When India wanted to purchase military weapons from the US, India was ignored for decades. As soon as the US perceives that China may become a threat to its global dominance, then suddenly, India becomes strategically important to the US in order to contain China. However, if India joins NATO, it would only be costly to India and India will absolutely lose its political autonomy in the end.
