I can't stop watching this, it made my mom cry happy tears
You're a genius Ben! This was incredible, congratulations and thanks!
sounds amazing Ben! Keep going!
It's exactly what I expected, and yet completely original and compelling man, great work
aaaaww =) thanks for the wonderful music
You deserve it Ben! Really great stuff, i love the song and the arrangement is astonishing!!!!!
Rage Against the Apartment
Yeah, more like rage against his neighbors.
@@PaulTheSkeptic More like rage against him from his neighbors...
"what do you play?" "oh I play the one-way sign"
This was awesome. It's like Frank Zappa featuring Rage Against the Machine.
Ben even kinda looks like Frank a little.
It reminds me a bit more of Kanye ft. Frank Zappa.
Hey Ben Levin. You probably won’t see this comment, but I still wanna say that the depth and power of this music and these lyrics literally left me speechless with chills. You’re a true artist and I can’t can’t stress how much I appreciate the art you create. This has really moved me.
Hey Kevin, thank you so much. These people brought out the best in me and in the song and I’m so honored and grateful for this experience. I hope to make lots more music for you in time!
You're the man dude, from 3:10 onward I could not believe what I was hearing, superb composition and orchestration!
@@BenLevin Hi Ben. I'm sure I've said this before somewhere, but I can't begin too say how grateful I am for your music. There is loads of music out there, with absolute technical wizards that I love... but it leaves me thinking "Man, I could never be [x musician]"... Not a nice feeling... but when I listen to your music. There's something so honest about it, I never think "I could never be Ben Levin"... it always leaves me inspired to be an authentic me, "I can always be me". It always leaves me inspired to pursue whatever *I* like in my own music making. That is a nice feeling! Thanks Ben!
@@alicec1533 I really love to hear this DrPenguin! That's all I want - for everyone to be the most themselves they can be in their art!
Didn't know Ben Levin could rap. That guy is such a talent.
Everyone can rap.
@@flacidhouse350, Sure, but to what degree of fluency is an entirely different thing.
@@TheRedverb Well this is pretty basic shit. He isn't exactly lord Byron.
@@flacidhouse350That's the point I was making.
@@TheRedverb No it isn't.
Neely Crew where you at?
D E F G E C D
Neely led me to this, which led me to Ben Levin, and for that I am most grateful to him.
This is so cool! Adam Neely's vlog brought me here!
Awesome, thanks man!
Ben is quickly turning into one of my favourite musicians ever
Forreal
It is mind boggling that the density of sound actually works without being too much and everything is heard. Amazing arranging skills.
Lyrics posted by Ben Levin on dbates314's comment:
Snow hair, frost brow, brick house move out, stuffed box, moth balls, drove so far to rock out
When flat screens were a new thing
No car self driving
Wait online for grocery
Screenshare bad latency
Bow our heads at punk shows
Push forward to the front row
Fingers tap on smart phones cause we’re forgetful when we’re old
Punk bands be sweatin’
Ingest carcinogens and estrogen
Misfits gender morphin
Everybody mess with them
Punk bands be freedom
Jailed cause they got weed on them
Inhaled cause we beat on them
Before losers were users and safety pin abusers
Raging out on headphones
Writing songs with 3 tones
Cranking shaking cracking bones
Not pretty just pugnacious
Take a shit they rub your face in it
Hunting down the hypocrites and flailing at the government
Had enough of it tried to quit
Addicts in the attic
Teen center pussy was inadequate
Need something deeper for habit before the hard shit sees the gap and inhabits it
Stick a static steel ring through your nose and let the vultures grab at it
Snow hair, frost brow, brick house move out, stuffed box, moth balls, drove so far to rock out
We say hello, we say goodbye
Grown up fast and bitter
Sex came easy
Cars and Xbox freebies
1000 shares of GE
Gee golly is that for me
Crashin’ parties stashin’ molly glitter bodies no apologies, we’ll see
Go to the same place when we elderly
Put on the same face in the box they bury
The room twisted with our energy
And kids of celebrities hear the hum of generations heckling me
Follow your genetics closely
Mammograms just for comfort mostly
Likely to occur but not for sure
40, 50 age is a blur next to one word that aches when you speak it
And makes people whisper, spirits creaking
Memories of a hairless sister brother mother lover father daughter dead grandmother
Everyone can relate in some small way so they scared when you mention its name
Think about it on the regs, regulate it like my pain meds
Don’t let it get to my head
We say hello, we say goodbye, and through it all we wonder why
Just barely getting by, growing brittle, waiting wild
Changing shape and looking more like the ones the young ignore
I’ve given up on staying young, I will bare the bruise with love
There’s wisdom in the children
Push their limits till their prime
Who am I to judge them
We’re all running out of time.
man...how do you even arrange something like this? this is a masterpiece
Ben has a video on his channel that explores the processes involved in this session (with interviews with the arrangers)! czcams.com/video/Sm4KH0KfaEM/video.html
It is definitely a difficult process
Last time I watched this video, I was in middle school. Watching it now and college student, while not really *that* old yet, this definitely hits harder. Gorgeous music 💜
Wow, that’s heavy, I’m glad to see Adam, Ben and Luke together in a project
The beatboxing is so cool here that guy is an unsung hero! :D
TheOddKris there’s an apartment on Gene’s composition!
This has quickly become one of my all time favorite songs
I love at the beginning where the listener is literally moving throughout a three dimensional musical space
Ben Levin is AMAZING! Also the percussion is outta control! #OneWay
Justin Berling one of the kit players teaches at my college
I was wondering when someone was going to play in the tub!! Fun to watch!!
The Punch Brothers video had an upright bass in the tub as well!
I will have to watch that!
they could have cleaned it first though...
"I've given up on staying yound, I will bear the bruise with love."
Ben Levin, You absolute madman, that was so beautiful :D
I have never been so excited for an apartment sessions video
Ben is an amazing talent as is everyone participating in this song I guess say song series .. I'm 40 years old taught music since I was 15 and I sent this song to my retired High School music teacher and he commented how it gives some faith in Young Generation sing kids getting together not kids but you get the idea ..making music what is about it's about passion Art and Love not selling a bad lifestyle wet dream 2 a teenager for a few dollars to buy mansions for some record executive. but the change has to start somewhere.. It's people like this are going to be the ones who do it. I believe it was the Great American poet The Notorious BIG in his masterpiece 10 Crack Commandments that said " I have a dream.........."
PS this is not my professional CZcams account this is an account I just made for random stuff but I hear there's a guy with an account called "frettiyeti" he plays guitar more like I do but I tend to do more djent banjo than he does..
No freaking way you recorded this all live no freaking way holy shit it's so good
Well, that was all over the place but it worked
20 cent productions It's what Ben goes for, I never used to like it but its grown on me. Love him.
2:12 is so freaking AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fantastic! Love the "restroom" trio!
love it!
3:21 that bassline came from underground the hECK
That's called a S U B B A S S D R O P
yeah that bass hit hard, I could feel it come through the floor even though I don't have a subwoofer
In Germany we have a saying "I don't need no bassdrop, thank God I already got Doppelherz!"
It's funny because "Doppelherz" is a German medical... thingy (www.doppelherz.com) and can be translated to "double heart" - which isn't the fun part actually, it's that "Herz" is pronounced the same as "Hertz". Sooooo.... might be a bit far out but you know? "Double Hertz" ... 2Hz?
Hahahaha. Did I just prove to everybody that Germans don't have humour? :/
I'm German and I've never heard that before.
The only saying about bass that I know is: "Erst wenn der Subwoofer die Katze inhaliert, Fickt der Bass richtig übel", which would approximate to "Only when the subwoofer inhales the cat, is the bass brutal enough"
I just made that up to show that Germans sometimes do have a special kind of humour :D
Also I was pretty drunk when I wrote this :v
Hell yeah! Great music and great persons!
One of my fav Ben levin songs. This is so good
Masterpiece!!!
Many thumbs up guys!!!
Big big love for this song, amazing arrangement
This put a smile on my face. Thank you
Goooooooooooood I always loved this song, thanks for letting this song live through all of you !!!

I am crying now, thanks.
Yeah! Ben levin let's go
Ohhhh !!! *love* *love* *love*
Great song Ben.
Keep coming back to this
Please keep making more and putting these out to buy! I adore this music. You guys have inspired me to try something like this myself with a group of friends.
Amazing, fantastic, such good fun just to watch, it must have been great to be there.
This is absolutely fantastic!!!
I love the original album version of this and this just blew me away, absolutely amazing in every way
So very cool
Probably one of if not my favorite apartment sessions I’ve seen
Love all the percussion on this one
I had never heard any of Ben's stuff and I have a feeling that I'm gonna be listening to a lot of it now. This is a wonderful piece.
Masterpiece!
The chorus makes this for me. You already have my brain and spleen but those voices take my heart and spirit too
this is insane, and one of the best music performances i've ever seen. so creative and crazy. like an orchestra with every instrument imaginable.
this is the most inspiring thing i've seen in a long long time
I love that you make this stuff!
This is beautiful. Thank you all.
This is absolutely beautiful!
Brilliant! I think Ben Levin is about to become one of my favourite new musicians all in the space of a few hours!
This mix is t h i c c
Very cool session. Top. 💎
My favorite apartment session
This is one of those videos that just keeps drawing me back to it every few weeks. And every time I return, this piece breaks me, relaxes me, and leaves me awestruck more than the last.
Holy SHIT!!!...... I am in awe. I love this song and I love Apartment Sessions, never thought they'd sound so beautiful put together!!
This is the best thing I've ever heard
I've always adored the song, but with a full apartment band it sounds INSANE. Amazing as ever!
I loved it!
wow wow wow wow wow and one more time wow
easily one of most amazing things i have ever seen and heard
loved the authentic bathroom reverb :)
Wow! In my opinion, the fact that you are playing in little places makes it even better because it makes me feel through the videos the best feeling of the world, having fun while making music with others.
Ben Levin. Your creation and arrangement, your musicality are just out of this world, no words. Keep up the good work man.🎸🎹📯🎤🔔🎛
goosebumps everywhere. damn! great stuff
Wow what an insane production! I also love how this ties into Adam's recent discussion on (non)-acousmatic music
Cool!
This is amazing. This is Wow!
This is oddly amazingly good
this should have a million views, love this
That was a fun one :) Now to watch Adam's behind the scenes!
The ending reminded me of "Surf's Up" by the Beach Boys.
I loved this so much, the raw emotion from Ben's delivery, and the willingness of everyone to put their whole self into making his music come alive.
Hey, Adam's there. Adam Neely. Dude, that's a lot of musicians. You have like a whole string section, a whole brass section, a whole choir, a whole orchestral percussion section and then some. This is one cool orchestra. You should tour with this many people. I'd go see it. It's not like you'd have to worry about having enough material. I'm sure the others would love to do some of their stuff. What a sound.
He arranged most of the music for this version
@@MongerOfStrings8222 Adam did? Or Ben? Whichever, cool.
Wow! This was actually beautiful.
Ben Levin is da bomb
:O. So good!!!
i know that a serious @#&% ton of work went into this, and the end result was magical. THanks to all the players
I love solo artists and all but MAN! This is how music was meant to be played!
I love Ben Levin!
Ben is incredible :)
Ben Levin is win.
Damn, this is something. Thank you for sharing this :)
cool song, cool artist, cool choral performance, cool sounds, cool everything :)
To Ben Levin, and all the arrangers: I don't usually (hardly ever) get goosebumps from songs, but this arrangement is an exception. The climax from 3.25-3.50 is amazing
I just discovered this thanks to Adam Neely and this is a reeaally cool video format!
It only gets better.
Hell. Yeah.
You are Great, Apartment Sessions.
The One Way sign is my new favorite instrument
This is pure insanity haha. OMG. Genius!
Am I dreaming? This is stunning! :D
Amazing!!!!!! Love the way this song makes you feel uncomfortable, but at the same time, like if you belong...
Ooooof that harp was precious
I'm a little surprised. This is excellent
Hah, that is awesome! Nice work, everyone.
