So I just watched Dune: Part Two -- it's an absolute masterpiece. My jaw was on the floor for half the movie -- incredible! I also heard this theme when it popped up towards the end of the movie, which was really cool. Did Diana actually sing this for the movie, or just in this performance?
It was just for this performance! This was part of a show dedicated to the work of Hans Zimmer, and they held two shows, one in Moscow and one in St Petersburg. Diana also sang No Time to Die from James Bond. The original singer of this Dune theme is Loire Cotler, but l think a legit Diana x Zimmer collaboration would be amazing

So glad you got back to my favorite vocalist and this incredible performance by Diana. I just saw Dune 2 and, man, I wish she was performing the soundtrack for the movie. Her epic voice would be so perfect. I hope we get a clear official recording of this performance. She would also work really well and she would be really fitting as a character in the movie with her exotic look and emotive abilities.

I don't know if you remember. But, I know that. Because I love history. There was this girl Samantha Smith. She was the first to write a letter to the USSR Secretary General Andropov in 1982. And she came by invitation to our country back in 1983. This girl was an amazing child. A child from your country, the USA, and she united our countries for a while. But, she died in 1985 at the age of 13 in a plane crash. So this is what I'm getting at. Diana in our time connects continents much more powerfully than politicians. Thank you for your reaction.

А ещё он поёт сам - и вполне естественно, что он сразу заметил необычное построение вокальной партии в этом саундтреке. Без постепенного развития композиции - как это происходит обычно, и без резких контрастов - как это любят делать исполнители, хорошо владеющие своим голосом. Как это любит делать Диана Анкудинова; пример он нам продемонстрировал. Из этой композиции можно было бы сделать нечто в том же роде, что они сделали с песней "Can't Help Falling in Love" в 2021 году - если бы дело происходило, к примеру, на шоу "Маска", - и это было бы эффектно. Но здесь нам демонстрировали искусство конкретного композитора - и нужно было следовать его концепциям, насколько это вообще возможно. Нужен был артист, способный уверенно справиться с двумя сложными композициями, не меняя замысла автора. Но при этом выдать звук, подходящий для шоу, привлекательный для восприятия публикой в огромном зале. Такого артиста они нашли, использовав в максимальной степени не только её вокальные данные и энергетику, но в высшей степени удачно использовав её артистический талант и незаурядные внешние данные. А что с концепцией автора? Она всё-таки изменилась - и хотел бы я услышать его мнение по этому поводу. Собственная ярко выраженная эстетика Дианы Анкудиновой неизбежно меняет любую композицию. Её голос, её энергетика, её интонации просто содержат в себе больше информации, просто утяжеляют смысловой и эстетический вес всего, что она исполняет в полную силу, с полной отдачей. Как это когда-то произошло с прекрасной песней "Tomorrow is a Lie". Именно так произошло и с обеими композициями на шоу "Искусство Ханса Циммера". Каким образом они изменились? Они просто стали лучше. Интереснее, глубже, богаче. Так, мне кажется, думает большинство поклонников Дианы Анкудиновой...

Thank you for your detailed reaction to Miss Ankudinova. Diana performed this song along with another Hans Zimmer song entitled No Time to Die. The most recent 007 movie. These songs were performed in Russia on a program called The Music of Hans Zimmer. Diana did not actually perform on the soundtrack for this movie. She recently performed on the soundtrack of a Russian movie entitled Spirit of Baikal.

Great reaction, again. An audience member wrote on the comments that the video feels like 1/10th of the impression in person. It felt a bit frightening like her voice was pressing them down into thier chairs. It was mind boggling and sugggested that playing this on good speakers in your own environment.

Btw, theres a Placido/Dimash duet recently performed on the CZcams show Virtuousos featuring youth in classical music. Its a great moment to hear both and hear dimash in full classical discipline.
As i have said before i was there in that performance right at the front and what you hear on this recording is only 1/10th of the real intensity of the piece.
It was penetrating, it was electrifying and it was so heavy that i felt it weighing on my chest, i felt pressed to the chair by her voice, i felt wind on my face if that makes any sense.
It is repetitive of course but this is not a cover it is 1 to 1 with the original, the only difference is Diana's voice which is 10 times greater than the original voice of the song which is from Loire Cotler.
Loire's voice is grittier, raspier and lacks volume while Diana's voice is heavier and POWERFUL coming from everywhere at once.
As for the context of the song it self it is supposed to be a call to arms to a holy war against the oppressors of the indigenous people of Arakkis from a priestess of the planet, so it is supposed to be monotonous since it repeats the call to an uprising, it is a message to the people.
It is an imaginary language that is called "the voice of the dessert", so the whole song is made up of vocalizations.

I am always impressed by Diana and Dimash among others who really work the Mic to make it an instrument as much as their own voices. Also, Oreratic teaching or not, if Diana belted right into that mic, she would knock it out, the Soundguy would be scrambling to balance if he/she even COULD save it. She's leaning back and turning away to not create feedback or worse with her volume. Plus, she can create some interesting effects with the Mic, no Sound-person needed.

I do agree that it seems to be missing something- not because of anything Diana did or didn’t do, but because the piece is vocally very repetitive since it is designed as “background music”. It’s undoubtedly very powerful, though.
I wouldn’t mind seeing you check out “No Time to Die” next, but if you really want to hear something new from Diana then go listen to her sing “The Day You…” (День, когда ты…). I think a lot of people will recommend the version that she sang as a duet on TV, but I actually prefer her solo version. The lyrics of the song are apparently stating the prophecy of the coming or arrival of the Messiah to free the Freeman from tyranny and lead them to paradise. This particular composition is sometimes referred to as ”Paul's Dream" and references and expands upon the scene in the movie where Paul is sleeping and dreaming just before Lady Jessica wakes him up before being tested by the Reverend Mother with the box and the poison needle thing. If you have seen the movie you will recognise the connections, especially if you rewatch it.

Did she herself say that she was experiencing problems? Because most of the reason why microphone technique is important (knowing when to move closer/farther away) is because of volume control. As Peter said, singing loudly directly into the microphone is generally not a good idea if you don’t want to kill the audience’s ears
You are probably right, but there is a problem with the dynamic microphone. This is the opinion of the musicians. Listen to Diana singing "Take on me", in the song Diana also works with a microphone. She made this recording at home during the pandemic and quarantine. There were no listeners there, Diana was "working" with her ears.@@hearingninja

A couple to start with are her stripped versions of Tears of Gold and You Don't Even Know Me. She writes most of her own songs as well. She also does an amazing cover of Desert Rose (Sting).

You really should hear Ystefani Oliveira of Brazil. She has the most beautiful voice. She's mainly on tiktok where she streams. She does have a CZcams channel as well, but she doesn't post much on CZcams. If you don't take the opportunity to hear her you will be missing out on a beautiful voice.
