@Ninja1Ninja2 Great point, especially since they're so intimately tied to the rise of the Celts and the Latins.
BEST iceberg EVER
Another great, well researched video
Thanks a lot!
I'm glad you liked it, thank you for watching!
You are a modern saint. May your forefathers gaze upon you with pride and acceptance and grant you good luck in your endeavors in life, whatever they may be. Loads of well-earned gratitude from Finland!
Wow, that's quite. compliment, thank you! I'm glad to know that I have viewers all the way in Finland!

Oh, I'm so early. Love you for this. I absolutely love all your icebergs.
This is some of my favorite content on youtube, it really deserves more attention!
If I could give any constructive feedback it's to put time stamps and to slow down the narration a bit.
I'll put the time stamps in right away
Dumbledore would wear these hats
Im Mixteco from Oaxaca, our pueble has a few pyramids and houses that hasn’t been found officially

Thank you!😅
This will cover my lunchtime video need for this weekend, thanks!
Awesome, I'm very picky with what I watch when I eat so I'm honoured that you've chosen my video for that!
@@thepharaohnerd7235 Bro wtf you replied just as I was eating and watching the video. Stop with this black magic I swear
The urnfield culture worshipping the sun makes me think: Does that mean all the proto european circular symbols (celtic symbols included) are just representations of the sun?
goated vid broski
Absolutly fascinating!
We are so back, boys!
HECK YEAH, PART FOUR 🎉
this is an awesome series!!!!!
Thank you!
That was great 👍 Thanks 👏
Excellent!
Expected this to just be another Wikipedia reading slop channel when I first got recommended but tbh this vid very pleasantly surprised me good work !!
Just finished watching part 3 and, there he is
Tushratta "Naggin' Wife"
also nice diction and good pronunciation. would listen again just for the speech after bearing so many 'aynglis ayksen' videos i feel refreshed
Check out the giant fort of Solodurum, todays Solothurn in Switzerland. They got a great preservation of that style of europes older ways of protecting their cities
Great video btw 😊
Awesome, thanks for telling me about that!
@@thepharaohnerd7235 happy to share 😊 it came to mind while the topic was about the European architecture
My favorite nerd uploaded. Its a good day.
Who are you callin' a nerd? Jk lol, thank you!
lool i checked like an hour ago and im like hmm its been oddly long
Somewhere in the world, at some time in history, there was a city that had a period of unprecedented peace, prosperity and fruitfulness. Their citizens lived fulfilling lives of work, family, ceremonies and social life. This period lasted over a lifetime and there were people that lived an entire life where violence was rare. There was no existential threat. Everyone felt safe. They loved their merciful and generous king. They had immense pride in their culture and people. They lived an entire life of happiness and celebration.
In modern western society this unbroken lifelong period has never existed. There has always been some sort of pressure on its citizens. Whether it be foreign in nature or domestic. There are people who can insulate themselves, but as for societal wide, I don't believe there has been a period such as this, but somewhere, at some point in history, it would have been reality. These periods of time would be perfect tourist destinations if time travel into the past is ever invented.
Thanks 🙏
wow we really forgot a lot of civilizations didn’t we
Yes we did
FINALLY
Thanks!
No problem, thanks for watching!
the cheerful bust of that monarch in the thumbnail made me giggle
Love a good base-5 counting system
Nah men look at that seal from Shaustatar 😭😭😭 Long live Mitanni

Will you cover the Marajoara?
I know of them, and I really like their lively human-shaped pottery, but unfortunately it doesn't seem like I added them to the iceberg while I was making it last fall. I'm considering doing videos on the cultures I left out, though, so maybe one day!
Time for pop corn 🍿
Finally some names are getting the drop on me. Gj!
Thank you! To be honest I personally didn't know about the Sintashta and I knew barely anything about the Urnfield culture until very recently
we love love all city-states in this civ
7:14 "at first glance looks like swords". Yes, definitely thought of swords...
TPN HAS POSTED YIPPEE

Here for the Susumu Hirasawa representation.
I hope I don't get copyright struck, but when I saw that ceramic statue from El Zapotal of that guy sitting with his hands on his knees looking all depressed I knew I had to go for the bit
@@thepharaohnerd7235 No idea of you will. Only one way to find out. And yes, it was practically asking for it Lolol.
28:00 Uh oh, Goggle man is gonna be propagated as an alien.
37:17 Constellations?
You're right I could see that happening lol
I was thinking the same thing about the bowl, and I wonder if the little dots covering the entire surface are meant to represent all the stars
@@thepharaohnerd7235 that's what my amateur thoughts were too. So much Star Worship lol
Best deep dive
what the hell is Chincorro even going with that process. Their perception of death must be very intresting, sadly we cant know more about it.
LETS GOOO
I'm so early that I'm at the bottom of the iceberg
Let's GOOOOOOO
Totonac is my fav
36:21 do you think that mediaeval-era German legends of the Knight of the Swan (who is borne to his destination by a ship pulled by a swan) could possibly be a late-surviving folkloric remnant of this older motif?
Wow I didn't even know about that, maybe it is some sort of vestige of that!

Mittani are related to indo iranians, which is more like, sanskrit and mittani had a similar ancestor. Sanskit itself and mittani had separated by then, they were just closer to the separation. Still crazy to think because this is the root era of most religion
Good point, thanks for the clarification
You forget about Valyrian Freehold, it's the greatest empire from the east destroy by doom of the fourtheen flame just overnight.
