- A detailed look at the new edition of the Razer Mamba Wireless Gaming Mouse. Some major changes have been made to this new edition of the Mamba, including a new 4G Dual Sensor System with a 6400DPI laser and another optical sensor. This gives the mouse Auto Surface Calibration and Surface Lift Off Calibration. The mouse also has 15% longer battery life and a new lighting system which allows custom colors. The new software gives you the ability to customize all the new features of the mouse.
In the video I go over all the specifications and look at the mouse in detail, as well as looking at the software.

Had my Mamba for 6 months, love it. Didn't realise a new version was out, upgrading Friday :D
Great in depth vid :)
Wow you got a very nice camera... the video is so clear
Very good and detailed review, Well Done.
Great, extremely detailed review. Thanks for this!
I'm glad I saw your comment because now I want the RAT7 too.
Thank you for clearing this up.
Thanks for the review :)
Thanks for this review man
Good review man, i really enjoyed it. Cheers.
Just ordered this !! Can't wait xD
Just got this mouse in the mail today. It kicks ass. Buy it.
i personally have the razer black widow ultimate 2013 version, and i have no regrets buying it. Its an excellent gaming keyboard and definitely worth it
Amazing review!
Hey man! Nice review. Fast paced and straight to the point. Well done!
I want to ask that form how far away the dock this mouse can work on wireless mode?
If im on external screen and maybe 8m or somewhat about 25 feet away from it, still works?
Thanks!
Hi there SingularityComputers, I have been following your videos for quite some time! and they are great! with the response to this video, what mousepad that are suitable for razer mamba? since from one of your video you also had made a review on Ironclad, Scarab, Megasoma and Destructor. And how about Naga Epic? any suggestion?
very good review thx
Also great Review!
is the wireless good for gaming ? i mean.. i know its a gaming mouse and all that but does it stand up 2 a wiremouse in fps games ?
thx for the review, very nice !
perfect review
Reviews are supposed to happen after a while of use. That's the best way to find out if a mouse or anything for that matter is worth the while.
Great review buddy. That's how you review a product. Question and I hope you can clarify this. Can I change the 2 dpi buttons beside the left clicker to be other keys instead? Can I change them to reload and crouch for example? Am I forced to have dpi buttons on the mouse? Once again, great video
worth every penny
good that you can finaly cchange the colours
i want a light up green lazer mouse, if i didnt have my G9x id probably get this
just bought the 2012 version hope its worth the money :)
saludos de Mexico :]
Yes, that is the reason. I've installed a new light in the computer room with adjustable brightness, so now I just turn it down and the scroll wheel of the Mamba displays very nicely.
I wish they could have put the led on the left side of the wheel though. Other than that little issue the mouse is great.
@SingularityComputers should i get this or the imperater i dont really use wireless stuff but i heard the mamba has great accuracy
Hey Singularity, I've noticed that on your more recent gaming videos that you're using the Steelseries Sensei. I was wondering which you prefare between the Mamba and the Sensei as don't know which I prefare. Cheers
QUESTION: When you take the mouse from wired to wireless, do you have to plug in the USB cable into the dock to stay connected or is the sensor in the USB end itself? In other words do i have to use the dock at all?
Hope that helps on your decision :). I'm getting the naga epic in the next couple days.
OMG It's awesome! I'm buying one. I already own Razer Megalodon it is really, really great and the virtual surround is awesome. But this mouse looks even more awesome o.o
Is this different in performance and functionality between this and the 4G Razer Imperator simply that one is wireless and one is wired? I'm trying to decide what mouse to get on my new rig for mostly FPS games like Battlefield 3 for e.g.
May i know how to use the lift off function? Because i cant seems to move the mouse when it is lift off from the surface
i have this mouse im so excited
would you recommend me get this over the old mamba? im planning on getting a second mouse for my new laptop anyway.
well i just got mine and i'm loving it. i would recommend it. i use it with razer scarab
Those sensitivity stages, are those all 100% standard/out of the box? or did you change any of them, I'm very interested in the default stage dpi levels :)
does the rubber coating peel off after you have used it for a while and does the scroll wheel sqeak?
I would like to ask, if the mouse is on wireless. what is it connected to? as in, the charging dock is the so call wireless connector? so I have to bring the dock around if i want to use it as wireless? is that so?
How does the wireless work is there like a transmitter like the logitech or does it use bluetooth or somthing?
The Blackwidow is an amazing keyboard. I highly recommend.
Yes, you can. Plug in the cable to the mouse directly and leave the battery inside the mouse.
What exactly does the dual sensor? I recently bought a Taipan with a laser sensor, but I've seen dual sensor models and I don't know how it improves the mouse or the feel... Would you buy the dual sensor model? There is a big improvement over a single sensor? (Talking about the Taipan)
i have this mouse and when i try to pair it with the dock i.e. when i press the pairing buttons, the LED on the dock starts blinking but after some time it stops and nothing happens.
WHAT TO DO
Is it a problem that it doesn't have thumb or pinky overhangs? Is it still comfortable to use with out them?
nice vid thanks :)
@SingularityComputer just a question which one is better this mamba 4g or imperator 4g?! Thank you
DeathAdder ftw!! :D
I have a Mamba and the grips on the side of this is great. I have never used mouse that's more comfortable than the Mamba (haven't used the deathadder 2013 though)
what camera you are using ? great quality
So i can play it wirelessly or wired? And when im playing it wired, it also charges? Or i can set it up for the charging station? Have i understood this right?
Nice video
Original Mamba experience - 1st it suffered from tracking & jittering issues which had to be remedied with the white Razer Pro|Pad mouse pad until a firmware update came out that fixed tracking on any surface.as it didn't like the Razer ExactMat I had at the time. After a year of use, the left side rubber grip came off & had to be super glued back on. After 2 years the same issue occurred with the right side. Finally, the laser died completely. Now I have chosen the SS Sensei over the new Mamba.
@SingularityComputers thanks for answer ! great vid men ;)
Ah its good to hear someone who has constructive criticism. But it really does get a bit boring midway through. Just wanted to ask though - should i get a steel series sensei or a razer mamba?
guys i just have a question, is it necessary to remove the battery from the mamba when i turn off my computer? i was thinking of the battery being discharged or damaged.
it this sensor(tracking...) better than the imperator sensor?
Is it really usefull if I am not a complete shooting pro? Or is it like trying to look at atoms with a light microscope?
Could you please elaborate more on this? I ve been using it, recommend it to my friends, and none has tracking problems.
Q: When you switch from wired to wireless does the dock station start working instantly? Other reviewer said you have to re-plug usb cable for dock station to work.
i like your reviews dude my only question is, is the razer mamba worth £100 and is it a reliable mouse that will last, im also wondering is the razer black widow ultimate a reliable keyboard that will last and is it worth the £100, Thanks. TheTechFreaksTv
thanks!
Where do I find the program to change the colors of the mamba...
I own a Blackwidow ultimate and i'd say it's worth it.
I am a little on the biased side of Razer, but my keyboards holding up in quality and response time, and the functions it brings are fairly useful.
Also mechanic is heaven if you like/can stand the clicking noise.
When i go into the Lightning, there is not all the colors things. But my version is also:
Driver: 2.01
Firmwar Version: 1.13
How do i get your version and be able to change color on my mouse?
Do you just download that software that you can change the colors etc from the razer site????
I'm running with two Mamba; the regular version and the Elite version. Might sound like a total waste of money, and yeah, it was expensive, but being able to keep 100% uptime wireless is pretty goddamn sweet.
I have te same problem, but if you have to use the dock all the time the portablity of a laptop disapear, you can't simply walk trough th house with a docking ong your laptop
is there any promlems if you use it just a wired mode?
can the 2 buttons at the side be disabled?
This one! It has got two more buttons and its wireless. + You can change color ;)
just wondering, can you use the mouse while it is charging?
Does surface calibration work for anyone?
I have tried it on my Goliathus mat and I cant tell the difference between 1 to 10.
@SingularityComputers Yeah, I understand that. It is the "huge advantage" and "better tracking than any other mice" thing that confuses me. But thanks for the effort of the video. :)
is it a MUST to have internet connection for installiotion
how you get the mamba menu? there where you change the color:)
what with the philips twin eye sensor problem?
tte esports theron ftw! :)
does this mouse have the same shape as the Deathadder ?
How do you change through the color spectrum?
In my opinion, I'd go with the Naga epic, but that depends on what you want. Both are very solid quality, wireless, same DPI, cost about the same (mamba may be $10 more depending on store), and have all the colored lighting of the rainbow. The mamba has the extra optical sensor, while the naga doesnt, but has an entire programable side panel of 12 buttons, including differant customizable hand grips which i like. both are packaged amazing (though mamba is imo excessively overdone).
Okay, so i just got this mouse. However, is the Razer Mamba 4G the same as Mamba 2012? Just wondering since im about to download drivers and such. Would be very thankfull is someone could clear this out for me.
@LockheedC130 the only way to tell how awesome it is, is to play with it yourself. Through a video you could never tell the difference between other mice. but, the reviewer and I can confirm that it does kick ass in game.
sooo. feeling a bit stupid but how do i open the razor software on the pc?
@SingularityComputers thank you for the reply!! If you recommend the Scarab, then I will go for it!!
what do you need thoise 6.4k DPI for ? i mean, i allways use the lowest posible :S
thanks.
does it come with a usb cabel non wireless?
hey should i get this or the naga epic?
Are you change color or that system change color ?
Didn't know the Mamba could connect via bluetooth, I went for the G700 from logitech anyway. It's pretty good actually.
how do i get the software ? im new to this mouse i have had it for a few hours now
@VaiographyCA I'd actually say Deathadder or G500 of which I would say Deathadder because it's one of the only mice that has a PERFECT sensor.
@babydash123 for extreme zooming in sniper mode for example, when you zoom in a rifle the mouse gets heavier and this can solve it
Hi,
Does the logo on this mamba light up?
why when i change dpi my mamba wont show the red bars?
can i use the 2013 mamba on windows 8?
they are both two of the most reliable mouse/keyboard you can buy
personally their both good and both will last a long time, just pick the one you would use the most :)
Amazon...you can also order it from Memory express a great cdn company. Just bought one yesterday, with extended 2 year warranty.
The mamba has my thumbs up. It has an awesome feeling, tracking, look and just how stylish it looks and feels. However, I don't think that the razer blackwidow is worth what it costs. It also depends what personal preferences you have for what mechanical key switches you like. There is Cherry MX Red, Blue, Black and Brown. Blackwidow is blue BTW. I suggest you try different keyboards at shops to see which keyswitch you are most comfortable with.
