Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride
Playthrough | Part 18: Onward to Mt. Zugzwang
After much training, preparation and ensuring that everyone is set, we're now ready to tackle the last dungeon of this game. Welcome to Mt. Zugzwang.
Something to note is that you need to make sure your party has the Elfin Charm equipped. Why? To protect yourself from serious status conditions such as paralysis. It'll help. So anyway, Mt. Zugzwang is a dungeon that will test you. I kid you not. Many of the enemies you will find will take you down if you are not prepared. Made worse is that you have three boss fights to contend with. That's right. Three.
Don't forget to get your hands on some of the better items in this dungeon especially the Metal King Helm. Oh and make sure to take advantage of using the Sage's Stone. Having constant healing will definitely help very much in the fights ahead. Now in terms of boss fights here, there is only one. Ladja. He's back for a rematch after deciding to strike down Abel's mother Mada. We also learn from Mada that the real big bad Nimzo has gotten much more powerful. So now we got to hurry. But first, Ladja's got to go.
Ladja has 4000 HP and has some nasty spells that can paralyze your party. Though if everyone has Elfin Charm's it's no issue. However he can take you down if you are careless. Begin the fight with buffing via Insulate and Kabuff followed by Oomph on your attackers. If you do that then this fight is no issue at all. Bear in mind that this can get stressful since Ladja attacks twice a turn.
Once Ladja is finally defeated, he goes down. We get a scene with Mada trying to pray to stop Nimzo but it's in vain. She dies but not before telling us that we must stop Nimzo before he unleashes hell upon the world. Mada is reunited with her husband Pankraz and the two are assured that their son and his children will get the job done. After a lot of exploring, we reach the endpoint.
Nimzo is up ahead past the destroyed wall. And it's going to be a fight that won't play around. See you in the finale.

As for Zugzwang all the bosses are named after CHESS Pieces so Zugzwang is German for Move Compulsion as in the player that HAS To make a move but all of his/her moves are SO bad during his/hers turn they may as well resign the match then.

MKS"s ONLY show up here or IN the Post game BUT Evil Slash/Hatchet man AS a Critical hit or miss skill doesn't exist IN BOTH the 4th and 5th game while the CURSED Helia hammer does the same thing very FEW DQ5 monsters can even EQUIP it that is if that weapon even IS in this game.
