    Gotta love these 2g 4g64 engines. Can hold a lot of power for a reasonable amount of money. I just put one into a gst shell bc my spyder shell was way to gone to fix.

      April Stanley i have a 2g spyder 96 eclipse you think i should modo my 4g64 por can i swap a 4g63 in muy 96spydey?

      bobby choch if yours is a 4g64 I’d leave it in there and turbo it. Do the timing belt and stuff and turbo it. I got a 16g on mine and it’s been running good with no problems at all. Or if you want take the head off the 4g64 and put a 1g or 2g head on it.

    4g63 and 4g64 are basically the same exact block. Im running a 4g64 with a 63 dohc head in my gst with hybrid 63/64 pistons

    Hey men, I have 2g spyder 4g64 but I rotate de pipe water 180* with radiator gst and I use a hose 90* , and work very very fine, thx for up your machine 😍

    I am researching building turbocharging my 4g64 oulander. I would need to do some research for spacing but your saying if I got a stock 63 turbo manifold it would bolt on to the 63. Also are u running stock ecu settings on the car or can it be tuned. I figured I would have to buy a proformance ecu to tune everything. Maybe have to wire it up like you do for a 63 then do that??idk also did you drill and tap the oil pan or the block to feed the turbo?? Any help would be appreciated.

    Nice build. How much psi are you running? I've read a lot about the stock bottom end not able to handle 10+ psi and last due to the N/A pistons, I've read the rods are pretty much the same as the 4g63's. But most pushing 7-8psi to daily drive it reliably. Might grab me a Spyder an do the same... Any tips to help me along the way? Not trying to make crazy power, a comfortable 300whp is enough for me.

    I have a cherry 2003 outlander 4g64 low miles i rebuilt the motor for dependability and put headers on it you think i can do the same swap as the spyder?? If not its a good everyday just a cheap car id like to do a little with not many built outlanders.

    Hey i have a 1992 mighty max with the 4g64 sohc manual, and i bought a 96 gst auto. You think everything will swap over from the eclipse to the mighty max the same? Love what you did by the way

      How about just everything else but the block. Like turbo manifold, turbo, ecu, fuse box...?

      Yeah Me too I have the same truck as you a 1992 Mighty Max 2.4L and am wondering how to turbo it Too. I got a turbo Exhaust manifold from a 1988 Cordia Turbo . It will bolt right up to your existing head. But i'm Just not sure about the ECU, and intake manifold. injectors etc. Might Just be easier to just do a head swap w/a 2 g DOHC head and wiring from a 2G eclipse or galant.

    Would have been nice if you gave more information. Even today there is very little information on how to turbo a 96-99 Eclipse Spyder GS. In fact most the good info has disappeared due to sites going offline long ago that held a lot of info. There pretty much never existed anything detailed enough to make it easy to do though, there is always a lot of necessary information left out.

    you say the sohc revs to 7500 just fine? do i need to do any bottom end stuff for that? im really new to this engine and im trying to build a track/half daily 3g eclipse, looking for about 400hp

    What injectors did you use stock GST 2.0l and did you change the injectors resistor box with the 2.0L one. Also I know you need the oil pan from 7 bolt and best to get a SS feed line and feed from oil pump

    why not do dohc swap from 1g talon , i like build and everything just wondering, i have the gs block with 1g dohc with 2.6 stroker kit on thats im building

      gotcha was just wondering and what dohc are u talking about there not quite the same at all and u rev higher rpm with dohc

    Nice job but isn't easier to just flash the ecu after the turbo is bolted up

    Hey dude, i have an Eclipse GST and want to put a 4g64, its necessary to change all the engine wires, or just plug the non turbo ECU? I need to change engine sensors connectors?

      Thank you man! Im going to do this change. I paid for a forged 4g63t that never worked well, tired of spending money. I will keep the wires and GST fusebox too. Maybe in the future i can put the 14b turbo and do exactly what you did.

      Nice! But its rare to find a 4g64 from a spyder here, im thinking about using the Mitsubishi Expo (Spacewagon) 4g64 (94-95) engine, somes have the ECI MULTI label on the admission. They don't look to use the same sensors, maybe will fit this engine or its the same thing?

    I know it was 6 years ago but I have questions. I have a 4g64 in my 99 Spyder, I also have a 4g63t from a 97 GST hardtop. I have the wiring harness,ecu everything. How hard is my swap gonna be? Do you know what will be different

      Not too bad if you have both harnesses.... fues box harness and engine harness from the gst 4g63 will plug and play into the 99 spider. Have to swap both harnesses through. Plug and play under the dash.

      @@yami4g63 i thought 4g64 engine are 2.4 liter engine , if you use 3sgte pistons it will be smaller on block, correct
      me if i'm wrong

      @@yami4g63 Good info here. I just picked up a 99 Spyder and I have turbo goodies left over from my Galant VR4 build. No electronics tho. It does have a blackbox ecu, but Im reading that support for ECUflash is declining...
      Do you think upgraded fuel injectors, pump e85 and AFPR would be fine for the stock ecu and a 14b?
