I’m an asian who grew up in the States and only spoke English. I went to the Philippines with my white friend and we both learned Tagalog together. Our Tagalog was not that good, but everyone there reacted to his Tagalog with a “Wow, your Tagalog is good”, whereas the reaction to my more fluent Tagalog was “Why is your Tagalog so bad?” Why does the world put the white man on a pedestal while they treat us like we don’t deserve their respect. B.L.M.!
