[A Deaf heterosexual couple is sitting center with grey sweatshirts.]
    Chinese Deaf Community!
[A series of short clips of Deaf Chinese people and Stacey, the owner of Deafinitely Wanderlust]
[Cut to Stacey who is wearing black winter jacket with two large water bottles on her backpack behind her. Behind her is a scene of pillar-like formations behind her at the national park. On the left side of the screen, it shows a black text: “Deaf community in China.” A logo of Deafinitely Wanderlust is shown on the right top of the screen along with three logos of different social media platforms: Instagram, Facebook and CZcams]
    Stacey: China!
[Cut to a Deaf Chinese couple. A blad male is sitting on the left, wearing blue-rim glasses. He smiles with slight dimples. On the bottom left, a black box appeared: “Zuo ShuHui (with his name in Chinese language too). A local Deaf Chinese.” A female is wearing a Nike sweat jacket. Her hair is tied into a ponytail. On the bottom right, a black box appeared: “Zuo Hong (with her name in Chinese language too). A local Deaf Chinese.”]
    hiii !
[Cut to Zuo Hong only] [on the top left of the screen, a black animated circle appeared with a white text: “Deaf associations must be under government”]
    All the Deaf associations are
    managed by the government.
Our government funds our Deaf associations.
so they pay us, and we have to be under them
we are not able to manage ourselves without them
If we want to establish the Deaf association
without them, then we do not get money from them.
When the government give us the fund,
a Deaf person cannot be the president/chairperson
If we get fund from them, then we must be under them.
Basically, if the government doesn't, we can't.
    If the government funds us,
then we can have the associations
Having an equal partnership between the
    government and Deaf associations
is something that I believe it should be that way
    I really want that.
[on the top right of the screen, a black animated circle appeared with a white text: “Facebook, CZcams, etc. are forbidden”]
In the USA, there are Facebook, CZcams,
but these are forbidden here in China
In China, we have Weibo, WeChat, YouKu
    Those are allowed in China
I think it was during the year of 2008 when
China decided to have their own version
of social media, like WeChat and Weibo
They manage these social media platforms
[on the top right of the screen, a black tag appeared with a white text: “So, how do we, Deaf communities, watch videos from Facebook, CZcams, etc.?”]
In the USA, there are a lot of videos on Facebook but
and how do we watch them? Well...
We use VPN ( Virtual Private Network).
We use it where we can watch the videos in China
but the problem is that it is really slow
it's so slow, you'd have to wait for it to load
    Well.
So, another way that we can watch Facebook videos is
A friend would screen record the Facebook video
    and save into a file
and then a person would use that file to upload to
    Chinese social media platforms.
That's where we Deaf Chinese can watch the videos
[on the top right of the screen, a black animated circle appeared with a white text: “Chinese medicine are also used to try to “cure” Deaf people”]
In China, parents who fear their children becoming Deaf,
they'll find different ways to "cure" them.
[on the top right of the screen, different images of Chinese medicines are shown]
Cochlear Implants isn't the only option (*NOT a cure*)
They do try Cochlear Implants, just like in the USA
    it's happening the same here.
Secondly, they may try using the sword
In traditional Chinese medicine, we don't
tap the sword on the head.
we just swing the sword gently while chanting
    Thirdly, they may try acupuncture
for acupuncture, needles are typically on the body but
for this case, they will put the needles behind the ears
Fourthly, traditional Chinese tea is given
[Cut to Zou ShuHui only] [on the top right of the screen, a white appeared: “His personal experiences” along with Chinese translation]
I remembered when I was little as a Deaf child,
we cannot afford to get cochlear implants
so that was not an option.
Secondly, they did acupuncture behind my ears
    That did not work.
Did it make me hear again? No.
[on the center right of the screen, a white appeared: “Nothing.” along with Chinese translation]
They also use the sword method
they put something on the tip of the sword and blow it
    nah.
They also dipped it in a drink
and then I had to drink it.
Did it make me hear again?
    Absolutely not.
Lastly, there was this old tradition where
they were boiling tea and I had to drink it.
    hmm...
    Did I hear again?
[on the center right of the screen, a white appeared: “It’s not true.” along with Chinese translation]
    Nothing. It's not true.
[Cut back to Zou ShuHui only]
[on the top right of the screen, a black animated circle appeared with a white text: “We do air-writing or palm writing when needing to communicate”]
We, Deaf Chinese, use air-writing for Chinese characters
There are over 5,000 Chinese characters,
Growing up, we learn to read and understand
    air-writing Chinese characters
If we struggle to know their name,
then we ask them to air-write on their palm
    then we can understand it.
Air-writing Chinese characters are not only used by
Deaf people but Hearing Chinese people too
When a Deaf Chinese person doesn't understand,
they ask a Hearing Chinese person to air-write it
so this way a Deaf Chinese can see it
[on the top right of the screen, a black animated circle appeared with a white text: “It was illegal for us to drive until the year of 2010!”]
We, Deaf Chinese, could finally drive
    during the year of 2010!
Before the year of 2010, it was illegal for us to drive
    I wasn't happy with that
I wondered how to we get laws to pass for us to drive?
A group of Deaf Chinese people gathered together
advocating and find ways to prove the government that
we can drive despite being Deaf.
the government later listened and passed
the laws for us to drive in the year of 2010!
Several of us Deaf Chinese were thrilled!
Beijing is actually the first place that passed the laws.
    In Shanghai, Hangzhou, Shijiazhuang,
    it hasn't been implemented yet.
We, Deaf people in Beijing, encouraged Deaf people
outside of Beijing to come and get their driver’s license
Several of them came to Bejing for this reason.
After a year, two years, it finally
implemented in other provinces in China
Before we were allowed to drive,
we only could use the buses, ride the bikes,
    or take a taxi.
    It wasn't fair.
when my parents needed to go to the hospital,
I could only use a taxi to take them there.
    Now I can happily drive.
I could drive my parents and take them
somewhere to explore and spend time together
I felt really relieved that I could drive.
[on the top right of the screen, a white animated circle appeared with a black text: “We, Deaf people, can drive!”]
Yes, I'm Deaf, and I can drive!
[Cut back to a couple who signed thank you in Chinese Sign Language]
    Thank you! Thank you!
    bye bye!

You're welcome!! I really enjoyed filming this! They are not signing in CSL or ASL actually. They're signing in International Sign (which is kinda new and comprised of gestures & selected signs from sign languages all over the world - but there is a large percentage of ASL signs).

The Living God loves you so much that He sent His Holy Son Jesus from heaven to earth, to be born of a virgin, to grow up and die on a cross for our sins, and to be put into a tomb 3 days and rise from the dead the third day, and He (Jesus) went back up to heaven. We must receive Sinless Jesus sincerely to be God's child(John 1:12).After we get saved by grace through faith in Christ, if we truly love the Lord Jesus Christ, then we will obey Jesus(John 14:15). Mark 1:15 "And saying, the time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: Repent ye, and believe the gospel." Jesus said in John 14:15 "If you love Me, keep My commandments. "There's a real hell. It says in Revelation 21:8 "But for the cowardly, & unbelieving, & abominable, & murderers, & immoral persons & sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone..." Please sincerely receive Holy Jesus & put your true faith & trust in Him today and repent.
