- When the weather was a tad warmer, I set out on the bottom end of the Yorke Peninsula for a little getaway overnighter. Getting ready for a surf, I spot a couple of schools of salmon. So out came the rod and camera! Only a few casts needed to catch yourself a solo feed when they are around!

Dustbowl used to have mega schools back in the 80's and we weren't much interested in them being more focused on the sucky waves of Salmon Hole , Rockpools and Daly's ... good to see fish still visit the beaches
Yes

Hi Alex. Good to see you back. Great video too.
Cheers dude!
Hey Alex. I am a long time bait fisherman from NZ and have reasonable luck fishing off beaches around South Aus most of the time. But I am quite new to fishing with lures and soft plastics. You guys seem to be reeling in quite fast, almost as fast as you can wind? Is that 'the' general technique? I tend to wind in slow/mid range speed assuming that would be a natural speed bt to be honest, I have no idea... I see the QLD beach fishing guys are winding in fast and tugging very hard on the rods which to me seems too heavy handed. Am I seeing this correctly? Should I be tugging hard and winding fast with soft plastics and lures? Cheers mate, appreciate your videos
😍
Great to see you back Alex! It seems the fish are back around you as well!
Yessir, lovely video!
Great to see you back.

Great stuffyoung fella
You should go fishing at Aldinga beach there has been heaps of salmon and big mullet.
Always enjoy your videos!!! Great to see that your back fishing. Also, nice catch 🎣
Been subscribed for a while now. Me and my grandfather like watching your videos on the tv next to the fireplace when it's holiday and I go down to Adelaide in winter. Had a cracker session down at port norlunga. Big mixed bag. Southern blue spotted flat head salmon's trevallys toad fish gars leather jackets yellow eyed mullet and a tiny bream. Most species's I've ever got in one day. I would like to see more regular uploads but can't expect something I want all the time!.
Great video Alex. Was there a week ago waist deep in the cold. Big schools hanging around. Good feed and good fun! 👍
Cheers Kim. That’s fantastic, that spot never disappoints!
post some surfing vids

Hahaha that’d be me. Thought the voice would have given it away 😄
Gorgeous part of SA
So Pristine!
Good to see Alex. Are you back in SA and back at work yet?
Thanks Kev. Back in SA and at the original store. 🙂
Nice. Where did u end up surfing? Big enough for the Hole?
Just on the sand bar near the school. Was a nice left rolling through. Unfortunately not big enough for the hole that day.
@@Alexsfishin there’s a certain ‘landing’ north of there. The far northern end can get good when small. Some interesting fishing options too. Beach and rock
Hey Alex nice catch man please cook one next time
Thanks Rob.
Beautiful spot, happy to be home?
Yes it’s been good. But miss the spoilt fishing in Sydney 😞
Which beach down south are you fishing at? I love your videos and want to see of I can do the same.
Salmon make good fishcakes it takes that strong taste away.
Gotta try that one day!
