    Now that the weather is getting better I have begun using my AC Cobra replica a lot more, and I have begun practicing a new POV setup, which allows me to show a true eye-level view.
    If you think I'm driving like a Granny, that's because I am. The internet doesn't need to see my speedometer going above 70.

    I remember my father owning one, it was a v8 6.3litre chevvy engine, according to the previous owners, it made 500bhp+ I cant remember all the details but I was young, but I watching this video makes me miss it. They're fun cars until winter comes or cold weather and you can't really leave them outside over night without risking a high chance of theft. But damn sometimes when you're on motorway It would always make me go deaf, not sure how to put it but its like the scene from Black Hawk Down when one of the guys shoots next to the other soldier ear. And our vehicle would backfire a lot on start up, it would make car alarms go off.

      It's the time of year all the toys come out. I live in a down trodden Norfolk sea side town labelled "4th most deprived in the UK", yet I drive my ST MK3 to see a 2014 plate Vantage (then a DB11 on the A11 a few days later), a Lambo SV heading into Trowse near Norwich, 2 MK5 Supras, a Nissan GTR, 2 Audi R8s, Taycans are becoming more common and I've see a few different 911s too, though GTS is most common, I have seen a GT3 RS as well.
      Few months back I coped a wet race up the A11 with a Ferarri 812 Superfast...that nearly spun out near Breckland Lodge (Attleborough). Got a video from my dashcam of it, geezer nearly binned it into the verge.

    Hi Adam, do you have an Edelbrock carb? If so try moving the accelerator pump actuator along one hole, that is a fairly common fuelling issue on acceleration, the actuator is on the front nearside of the carb. It gives a little extra shot of gas when you accelerate to stop it hesitating/stumbling, the holes give varying amounts of gas (Edit, got to end of vid and you do have an Edelbrock, might not work but very easy to try)

    You no doubt prefer V-Power but it's worth checking is Esso Synergy Plus is ethanol free in your area. It is here in Norfolk (including the one right next to Snetterton Circuit), I fill my ST-3 MK3 Focus with it and it runs butter smooth on that stuff.
    Tesco Momentum is alright too, but you might want some C10 containing petrol additive or ethanol protection as it can run up to 6-7% EtOH on the Tesco 99. Abuse the hell out of the rewards stuff if you don't already too...5p a litre off Esso fuel with 300 nectar points and money off with Shell after 10 £20 spends/visits. Wouldn't be surprised if you do this already, but if you don't it's worth doing; you'll save yourself a few hundred on fuel each year with the miles you do.

    Your fuelling issue maybe the ethanol in the fuel. Try using Esso 99 octane, it's zero ethanol. It could also just be octane rating, too low for that old motor. That fixed my running problems. Don't swap a Holley in, people telling you that'll fix the problem really don't know that much!

    • @AdamC3046
      @AdamC3046  Před 2 lety +1

      I use the car far too much to fill it with 99 octane, and I doubt that'll be the problem as V-Power has never caused an issue before.

    • @S.ASmith
      @S.ASmith Před 2 lety

      V-Power is 99 Octane but can contain up to 5% EtOH. You're right in that Esso Synergy Plus doesn't contain Ethanol in most of the UK, but without the Nectar 5p a litre off it can burn a hole in your pocket (179.9 in my town currently for Synergy+).
      The V8 in his car should be fine with anything more than 97/98, and considering he uses V-Power exclusively I doubt octane is an issue. It is likely the higher water content of the fuel, which fuel additives can help with and are cheaper per tank than filling with fuel that is often times, 2-5p a litre more than V-Power (which isn't cheap itself)

      @@AdamC3046 🤔 block is probably warp from previous repairs done many times and or not having flush surface due to leaking for so long, you say it’s a 1975 block so. I’ve been around a lot of 350s and the only leaks I’ve encountered that are normal are the oil pan gasket going out after years. I’d still just get a cam with .480 lift and 280 duration. Get the valve train to match, port and polish the heads and get a decent 4 barrel carb if you ain’t got one already and it’ll be mint 👌

    Not knocking but why don't it have the big bulgey high profile tyres like the real ones ? The big high profile tyres make a Cobra imo. Sounds very nice!

    • @AdamC3046
      @AdamC3046  Před 2 lety +1

      Because low profiles handle much better, and I'd have to buy a full set of new identically-styled wheels and tyres for a minute visual difference

      @@AdamC3046 i duno what kind of selection you have over there but big and bulging will fit those rims...that said i agree on lower profile handling better. for future reference tire guys get very conservative about changing tire sizes..VERY CONSERVATIVE
      i dont know what made them paranoid since the early 90s but therye almost at full conspiracy levels these days.
      a couple of sizes in both directions is baby stuff.
      and it looks like you have room (maybe not inside without a spacer)
      also ignore that carb stuff, yours probably just needs a tune and maybe a small part, edelbrock are great carbs (just a brand argument nowadays)

    It's not at all proper, practically a sin this having a GM Engine instead of a close matched Ford Engine, which would be the 5.8L in Ford's case, but I think we can all agree that the 427 is the only true Soul Engine for this car.

    • @AdamC3046
      @AdamC3046  Před 9 měsíci

      It's not meant to be proper, I'm sure your 1960s Shelby Cobra has the correct, matching-numbers Ford 427.
      But my replica has just as big a V8 to give a smile on my face at a price I can actually afford.
      (P.s. Carroll Shelby originally went to Chevrolet to use their V8s before he went to Ford)

    Yap yap yap, rather listen to the engine than the forever running epilogue. For god sake give it a bit of a decent rev.
