Had the privilege to sing in this opera many times and be on stage for this last scene (only in our production, Rodney Gilfrey sang Figaro, not the Count!). The last ensemble is the music of paradise. It's what I'd like to hear on my deathbed. A tutti contenti saremo cosi.

My absolute favorite version of this opera - all so right for their parts.

"Ah tutti contenti" is simply...sublime. You feel like all yr sins, imperfections, whatever, are being washed away in the music.

Exactly, along with the "Christe Eleison" from the C Minor Mass. This is why, along with only Shakespeare, Mozart is the greatest creatice artistic genius that has ever lived.

18:51-19:56. 65 seconds. If you ever needed to convince someone that Mozart was a genius without peer, those 65 seconds should do the job.

I'd say 16:47-17:18. Only 31 seconds, but they bear the weight of the entire opera. It's amazed me for decades that anyone could do that.

@@StudentAlephNull yeah, incredible seconds as well. I guess we all have our subjective Mozart exemplar passages. What a genius the man was.

I like to provoke a friend who thinks that Mozart was a lesser composer compared to Verdi/Wagner, "Yes, it's true. In fact, Mozart did not compose Nozze di Figaro, it was dictated to him by God".

@@VK-sp4gv In my opinion a more appropriate response would be "You are a moron; never speak to me again." It is best to get persons of low character out of your life.

Alison Hagley’s Susanna is just about perfect to me.

At last! A Susanna who can believably imitate the voice of the Countess! "Parlate un po' piu basso". Much easier in the play, of course.

It's officially my headcanon that Cherubino should hum the tune of Finch'han dal vino. I'm sure Mozart would approve of it.

I am not so sure Mozart would have approved. Why should we be reminded of Don Giovañni in the middle of this folly?
Cherubinois supposed to hum his cavatina: Vip che sapete...

Its still a wonderful/best rendition of the opera! Anyways here is the link czcams.com/video/Mo129QTp4ls/video.html
