- Like a penny farthing made love to a tricycle, the Halfbike is one of the cutest modes of non-motorised transport around. Here's my review.
Check out the Halfbike on www.halfbikes.com

I've done 2 or 3 100k's on my Halfbike, and 1 100 mile ride. Don't give up, I use to feel like some of the comenters but stuck to it and now i find it to be the most fun bike i have.. This August ill be 68, planning a 68 mile ride to celebrate.
How practical is the Halfbike for those who live in areas with lots of hills? Is it difficult to get up a steep hill? I can see the halfbike really fun for flat terrains.
@@setfreemiss it's tough but between being fit and dropping down to 1st gear, it's possible
Thank you, Dave! Your easygoing style of explanation does give me the courage to learn the Halfbike. I have two that I purchased used. One of these days when the rain stops where I live in Calfornia, I’ll take it for a spin.
I have had the Halfbike 2 for a few years and I totally agree with your assessment of it. It's not that easy to ride especially at first, and is probably good for short commutes of about a mile or two. I found if I don't ride it for a while, I actually have to relearn how to ride it. I think if they can make it longer, it might be more stable, but wouldn't be as portable. I find it very jittery when I try to go fast and try to slalom left and right. It's a novelty item and will never replace the good old bicycle, but definitely a conversation starter.
Great Video!!
awesome ! thanks for this video
Wonderful video, thanks!
It's a work of art.
Love it.
Saludos desde Medellín, muy instructivo su video, felicidades, muy buen producto. Exitos 👍🇨🇴🚲😁
World wide a friend making machine!
Out of the box i immediately put SPD pedals on it and had no problem doing the first 100m...However I'm not talking about the next 1 meter...
body must connect a bit lower at front wheel axis.lower by say 5" ..it may stabilized the balance and minimized the position or height of the rider
Great vid, i ride mine to work for 20km each day ;-) 10km takes roughly 20-30minutes tops
So you’re going an average speed of 20-30 km/h? Impressive if true.
Nice!
How well does it handle bumps?
Light slopes?
The handle bar needs to be wider (additional 6" either side), then it would be easier to learn to ride. Mod it and try it.
you think you could ride for several kilometers without getting tired more than what would happen with a bike? what i mean is if the standing position is hard to keep without the possibility to take a pause resting on a sit
I have one. A friend gave it to me.
Maybe if I were better at it I wouldn't have been tensed up. I rode mine about a mile at a time in a big parking lot. It was sort of difficult.
I think they should replace the front wheel with electric unicycle!Actually I think if they put the pedals closer to the back two wheels you would feel more stable...
The construction is what makes it so wonky to ride. Might be fun, but not for somebody who just wants to commute from the subway stop to the office.
I think I can see the trivial mod that will make it behave more like a regular bike.
INFIDEL - You didn't tell us if that's a hub (Sturmey Archer) type gears or not?
It's a 3 speed one. Happy?
can it hold a 200lb person ? is like riding a normal bike 1st try u falls keep trying..
like a scooter/ bike..
Yes, you can :).
Aw this is awesome but it’s so expensive I could never afford this
You have in Ali express cheaper
I think the main problem of it's control is the handlebar is too narrow. The back wheel also too small so i think it won't stabil in curvy, gravy or grassy road.
I'll put this in the category of clever yet incredibly impractical
Sort of like SUV's ;-)
Why?
He sounds like Bear Grylls
YOU only steer by the handle-bars if you've NEVER ridden a bike B4?
This is not a Bike. XD
I really hate it... I regret my purchase...don't go downhills...my town is nothing but...
Let me guess, you get rid of it, you never did another video of it...
Maybe it’s not for everyone, it sure your age or, how large of wimp you actually are. But I’ve found a halfbike 2 secondhand and rode it through all conditions, even a Michigan winter. And the halfbike 3 not only handles hills, but I go looking for them. Super horrible assessment of an incredible invention. Fake news
Doesn't mater how well it may eventually work; nothing changes the fact that anyone on this contraption looks like massive knob.
Baaaaaahahahahahahaha...
Ridiculously overpriced, basically 1/4 bike, same price for a full size high quality bike
