I played your SRS guardian league start and it was amazing. I’m by no means a casual but I still prefer following a guide. The updates to your league start was also very appreciated keeping up with changes or optimization. Will definitely be watching all your league start videos but I’m probably doing bone zone this time
I was following his guide as well and farmed a couple thousand divines to start my TS MF character. This league was nutty lol.
I definitely lost my AG and specters a few times though. Soul Eater with super juiced spires esp w/ 5k-6k purple were a little too stronk.
@@KronMastaMax420 I ran sanctum for about 100 d or so to role a TS Then farmed my first head hunter and got my first mage blood to drop. Didn’t get a mirror bow or anything but this league was insane. But having my first T 0 belts was awesome. Even if it was much easier
More importantly this season got me into “juicing” maps which I never did. 4 scarabs +2-3 sextants. Still no where near the investment others do but it was progress to me

3.23 was my first season ever. I used your SrS on Maxroll and I was able to get through red maps with no problem. I don’t like how specters work on the game and how they can disappear, but that’s nothing against you. Build worked amazingly well and guide make it as easy as it can be for a noob.

I use a staff and run Cyclone, Cast whlie channeling, SRS, aggressive minions, Infernal Legion, Spark(now Spark of Nova),.

I can recommend just using Herald of Thunder and Ash, with a Tri element staff(fire,cold,lightning), two cluster jewels with minion life, either maximum chance to ignite or run Witch Elementalist with Shaper of Flames and Storms, you want that Herald of Thunder to be active while SRS are igniting and exploding. Spark of Nova means constant lightning damage. After I get my PC, I'll send the PoB. 👍

Your league starter builds are by far the best! I had the most fun in POE with the SRS Guardian build. The depth you go in notes and the guide we receive throughout the build is so great. I found always more and more stuff to improve my character on and it felt so rewarding. Thank you so much for the effort it was a blast! Can’t wait for for your next one!
Your SRS Guardian was my build in Affliction, the first league I ever played. I'm hooked. Now to decide what I play for Necropolis.

i used to love storm brand league starts when we had the +1 chain to non proj lighting skills mastery. it made for a really smooth grind to yellow maps.
And lucky lightning damage mastery! 😔
It's still ok but the jump from yellow to red maps is too big on league start budget here imo.
I really like storm brand but I really hate the old man...do you think it's still viable to go around 1.5m with similar budget levels on a witch?

Its been a while since I've looked at brand builds but it seemed like some was abusing brand recall on left click for more damage
You're actually trolling if you go necro for bombarding clones, guardian just adds so much damage and tankiness just by itself. Also you can use a bombarding clones mirror arrow with a regular blink arrow for movement and the blink arrow clones wont count toward the bombing clones cap. On guardian one clone does enough damage to kill pretty much everything but the toughest rares in red maps real quick so just cast 1 clone and move on.
I did guardian as well. Still didn't love it.

Your description of Storm Brand's indecision seems completely off and doesn't align at all with the text on the skill gem. The only thing I agree with is that it bounces without the mastery, but it does exactly the same thing. For single target it has more damage and higher activation frequency as long as it doesn't bounce. It also has higher damage effectiveness, less cast time at the cost of the additional beams. There is a reason Sanctum runners and bossers prefer the transfigured version over the normal one.
It doesn't send a beam to multiple enemies anymore and it is missing the 130 more damage multiplier for hits against the branded enemy.
I recognize that it has more damage in nearly every other category but there are likely specific scaling breakpoints where the default gem can still perform.
@@subtractem yes, it absolutely can perform, it's just other way around. SBoI is supposed to be for single target while the additional beams from the normal version are supposed to be for better clear. Just a rough calculation for damage shows that the transfigured version has like 60% more damage without adding any base damage:
SBoI (damage of one brand with x being added damage) :
((686 + 0,85x) * (1÷0,4) = 1715 + 2,125x
Normal version:
(227 + 0,3x) * 2,3 * (1÷0,5) =1044,2 + 1,38x
And this doesn't even consider the cast time which is cut in half or the quality which is 20% more damage on SBoI. Fair to not include that for league start but not for how the gems work.
Im a big fan of league starting as stormbrand Hirophant/elementalist, then switching into any other skill.
These recaps are great for guys like me who are just too busy (most of the time) to be able to catch your streams. My heart sunk, though, when you said you were going to do stormburst totems - goddamn it, you're gonna show everyone how good it is /jk. Great stuff as always, Sub.

Yea I think for Storm brand the best way to do it is E-Blade and I am just not a big fan of E-Blade gearing
I recently started making my own build from scratch in preparation for the new league and its given me a whole new appreciation for these guides
Used Ziggy's arc of surging build on my super late league start. Got my first Maven & Uber Elder kills. The damage feels vulgar when the crits pop off.
I'm just hoping that this league I can pick a good clearing build. Last league I just fell into the meta of Energy Blade Inquisitor and got kinda bored because of being able to melt bosses but not being able to clear quick since I only used Penance Brand and didn't get good results with other skills (skill issue on my end probably)
All i want is an affordable bv league starter, but haven't seen anything bv related for the last 3-4-5 Leagues that isn't multiple mirrors.
BABC is probably one of my favorite builds of all time, but yeah it's definitely a week2 build, and if we lose the new spectres without a good replacement, it's going to feel so much worse.. Actually I just hope the spectres come back in some way since it added some cool ways to get more power even in non-summoner builds, even if they died often :c
Could Champion blink arrow be a thing? You are much closer to a bow wheel and the increase aura effect would be huge for wrath

I’m def gonna test storm brand of indecision Hierophant as a league starter in SSF if it doesn’t get nerfed. Curious to see what made you not go for it in this video.
I started BL of static totems and it was very smooth. I've played a lot of totem builds and I think it was as strong as OG FP totems before soul mantle nerf and first snow threshold jewel removal.

Funny you said BAMA doesn't stack up to Frostblink Elementalist because that Cons list you gave for BAMA is the exact reason I wouldn't ever play Frostblink.
Frostblink instantly resets its cooldown and with ignite prolif kills the entire screen instantly, you really can't compare them.
Good video. Asa somewhat new player, end game is still beyond me with the complicated crafting, never get enough currency to do it or get Divines. Think 9 Divines is the most I've gotten in a whole league. Your builds get quickly beyond what I'm capable of...still trying. When GGG devs can't even put out good guides for new players.....basic guide from them is USELESS for mid to end game !
Man personally if I don't start explosive arrow totems my league start feels just awful almost every time. I think in the last like 10 leagues I started it 5 times and had great starts and out of the 5 I didn't I only had 1 good start on poison srs.
I did not follow one of your guides so far BUT seeing as how you do multiple videos on them i will try one of yours this upcoming league. Fingers crossed this is not the one that it fails, wink.
Did you already delete the characters/Pobs? Wanted to take a look at what you tried for BAMA Necro.
My guess is that "MyOtherWifeIsMyCousin" was that character, but it sadly doesn't appear in poeninja snapshots.
it's taken apart sadly, same passive tree and you can see some of the gear on the guardian. i didnt do anything particularly special or off the beaten path here except to tone down the investment so you can just look on poe.ninja for similar examples.
it's a strong build but feels _really_ clunky early on with low investment, tough to recommend it as a starter.

I'm STRONGLY considering league starting freezing pulse/ice spear totems as it just melts content even at lower levels. I'm still somewhat open to others, but it's the first time I'd been able to actually boss and feel like I'm doing some significant damage in a short period of time while not having to be right up in the boss's face. I'm curious to see what you will set you mind to prior to league and I'll be stopping in every chance I get. Thanks again!
Don't share the secrets of storm burst! The quality changes to duration made it even simpler this league for early scaling.
I've used the Mirror Arrow of Bombardment that Raizqt used on the gauntlet and it was REAL smooth.
it's a good build but i just didn't love the playstyle, not enough to want to make a full build guide for it.
@@subtractem I understand and it's really clunky if you don't farm the gems on another character. And you are completely right on the pathing on the tree, it's a mess until you get the CD reduction.

Love your videos, tho i tried the Srs guardian last league. I didn't get too far into mapping because of lag deaths and the fact i dont even know how to trade, so i just tried to find good gear myself.
Going to specifically look at any new gems, and just go with it. I really need to stop copying builds, and just see what I can do anyways.

Must have had a very easy life if making a build guide is up there for hardest things you’ve ever done 😐
Relative to many yes but I had some tough labor/service jobs when I was younger.
It's just a different type of effort. The mental and creative drain of making a comprehensive guide and taking into account all factors while making it as beginner friendly as possible is a serious amount of effort. Between the testing, maxroll guide, written crafting and leveling guides, video guide, and follow on support a league start guide usually has me on the hook for at least 80-100 hours of concentrated work all within 2-3 weeks.
It's very similar, for me, to designing and implementing a front end UI/UX experience (with full backend) especially when it comes addressing feedback and understanding how it'll be used.
It's not backbreaking work but it seriously drains your mental and social energy.
Unpopular opinion here, i miss frostblink league starter. My fav skill in the entire game.
Not unpopular at all and No reason to miss it. It hasn't changed. There's a few comments like this that confuse me, I even made a video for this league saying it's a good starter. It's still there, I'm just always on the hunt for more.
Have we confirmed transfigured gems are going to 3.24?

did he just say 1.5mil dps isnt enough? lmao this is my first league and my damage isnt even close to that. still in yellow maps too.
you need about 2m DPS minimum to beat pinnacle bosses.
for Ubers about 10m minimum.
Damage requirements is higher now compared to before but it seems 5-10 mil damage is what you should shoot for at minimum
5-10M for later on for sure but 2-3 mil is really comfortable for league start mapping and early pinnacles. 1.5 was close but it was just awkward enough for exarch/eater that I wouldn't recommend it for the budget.
Don't worry you can get 2 voidstones with 1mil and 6 portals

I addressed this in a previous comment but yeah, at least for me, making a build especially a league start guide is a monumental amount of work. Minimum 100-200 hours if you include testing and writing the maxroll guide etc.
I've done "real" hard work earlier in my life, including physical labor and the service industry, and know how silly it sounds from the outside but it really is mentally draining.
Just testing builds on stream is the easy part and not what I'm referencing, the hard part is all the follow up work and supporting the build for the next 4-12 months.

i've followed a bunch of your builds before, so i know how much detail is included. from the outside it does appear as if you're living the dream by playing video games, talking about video games, writing about video games etc... there are a of people out there that have a job where they dont do what they love, or being taken advantage of by their employer; they would happily trade places with you. so, it just seemed like hyperbole which made me laugh super hard when i initially heard the statement.

there are definitely MUCH harder/worse jobs than what I have and I appreciate that every day but it's also far from an ideal dream job (primarily due to finances and stability)
i can honestly say that this profession has caused me significantly more stress than any other job that i've had in the past and my advice to anyone asking me how to become a content creator is "do it for a hobby and, until you are VERY successful from it, don't quit your day job"
anyway, i dont like to dwell on those things but that's my perspective from the other side of the camera. gotta get back to working on my daily video!

Did you look at ZeeBoub's Stormbrand google Doc? To me it looked like it could clear T16's, Eater, and Searing with pretty low investment. Though my goodness, if you look at his character, day 2 IDK how on earth you get that kind of gear in a single day. Really, I would love to know how people make that kind of bank. The big think is when to switch over from Arma to Storm, his google doc goes from lvl 64 and jumps to lvl 90. IMO you got to jump to Storm before that, but there in's the trick. I took a few hours to map out what seems a decent route, but there is no one to say it's going to work, I got to test it, which I am doing. Flamewood is on the menu then again though, I am not a fan of the pathing. Now what surprised me was my last run, a melee based build that can go the distance for a League starter, Zish's Frost Blades Trickster. That guys is pretty darn cool, he even responded to me to help me out months after the Guide was released. But the build works very well, might want to give it a shot.
