This is the longest I've ever followed a show,I found Bob Ross when I was roughly 7(37 now) on PBS at 1 pm Saturdays. I always waited for it because it gave me the ASMR tingles but I didn't know what it was then but it just felt good. The funny thing was I'd wait all week for it,I'd throw it on tv and then I'd wake up about 45 minutes after the show ended and I was eventually able to self diagnose as being lucky to get ASMR. Thanks Bob!

Really loved this video. I found all of this so interesting. Bob has been one of my idols since I found out about him and I love his positivity and really miss him. People often call him "The Father of ASMR" which is why this video is so perfect because its relaxing, entertaining and educational! I've watched you for some time now and this has to be one of my personal favorites of yours. I've watched it about 3 times now haha. Amazing work!

Very relaxing
First off, this is my favorite video of yours. Secondly, The Joy of Painting is cool media perfected. The medium (not just the painting, but the whole production, Soft-spokeness, black void background, Bob's seductiveness, etc.) masterfully draws you in. But that's not all in the slightest. What makes it perfect is that it is in total service to The Message... The story lives up to the point. The love and attention put into the show are in proportion to the message of joyful creation. So, it sucks you in, sucks you in, sucks you in, then bam it hits you, the poingency. You've arrived at the meaning, the message, and once arriving there comes the realization that the medium was not only the vehicle for the message, but the message itself! Leaving the consciousness surrounded in a sea of joy and love in a way.
so well put adam. there really were so many more layers to it all than what it initially seems like

Rich I love this. You certainly have that luring effect with your voice like Bob dead. My brother goes to sleep every night listen to Bob Ross videos. It’s almost exclusively videos he watches. I like variety but I do remember years ago being mesmerized as I would listen to Bob Ross around 3 o’clock in the afternoon or so. I get the feeling he is the granddaddy of ASMR but I still love the way you dovetail with him in this video. What a perfect combination.

I think we can all agree that Bob Ross was one of the original ASMRtist. everything you brought up (while I was awake at least) goes for ASMRtist of today as well. we just didn't have a name for it at the time.
