The NEW Sly Fox and Birdie (Excerpt)

- Many of you may remember that goofy 1992 educational railroad safety animated video, "Sly Fox and Birdie" (which I did a CZcams Poop on a couple years back). But what many don't know is that a remake/sequel was made in 2006, by Operation Lifesaver. Instead of utilizing that crude hand-drawn animation technique, this one was cheaply animated on Adobe Flash. Voices were also changed, and Sly Fox looks and acts quite differently than he used to. And to top it off, Sly Fox performs a very cheesy, outdated-even-in-2006 rap number about "staying off, staying away and staying alive." Now why couldn't they have just simply reissued the original 1992 version onto DVD? (I think they still offer it on VHS tape.)
1/30/13 UPDATE: Wow, over 100,000 views since I first uploaded this 16 months ago? I guess a lot of people waned to see what this new Sly Fox and Birdie was like...
Well, now you can see the full version here! And be sure to stay tuned for a new CZcams Poop about it of course!

I remember watching this all the way back in kindergarten. Our class and others was called down to the gym where we were sat down in front of a tv (it was like 2007/2008 so no high tech stuff you’d see in class rooms today). It’s been more than 10 years yet I still remember it vividly.
Pl0pp
Yeah, I like how the message is to stay away from train tracks, while they are standing RIGHT BESIDE A TRAIN ON TRAINTRACKS for the first half of the video.
LAVENDERACGIRL lol
When i was like 5 years old i watching this, great memories.
Me too. But wait I think I was 7 that time.
2011: Ah Crap, I Really Wish We Get a Full Version 😒
2021: YEAH, FINALLY, A FULL VERSION, SO LOST MEDIA FOUND, HOORAY!!! 😄
Yeah, I think it’s also because Operation Lifesaver discontinued selling the 2006 version; now they only sell the original 1992 version on DVD.
@@ZakWolf AH CRAP LOST MEDIA!!!
@@cbws630 Yeah, but I uploaded it on my backup CZcams account, so it's no longer lost. But I can see why it's gone out of print; the 1992 original is superior and seems to do a better job getting the safety messages across.

1:02 sly fox when he’s a TTTE character
The 1992 version is better, change my mind
But seriously, who says "Stay off, stay away, stay alive" when giving safety information?
Didn't we go over all this like twenty years ago? I am digging the updated look though.
I.. We had to watch this in Drivers Ed. Why did I look this up again.
childhood~
Admit it. That music section sounds a lot like the Party Time song from that animated titanic movie
It sure does!
It may be a video put into the simplest terms but it still shows trains always have the right of way at a crossing
My good lord, they sound NOTHING like the original voice actors.

When I was younger I thought this was catchy as hell.
The train sounds like a truck horn.
So, do you prefer the realistic train sound, or the truck horn from this?
+Avery Turner That's because they used a much older diesel train sound effect, from the Hanna-Barbera sound effects library. Diesel train horns used to sound like that until the '50s.
+Avery Turner Definitely the realistic train sounds from the original; it made the original one more authentic.
+wileyk209zback Why does Birdie sound like a kid?
@@moviefan99 idk
I like the old one WAY better!
Agreed
Stop Look Listen? Really? I whip out the scanner, tune to right rail line, get camera, wait...
The memories
Hey, guess what, the rules STILL apply in railroad safety today. Trains kill more people than car wrecks alone.
Man lost so many friends from a train collection their faults anyway
Oh god that was f*cked up
1:52 - 2:06: A bad case of telling and not showing.
Something the original 1992 PSA lacked completely.
Well it seems the full video has been taken down.
0:40 Birdie's expression matches mine.

If this was real life, the bird would have got eaten
The song in this video actually has a really good ring to it : )

This is not that bad, minius the song. Where can I find the whole thing?
That rap tho
ZAMN
...
What is Sly Fox doing?
Billy Disley A Big Lipped Alligator Moment that for me is considered as a Shark-jump by Operation Livesaver in order to appeal the new kid genneration.
he is doing a #1996 dance.
SO NOT COOL
Cartoons in the late 80's - early 2000's were so good. A lot better than this new flash crap.

Can you please, poop this
I like both versions. These characters are awesome and if you compare this short to any of the ones produced by the Los Angeles Department of Transpartation... there is no comparison... But if you want to rant about...
