I love how you always shoutout the cover artists Petrik 😊
Thank you, Grace! I try my best! :D
Lots of excitement for 2024! The sequel to The Edan Trilogy is called While Darkness Gathers, and it's a standalone. I'm currently hoping that I will have it out in late summer of 2024 -- probably August. I'm incredibly excited to see what you think of The Prophet of Edan when you're able to get to it, Petrik!
Thank you, Philip! Ah, that's the title. I probably should've asked you about it first. While Darkness Gathers is a great title! :)
@@PetrikLeo Thank you, my friend!
LETS SEE WHAT PETRIKs WAITING FOR
A LOT
The ones I am most looking forward to from this list are:
Stormlight 5
Red Rising 7
The Burning 3
Bound and the Broken 4
Hierarchy 2
Still hoping that Bloodsworn 3 comes out this year as well.
Yup. All of those are some of my most anticipated books! :)
@@PetrikLeo think there is any chance of Bloodsworn 3 release? Obviously John Gwynne can take all the time he needs, but I’m still hoping it comes out.
I'm so excited for Red God!!!!
@@s.p.8508 I don't want to imply or pressure him at all in case he see this. But my prediction is it will be out in 2025. But I'm basing that based on nothing. 😅
@@PetrikLeo I’ll take it😂
I'm making this video this week as well! Though you are casting a much wider net than I am but I'm sure I'll try some of these I wasn't planning to just off of you selling them to me. Because you're always consistent in that!
Thank you, Mike! I look forward to seeing your list of most anticipated books next year! 😊
So many exciting releases! Thank you for creating this big 'ol list for us all :D
You're welcome! And yeah, many promising epic books!! 🤯
So many are going straight on my tbr! So many reads to look forward to. Thank you so much for putting the list together!
You're so welcome. Thank you for watching the video! 🙂
Oh my goodness! There is so much to look forward to!
So many! 2024 is an amazing reading year for fantasy and sci fi fans!
Thanks for all the research time and energy you put into this video - It shows and it's appreciated!
Thank you so much, Ronald! It's my pleasure. I like making lists. 😂
I vividly remember commenting on this video last year... seems like yesterday! Crazy how fast time passes! Great video Petrik, thank you!!!
Time flies too fast when we keep reading great books! 😂😂
Next year I'll have to try get back to reading again, I've been on a break (burnout) since fall of 2021 and couldn't really find the will to read. I thought I'll be back by 2023 but life got in the way. Well...... I hope 2024 is the year.
Sorry for the depressing rant but seeing this many books (as someone who has read books from most of the authors mentioned) makes me kind of miss those reading days.
No need to apologize. Burnout sucks. I truly hope your reading mojo will be back next year! :)
Epic video! So many books to get excited about, but I’m most pumped for Disquiet Gods! Oh and Stormlight 5 of course!
Thank you so much! Yeah those two will be super exciting for us!!
Thank you for a nice long list that I know it took time to research. I am only slightly beginning to like fantasy and learning my favorite subgenres, so this will help so much. My favorite videos of the year are the anticipatory ones.
You're so welcome! I'm glad this video can be beneficial to you and other readers! :)
I can’t wait for “The trials of the empire”. I’ve loved the series so much, so far. Also the new James Islington book. Plus, I love the amazing titles Islington comes up with for his books! And Stormlight 5 would be the cherry on top for the year.
Me too! I think James Islington come up with some of the best titles. The books in the Licanius trilogy and also The Will of the Many are all distinct title! :)
Great list Petrik! My two most anticipated are Empire of the Damned and The Trials of Empire. I also picked up a few more books for my TBR from this video, so thanks!
Thank you so much! Oh yeahh, both Trials of Empire and Empire of the Damned are being released next month, too! :)
Great video, I just pre ordered the gunmetal gods !
Thank you so much! I want to read Gunmetal Gods, too, this year!
I'm still working off of your 2022 list and I've branched off of it since finishing some on that one. I need more time!
I need more time, too. I still have many 2022 anticipated releases I haven't read! :D
This is the exact video i wanted to see! Please do updates quarterly throughout next year when we get more book announcements. 😊
Thank you! That sounds like a good idea. I'll see whether I can implement that next year! :)
Strength of the few, and Disquiet gods! So excited. I am glad I followed your suggestion on Will of the Many. My wife and I both loved it. Best fantasy school I have read in a long time - and great world building.
Very exciting isn't it? I'm happy you loved The Will of the Many. I agree it is such an AMAZING fantasy book with the magical school trope!
This video is a true testament to your dedication to books, fandoms and the love of everything SFF, I started reading Stormlight towards the release and have a few others on my radar. Thanks Petrik!
Thank you, Yaniv! Haha, I still have a lot of books to mention. It was difficult narrowing it down to 40. I missed Drumindor by Michael J. Sullivan!
@@PetrikLeo
Well you could always do a part two of this video in six months when more dates and releases will be confirmed
the cover for fathomfolk is sooooo gorgeous! this will definitely be a cover buy for me
It's so beautiful! I have an ARC of it and it looks beautiful already. The hardcover will be gorgeous!
Death by TBR 🤣🤣 Thanks for this video, Petrik. My tbr just exploded but I'm very excited.
You're welcome! My TBR exploded all the time too. 😂😂
You have all my most anticipated on here, I can't wait for Red God, Wind & Truth or The Strength Of The Few! I hope Abercrombie can maybe sneak The Devils in there as well.
I gotta say the way you talk about The Dreams of the Dying has me really tempted to pick it up!
The Devils will be released in 2025, otherwise, it would appear here! Definitely pick up Dreams of the Dying if you love character-driven grimdark fantasy! :)
You have all three of my most-anticipated on your list: Disquiet Gods, Trials of Empire, and Mercy of the Gods. What a great year 2024 is going to be. Honourable mention to Empire of the Damned.
I know right!? If Red God and book 7 of Sun Eater is out too, MANY big series are ending next year.
Great video! I'm looking forward to The Trials of Empire. I purchased the first 2 books in the trilogy- haven't read them yet- but I know they're going to be fantastic. And I wanted to thank you: you recommended for me to try Mistborn next, and I started yesterday. It's so GOOD! I'm already sucked into the plot- I love the dark ashy world, and the magic system is so interesting! I'm only partway through it- but I already went ahead and ordered The Well of Ascension. Thanks, Petrik!
Thank you so much! I am so pleased to hear you're loving Mistborn trilogy, Tiffany. The series is responsible for making me love adult fantasy novels! The Well of Ascension and Hero of Ages are both incredible, too. Enjoy! :)
The art for "The Dollmakers" looks stunning. Added to the TBR. Thank you. Besides the ones you mentioned I want to try another debut "The Dance of Shadows" by Rogba Payne. I will also give T. Kingfisher a final chance with "What Feasts at Night", the continuation of "What Moves the Dead", the only book I loved from her. Hoping from some surprises from R. F. Kuang or M. L. Wang.
I am so looking forward to reading The Dollmakers. Also, Dance of Shadows by Gourav Mohanty! I forgot to include that. Arghhh. I hope there will be news from Kuang and M.L. Wang! :D
Hi 👋 wow I’m excited for Brandon Sanderson book 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 thank you for a wonderful video 🎥🎥🎥🎥
Thank you! :)
Nice list😎
Thank you! :)
Really waiting for Empire of the Damned
I'm envious of those who has the ARC!
I just picked up the audio of Godkiller and plan to get to it soon and fingers crossed I love it too because the books are BEAUTIFUL!
I hope you'll love the series so you can justify buying the physical books! 😃😃
I’ll never keep up with all the amazing new fantasy books coming out! 😫
The cover art for Foul Days is so stunning
That is so true on both accounts! 😂😂
16:13 omg I'm so excited for the strength of the faw
that last chapter really hyped me up
Oh yes. The last chapters and epilogue was insanely mindblowing!
Great list of books. I hope you and I get to many of them.
These plus many others I have planned for the year make it very tough to complete. Finally, happy to see some second and third volumes coming out so now I can read some I have held off, Daniel Abraham, Lawrence, Islington, Swan, Virdi. No George Martin, or others in there, LOL.
Thank you so much, Frank! You and me both. I've been waiting for the third book of these trilogies hahaha. And oh my god. No point including GRRM or Rothfuss. 😂😂
Thank you for the overview, Petrik! Very handy. Regarding Sun Eater Book 7: Christopher Ruocchio said in his latest live stream that his publisher already filled all the slots for their 2024 releases with other books, so SE7 will most likely be scheduled for spring 2025.
Ah, it's too bad Sun Eater 7 is scheduled for Spring 2025. Maybe this is a sign I should do a reread of the series early 2025... 🤣
Well, my TBR and bank account are crying already 🤣
I think Empire of the Damned, Knights of Wind and Truth, The Tainted Cup and The Godeater saga are my most anticipated on this list. But I am honestly very excited about all of them, both the tried and true authors, and the exciting upcoming authors!
Some additional ones for me are The Familiar by Leigh Bardugo, Alecto the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir, How to Become a Dark Lord and Die Trying by Django Wexler and A Sorceress Comes to Call by T. Kingfisher.
Thanks for sharing your list!! 🤩
The bank account will have to do its best for sure next year. So many book releases I want. I'm about halfway through The Tainted Cup and it's so damn fun! I forgot Alecto the Ninth is being released next year. Though I still have to read Nona first. 😂
@@PetrikLeoLove to hear that Tainted Cup is looking good for you so far!! Will keep my eyes peeled for the review!
And Nona is suuuuch a wild book, I am curiuos how it's gonna land for you. I hope to do a reread of the whole thing before Alecto!
Think you have some of the best taste in fantasy books. I just can't read as many as you. You have become my tbr list 😆
I have become your TBR list is such a lovely praise. Thank you so much! 😂😂
I'm SO pumped for Disquiet Gods
I will catch up before the release of Disquiet Gods! The plan is to read Kingdoms of Death and Ashes of Man in January and February! :)
Many of these are my most anticipated releases as well! Especially:
- The Bound and The Broken 4
- Stormlight Archive 5
- Red Rising Saga 7
- Hierarchy 2
- Empire of the Vampire 2
- The Sun Eater 6
I can’t wait to get to these 🤩💫
I totally approve all of these books. Next year will be amazing! :D
New bookshelf tour soon? Your setup looks amazing. 🔥
Most likely in December or January! There are still some books coming and I'm trying to organize them all into something presentable. 🤣
That sounds great! I'm really hyped for the tour. 😍 We've got similar reading taste and your collection is just stunning.
Good to know that Bound & The Broken will officially be 5 books. I wasn't aware of that, and am waiting for the final book to be close to release before I dive in.
Knowing Cahill, late 2025 or 2026 will most likely be the end of the series!
Man, this is my first time hearing about Godeater and looks like a super cool way to do things, bummed I missed the kickstarter :(
I think Rob mentioned the books will be available outside of Kickstarter too. Not in these hardcover editions though!
Always crediting the cover artists in your videos is top tier booktuber 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻
Cheers! I try my best to always include artist when the cover art or interior art is being discussed. 😊
Would love to see a book shelf tour if you haven't done one already!
I plan to make an updated bookshelf tour video next month or in January! 😁
I might try The Tainted Cup. His debut standalone novel, Mr. Shivers, was very good.
I haven't read that one, but I plan to read everything by Robert Bennett! 😁
I’m hoping to read through all of Mistborn and Stormlight before the new Stormlight releases.
Also looking forward to Trials of Empire, Strength of the Few, The Book that Broke the World, Empire of the Damned, and Of Empire and Dust.
Looking forward to more of these, but haven’t started most of the series yet.
Glad you're looking forward to them. Always glad to have series you're excited to read even if you haven't started them. I have a lot of them, too! :)
So few months for so many books! Can I bring a bit more anxiety into our TBR piles with Between Dragons and Their Wrath by Devin Madson and Blood of the Old Kings by Sung Il-Kim? 😝
Oh noooo!!! I forgot to include them. I look forward to them too. Dammit! 🤣
Love these! Also looking forward to ‘The Dance of Shadows’ by Rogba Payne and ‘The Devils’ if Joe makes the cut for 2024.
Thank you! The Devils is slated to be released in 2025! 😁
My most anticipated books this year are _The Daughters’ War_ by Christopher Buehlman and _White Wing, Dark Star_ by Marlon James.
Daughters' War by Christopher Buehlman is one of my most anticipated, too! I got the book and looking forward to reading it! :)
I'm so looking forward to Disquiet Gods, which by the way is confirmed to be released on April of 2024. He's already finalized the outline for book 7 ahhh! I'm planning to reread each book in the series every month till April arrives just to make the wait go by quicker!
Yeah! I included Disquiet Gods in this video already. I hope there will be more news for book 7, too!
Hi there Petrik. Thank you for your kind words in response to my last post. I really appreciate it. My arm is definitely better. I just have to work on getting my rotator cuff and my arms and shoulder blades stronger. I also wanted to let you know that late this past Saturday night, I stayed up past 1 in the morning, and I have finished listening to the Hero of Ages by Brandon Sanderson. Boy that ending was sad and unreal. I loved it. Thanks to your advertising, I might end up jumping between listening to the Stormlight Archive series, the Ryan Cahill series, and the Sun Eater Saga series, and the Mistborn era 2 books during the end of this year and throughout next year. Thanks for that.
Thank you so much, and you're welcome! I'm glad to hear your arm is better and you loved the ending of Hero of Ages. It was truly bittersweet, imo. :')
@@PetrikLeo I think so too. It shocked me that Sazed was the hero of ages. I loved Ellend and Vin as a couple, and once again, just like Robert Jordan did in the WoT, Brandon Sanderson wound up throwing in one maybe two romances out of nowhere. Also, today I started listening to the Allow of Law. The banter between Waxillium and Wayne was actually pretty entertaining. Sanderson definitely wants his readers to understand and know how important it is to be who you are on the inside. Staying true to yourself. That's powerful. I like the fact that Wax and Wayne use Allomancy to help save people.
@@PetrikLeo Also Petrik, if you like characters who use a special power to help save people, then I have a feeling that you will love the A Certain Magical Index light novels. The main characters Touma Kamijou and Mikoto Misaka both have special powers and use them to save people. Touma has the Imagine Breaker, which kills illusions while Misaka is an electromaster.
Before the Witchwood Crown make sure you read the bridge novella The Heart of What was Lost.
I will read that next month. Don't worry. :)
I remember recently someone complaining (maybe discord?) about Ruocchio’s and many authors using western themed ideas(Roman ideas etc.). Well Gunmetal gods is definitely different!!!! I hope they check out the books. I love them and they are very unique.
I think that was on my Howling Dark review on Goodreads! Good to know you have read and loved Gunmetal Gods! Once I have this ultimate edition next year, I'll begin reading the series! 🤩
The art looks fantastic too!
Disquiet Gods is going to be fire. I didn't figure Red God was coming next year. I still need to read The Bound and the Broken but I'm hyped for it. Need to read Dandelion Dynasty too. I'm currently doing a re-read readalong of Realm of the Elderlings, and that won't wrap up til next April or so, and that honestly keeps me from reading much at the pace I'm currently going, as I've been in a slump since the beginning of August.
Many speculated Red God will be coming next year, but it is not fully confirmed yet. I guess we will see. I am so pumped for Disquiet Gods even though I'm only two books into the series. Also, I seriously need to do a reread of The Realm of the Elderlings eventually! :)
@@PetrikLeo I was reminded this morning that Mike interviewed Pierce Brown, and Pierce said even if he turned in Red God early, the turnaround time for publishing would be about a year, and he said best case April 2025.
Oh no! Really? Well, I guess it's not coming out next year then!@@praetorxyn
Hope to get to Tad Williams’ «The Dragonbone Chair» and Giles Kristian’s «Lancelot» next year!
Recently finished my «Edan Reader Discussion» with our dear Professor Chase, and he gave some clues for the sequel that you might find interesting! 😊
I look forward to hearing your thoughts on The Dragonbone Chair and Lancelot. I'll catch up to Edan trilogy as soon as I can! :)
THE CURE FOR LIVING.
I say this with the front of my shirt covered in drool and my keyboard clicking loudly under the weight of my stabbing fingers.
Holy shit, I can't wait for that book, I'm so excited. Also, disappointed that it appears there's not even a tentative date for the third book in The Five Penalties. I want to read the second book so badly but not when the third one doesn't even have a title or a whiff of a release date.
Great video as always, P. When are you planning to reread Stormlight Archive? I might shadow your read in a non official read along.
Thank you, friend! Hahaha, I hope more news on Cure for Living will be ready soon. I haven't heard anything regarding the third book in The Five Penalties, though. I'm in the same boat as you. Waiting for the third book! And for Stormlight Archive, I'm not too sure yet but I have a feeling it will be in June! :)
@@PetrikLeo Awesome. I also just saw on the author's website the release date of To Burn All Belief (Dance of the Sibling Suns book II). I plan to read An Ocean of Others between today and tomorrow in anticipation of its sequel. I'll let you know how that goes. :)
Truly surreal, I really hope Kavithri lives up to your expectations, and such an honour to be on your list. Thanks Petrik
You're welcome. Looking forward to reading Kavithri! 😁
Adding most of them to my TBR :) ty
What about Heavenly Tyrant by Xiran Jay Zhao? I don't remember if you have ever talked about the first book in the Iron Widow series
Woohoo! Hmm, I haven't read Iron Widow yet! Not sure whether I'd like the book or not. :D
I absolutely CANNOT WAIT for Stormlight 5. I already know I'm going to take the week off of work so I can blow through it as fast as possible.
Yessss! The excitement for Stormlight 5 is unreal. 🤯🤩
@@PetrikLeo so unreal. I'm going to do the same thing for Red God as well.
My most anticipated (at least ones I already have pre-ordered or will pre-order as soon as I can):
1) The Navigator's Children
2) Stormlight 5
3) The House of Open Wounds by Adrian Tchaikovsky
4) The Trials of Empire
5) Song of the Huntress by Lucy Holland
Ooh, I forgot about Shauna Lawless's series. Definitely highly anticipated too.
Awesone list, Angela! I haven't read Lucy Holland's but I'm excited for the rest you mentioned! 😊
Great list of titles to look forward to. I see there is a television series called A Murder at the End of the World. Talk about confusing titles
Thank you! Oh I didn't know there is a TV show with that title. 😂
The Navigator's Children by Tad Williams is number 1 for me, followed by Red God by Pierce Brown, and of course, anything by Ryan Cahill.
Amazing books to look forward to! Fingers crossed Red God will be out next year!
Empire of the Damned, Mirrored Heavens, The Lord of Demons, and Red God!!! All are on my list of Most Anticipated! I hope I can finish the first of The Bound and the Broken so that I'm ready for that possible new release! 🙏 📚📚📚
Very excited for them all! Although, I just heard confirmation that Red God is not being released in 2024. It will be in 2025. Oh well!
@@PetrikLeo 😳...😭
Hi leo!! Im hype for stormlight to😤🔥😊. On 2024 im antisapating:
.Slayers,colectors edition 5
.visions 2023
.vampire hunter d vol.30
.stormlight 5
.stormlight 2 leatherbound
.Rurouni kenshin novel
Awesome! I look forward to Words of Radiance leatherbound too. 😃
You should have mentioned The Winds of Winter and the Doors of Stone (just for fun, you know what I mean) 😁
Don't forget Thorn of Emberlain. 😂😂😂
It’s got to be The Thorn of Emberlain…. please let this finally be released 🤞
I was going to include that. Then I remember he said he will release three novellas first, and so far there's no sign of that happening. 😅
@@PetrikLeo haha so true! I won't bother holding my breath then 😆
I don't have nearly as many anticipated releases, but the ones that I am looking forward to:
The Lie That Broke the World by Mark Lawrence
The Slain Divine by David Dalglish
The Trials of Empire by Richard Swan
Hidden Queen by Peter V Brett
Lyorn by Steven Brust
Into the Rift by Clay Harmon
The Strength of the Few by James Islington
The Dark Drinker by Zamil Ahktar
Knights of Wind and Truth by Brandon Sanderson
Heck yeah. These are amazing list, too. Hidden Queen is the only I'm skipping. 😂
Ugh just preordered a ton more books 😅
Sounds great to me! 😅
I unfortunately did not love The Art of Prophecy by Wesley Chu, one of my most disappointing books of the year. It got a low 3 star (probably more a 2...). I haven't heard of most of these so thanks for making the pre order list for next year longer aha
You're welcome! And that's too bad! Here's hoping I'll enjoy Art of Prophecy more than you did. 😊
Disquiet Gods and I'm really hoping for Dungeon Crawler Carl 7
I need to start reading Dungeon Crawler Carl! 😊
Petrik do you have info about the will of the many sequel releasing in 2024 ?i think i saw a video with james islington saying that he needs one and a half to two years per book release.
Last I heard, Strength of the Few will be out in 2024. But again, things could change! I think James will release an update in December or January. We'll see!
Seth Dickinson's Exordia coming out on January 23rd I cannot wait
Nice!!
The book that wouldn't ship, sorry for your issues, but your pun is excellent.
Haha, thank you! At least this brilliant pun appear because of the book. :'D
Which edition of The Tainted Cup do you plan to get, Petrik? I’m curious about which one you prefer, they’re so different from one another
Oh no, I'm still not sure. It's a tough question. The US edition will match my Founders trilogy, but the UK edition is more beautiful. Aaaaa!
If Cahill and Sanderson both release in November I think I'll have to take time off work!
Together with Navigator's Children by Tad Williams, too!? What a reading month!
@@PetrikLeo I have never read anything by Tad Williams, though I have Dragonbone Chair waiting to be read next year! I'm also going to start reading Curse of the Mistwraith soon.
Do you know anything about the bloodsworn saga by john gwyne? I cant wait for book 3
The title is Fury of the Gods, but other than that, I don't know anything else. 😅
All of my most anticipated releases of the next year are present in this video:Disquiet Gods,Empire of the Damned,Stormlight 5,The Strength of the Few,Red God and Of Empires and Dust. I predict that 2024 will be awesome for readers. Is The Will of the Many your Book of the Year ? Mine is Swan Song with Boy's Life very close on the second place.
Woohoo! 2024 will be an amazing reading year. For now, The Will of the Many or Light Bringer are my book of the year. I'm about to read Demon in White so things might change! But The Will of the Many is definitely my favorite fantasy book of the year.
Daughters War
Tainted Cup
Glass Immortals book 2
Blood sworn saga book 3
Walk in Shadow
Fire Sacraments book 3
Dark Water Legacy book 3
Gets my vote
Other than Glass Immortals, I certainly would be thrilled if all of those are released next year!
@@PetrikLeo I’m hoping McBrian puts a bit more effort into the sequel!
what about John Gwynne's Fury of the Gods (Bloodsworn Saga 3rd book)?
Nothing confirmed yet, and I don't want to put any pressure on John Gwynne's writing in case he sees this video. 😁
Can you recommend an awesome trilogy not boring or where it has ghosts or vampires. Something very action packed. 😎
Empire of the Vampire trilogy by Jay Kristoff! It is not finished yet, though.
@@PetrikLeo with no vampires if possible sorry forgot to add above.
Hoping for Bloodsworn book 3 is out next year
I hope so too!
@@PetrikLeo It's my favourite trilogy so super pumped for it!
A lot of books have not been released in paperback yet even for this year - Lords of Uncreation - Light bringer - the shadow casket in Amazon usa still waiting for them
Paperback will usually take 6 months or a year before they're out.
Stormlight 5 ❤
What are your top 30 Fantasy series Petrik?! 🙏
Hahaha you can watch my updated top 15 completed fantasy series! I'll post an updated top 15 ongoing fantasy series this year!
@@PetrikLeo It would be pretty interesting a top with completed/not completed Fantasy series altogether.
Even though Asoiaf is not completed its my 4th favourite series of all time!
1.Cosmere 2.First Law World 3.Wheel of Time
@@noname3609 i probably will make that someday. But at the moment, my criteria for completed and ongoing series are so different. It's hard to rank them accordingly and fairly. 😅
@@PetrikLeo I see Petrik! You have read so many books.Your enthusiasm for Greenbone Saga made me buy it and I will start IT in December! Ty 😀
Right now I am enjoying A little hatred so much!!!
Me: I do not follow new releases
Also me: gets my notebook ready 😁
Gogmagog by Jeff Noon and Steve Beard is so good. Other than that, my most anticipated release will be The Navigator's Children by Tad Williams.
I am leetle curious about Song of Mysteries but I can't reread 10 books, I just can't and the fandom isn't big enough to do voluntary summaries. Disquiet Gods by Ruocchio I think I will wait until Book 7 and read.
Stormlight 5! The moment of truth. Sanderson also doesn't do summaries but a) somehow I remember Stormlight better b) There are Wikis out there to help.
Those are the ones I am going to read.
Happy reading and thanks so much for this list!
P.S. At the risk of disappointium, Winds or F&B 2?(notice I didn't mention Doors, improvement! 🤭)
Oh nice! I have to read Gogmagog! And I look forward to reading all of Tad William's books. My excitement for Stormlight Archive 5 is so intense. Cannot wait to experience the hype when it's out! Btw, what is F&B 2?
@@PetrikLeo Got an eARC of Gogmagog to read and review, very well-written and wild ride. I enjoyed it.
F&B 2 = Fire and Blood 2.
Petrik silently giving me eye roll for the hopium but too polite to say anything 🤣
❤
What about the last book from R.S. ford - engines of empire series?
Oh I didn't know that one is coming next year! I haven't started reading the series yet. 😂
@@PetrikLeo it should be next year but the author told me the final book will be delayed. If you like mysteries I have plenty of recommendations. I am a mystery encyclopedia but I have started reading YA fantasy. Just one series so far.
If we ger Red God next year I will be a very happy man!
Yeah me too!
I'm probably delusional since I hope we get The Winds of Winter next year...hopeful but expecting to be disappointed.
I am not hopeful enough to include that or Doors of Stone. 😂😂
@@PetrikLeo I fully understand that, it probably gets old fast when you could include it in more than 10 of these videos and at this point, it wouldn't make any sense anymore 😅
Hey petrik, what is the 4 book series behind you, seems flying boat and wing beings
That's The Dandelion Dynasty by Ken Liu. The Broken Binding edition! :)
@@PetrikLeo thank you , it seems you loved them, so looking forward to reading them
Hi Petrik. Sorry for the next question and it hasnt nothing to do with this but what do mean when you said in a lot of reviews and spotlight "told in a modern voice"?
The writing style and story structure between classic fantasy and modern fantasy often differs. But when I say that, it's usually to talk about fantasy books, with modern fantasy prose and pacing, implementing classic fantasy tropes.
@@PetrikLeo thank you for explaining this to me:)
I thought this was a beautiful steelbook. Got it a little while back. I didnt even know the first two seasons has steelbooks, but i also never thougtht i wouldnt want to rewatch them either
Huh? Are you commenting on the wrong video? 😅
@PetrikLeo i started typing this while watching another video, finished it while your video was running. I didnt realize it didnt post to the right place. 😂😂😂
But the context is Star Trek: Picard Season 3 has a nice steelbook edition.
Mistland book 2 (Sequel of Eleventh Cycle) not releasing in 2024?
No confirmation yet as far as I know! :)
Haha I am aware of about 5 book releases per year, let alone excited for all of them and you hit us with the here are some of the 41** books you're excited about
I'm sure I still miss out on some, too. I forgot to include Drumindor by Michael J. Sullivan. What the... :')
Amazon US says Empire of the Damned is going to be released March 12th.
Yeah but it's being released in UK first on February 29th.
@@PetrikLeo Good to know! Thanks. Yay!
So no Bloodsworn (John Gwyne) this year then. Am disappointed
Nothing confirmed yet as far as I know. Except the title is Fury of the Gods. 🙂
Red god isn’t coming next year
Yeah found out about it since I posted this video.
The only video I need to bookmark going into 2024 😍 Thank you Petrik 🤎
You're welcome, and thank you for putting your faith in my video! :)
No book can ever touch Lancelot ....I am looking forward to Arthur, vainly hoping that it can somewhat recreate the reading experience of Lancelot... Lancelot is just heartbreakingly beautiful
Yeah I have to agree. Lancelot was special. The tone and narrative was beautiful and emotional! :)
I get scared whenever I watch your videos as you always add more books to my never ending TBR🫣🫣
My never-ending TBR need to be read, too! :')
It never ends but I’m looking forward to the new releases 😊
🥲all these books going to blow huge hole in my wallet. Thanks Petrik, for making me poor.
Hahaha! I will wish you more wealth so you don't end up poor from buying books! :D
