Thank you for these videos, Youthman. You know, you have reviewed SVS, Klipsch, and soon Monoprice... with those points of reference, I think it might be time to review Hsu and possibly REL. This Monoprice sub reminds me so much of Hsu's VTF series, it seems like you're going to have to eventually make that comparison (for those of us that will never get the chance to try all of these different brands!)

It might take some research to corroborate, but I recall the prototype of these were using a driver from TC Sounds/Audio Pulse LMS driver. It was highly regarded for car audio for linearity and thus low distortion.
I am no expert, that is just the impression I have from memory.

Absolute beast of a sub!! Can't wait for the full review! One of the cool things monoprice does is that on certain holidays they have the monolith line at %20 off. Thats when i bought both of my thx 12s. I saved almost $250 going dual, and they shipped free the same day and arrived home 2 days later. Didn't pay any taxes either! It was a crazy deal too good to pass! They are awesome by the way!

@@spursdynasty7378 honestly they're a powerhouse, at least in my setup, originally i went with dual thx 10's and they were a huge improvement over my almost 10yr old dual sw450's. The amount of depth and bass they would put out compared to my klipsch's was day and night, for a 10 inch sub 75lbs,500wrms 900peak and it hits down to a clean 18-19hz it was a hell of a deal, i got them for $400 a piece on sale. But i wanted a bit moar so the 12 inch was perfect, same amp at 500wrms but it hits harder and abit deeper than the 10. So yeah if ur able to catch them on sale u could save over $100 each. But at retail ur probably also looking at other subs like hsu vtf3 and the svs pb2000 too. For ur bedroom depending on the size of the room the thx 10 would be a great addition especially if caught at $400 free shipping, but if u got the space and $$ then why not go big. 🤙👍
So far I’m quite impressed with it. Has a ton of output, very low extension, and sounds really great with movies

I want to love this thing but I’m having a hard time setting it up. Did you have trouble getting output? In my Marantz receiver I’ve got the sub level at plus 10 with minimal output. I put the gain on the back of the sub amp to plus 15 and still barely nothing. I’ve messaged monolith but no response. Looking for help.
Definitely something wrong either with setup or the sub itself. Should have plenty of output with those settings.
With an huge subwoofer like this, what is then receiver volume that you use usually?
I keep the my onkyo receiver volume around on 40-50 but i need to set the my subwoofer (12' magnat sub 300 thx) set to +10db to feel deep bass.
I have my receiver set to relative and usually watch movies around -15 to -10dB. I have never had to put my subs in the positive. Right now I’m reviewing the Monolith 15” and it’s at 0dB in the Receiver and only 1/2 gain on the sub and provides THUNDEROUS bass at that volume.

I went from svs to psa to this, no regrets lol. The 15 is a beast. I didn’t think I’d use the gloves then ended up using them 😂 . Also I ended up using a splitter for the rcas after reading the forums about these amps are a little different in level input.
What models did you have before this?
Youthman svs I had the pb 2000 s then for psa a pair of v1500s, now a single 15 mono but I need another lol I was only trying out the mono15 but decided to keep it. It just played low deep and clean. No distortion (using thx mode settings on mine). I got to hear a demo of the pb 16 ultra and it was powerful as well in the room it was in but never got to hear it in my own room. I’m running two ports open currently. I need a second balance in my room as the psa duals were near perfect in my room until I tested this mono. Ended up keeping it and now will be ordering a second to be dual again
Why did you use a rca splitter?
Jason Warner I had to use the splitter for more gain level but I’ve gone with a minidsp since then and can control input gain there if needed. I had originally used the splitter after reading some posts about it on these subs and their amps

Looks a very capable sub but can it out the king? SVS.I don't believe we get these in the UK but we do get the SVS.It will be very interesting to see what you think is the best.I use BK subs here in old blighty a small bk gemini 2 for music n movies and a bk monolith + for movies one's ten inch the +a 12 inch they're pretty good for the money £225 for the smaller one and £600for the beast.Great reviews man keep em comin.
Seems like the Monolith 15 could benefit from aftermarket isolation feet (six), similar to what SVS offers. Would this be recommended over what is provided in the box?
I haven’t tried the SVS Isolation feet yet to see how they effect a subs performance

I have never heard of Monolith before until I heard it from you Youthman. They look like a legit speaker company, they even won best of CES 2019 award for their THX speaker lineup. Could they possibly be a contender to Klipsch?

svs is my pick. And using their upgrade program you could easily upgrade your way up to the pb 16s within a few years!

@@sukhsrboss5693 Im pretty sure svs will do that but I would talk to customer service just to make sure. I would also say the r-115sw is going to be the better sub in this case and it would be my pick. But if you bought the svs for the time being you could trade it in for maybe a pb 2000 pro some time next year which I think is a better sub than the r-115. Disclaimer I have a pb 2000 pro so I'm a bit biased but svs is generally known to have better subs :)

@@sukhsrboss5693 It's really good man! I came from a cheap 200 dollar Polk sub and this was a game-changer in my system. If you can stretch it I would say go for it! It really is a fantastic sub! It shakes my whole house. I was watching the new Godzilla movie this weekend and the opening scene of the movie had my whole house shaking and I'm pretty sure my neighbor's house was shaking too lol. So if you can get the pb 2000 pro!
That thing is like the top 1/3 of a Dunlavy SC-VI
I own two Monolith 15s and they both have driver rattle after 1 year of use. One of them started after 2 months.

Youthman Should have but wanted to see if the other sub would have the same problem. Going to have them replaced soon. Wish I could just have the drivers replaced instead of sending the whole sub back.
U can use the woofer surface as a drum.
i was gonna get this or the hsu sub but i went the poor mans route 2x15 AP 1600w peak powered by xls crown 1502 @ 2 ohms and i have no complaints whole living room shakes violently

i ending cross over @ 60hz was prefect for music and movies. my rp680's do well at 60hz coming from the polk rti-12s i still have rti12 in my garage cause i do like the sound for music not for movies but rp680 do well all around

According to the manufacturer, the smaller subwoofers can also keep up with the low frequency of the large.
2 would of course also have advantages in terms of sound distribution in the room, decreased subwoofer localisation, easier room placement.

REQUEST TIME! I saw a review on AVS forum called: RSL CG5, CG25, SpeedWoofer 10S Review, it has a waterfall chart at the bottom. This looks like a better way to express what is coming from each sub as you test. It seems to have little merit by itself. *However* if you are putting two subs against each other, this seems like a way to express a richness in frequencies vs just raw DB peaks. What do you think sir?

Thanks for the unboxing and presentation of the woofer. But it's lacking a binaural audio sample. Everything is about sound and video and is frustrating to talk about something you can't hear or see... Every video that you make, should have this kind of sound or picture sample.

I could certainly fabricate a review immediately after unboxing the subwoofer But I would think most viewers would prefer me to actually use it for a decent amount of time before formulating an opinion on its performance. True. Keep in mind THX has a steep premium to pay to get that certification. There are many products on the market that would easily meet the requirements, but choose not to invest the money in getting the THX “stamp of approval”
Who gives a 💩 about thx? It’s a bunch of bologna. Real performance is what counts and not a nonsense stamp on a device.
Oh look...Monoprice ripped off another design. It’s one thing to compete by producing budget gear, but Monoprice is clearly knocking off other products. They did it with their headphones by copying hifiman and Audeze (even the screws were in the exact same place), and now theyve obviously knocked off SVS. Pretty shameful.
Knocked off SVS? How is that? The 15 doesn’t look anything like my PB16’s other than they both have three ports. Other companies like Rhythmik Audio do as well.
Youthman All I see is a company taking popular products in the marketplace and knocking them off with cheaper materials. Their monolith headphones are just knocked off Audezes with a knocked off hifiman headband.

Youthman looks exactly like the pb13 I owned a while back except with a 15” driver. I seriously doubt this sub was designed from the ground up. Once I see what looks like a blatant ripoff, the company loses benefit of the doubt with me. Their headphones even had the same QC issues that early Audezes did. I find that pretty pathetic.
Youthman I cant remember which company sued them a while back, but they got accused by a major audio company for ripping off some speakers.
Mr Youthman . I want you to please help me in selecting the best Sub-woofer in terms of everything .... such as price , quality of sound , looks etc.
The Brands I have in front of you are as Below :
1. Klipsch KA 1000 THX amplifier driving 2 KW 120 THX speakers .
or
2. SVS PB 16 Ultra.
or
3. Monolith M 215.
My theater dimensions are 18'x26'x9'.
My Main speakers Klipsch RF7II, RC 64II, RS 62 II x 4 driven by Sunfire TGA 7401power amplifier and Onkyo PR 5509 Preamplifier.
