    Thank you so much for the detailed tour. Your ways inspire me everyday. Truly enjoyed watching it and even more planning to implement some of your ideas in my class. Thanks much, Greg! Kindergarten Teacher and fellow CZcamsr from Mumbai, India.

      Yes is this a private school or something?? These videos are interesting but not realistic. He has an enormous room, about 9-10 kids, and an intern or para (some kind of help) constantly. Must be nice tbh. I have 23-25 kindergarteners with no help and a classroom that’s half the size in a very rough demographic.

    Huh. This is so different from when I was in kindergarten ~20yrs ago. We had a huge standing duo sand box/water playbox, several easels, a small sight reading area with CDs/adjoining books, a shelf full of blocks, tables/chairs, a dress-up area, area rug, and a pillow-filled baby pool to relax/read books. We also had a closet full of carpet pieces for naptime. Not all kindergarten rooms had the same furniture/activities, but regardless it was all play-based. Wonder why things have changed. Common core? Or have they finally given up on that?

      Kindergarten is more structured now while still incorporating fun things . But these kids are also more advanced with technology etc

    So sad you don't have housekeeping or block area. They are so important for language development. Is this a district policy?

    • @reddeer1758
      @reddeer1758 Před 3 lety +3

      Yes, I love many of the techniques Greg uses in his class, hence I follow him. However I do Learning Through Play with my 5-7 year olds all day (I see small groups for academic work) and get quite saddened when I see schools teach such young students without providing play.

      @@reddeer1758 Here in Ontario our Kindergarten classrooms are focused mostly on play based learning. It amazes me how different Kindergarten and Pre-K are in the USA.

      THis is not our choice nor we do have control over this. These are district rules. In fact, we do as much as we can to bring fun and play into our classroom in spite of district rules.
