A sane and enlightening commentary by Dr Konrad Elst and a pleasure to hear his narration. An outsider asset that Indian leaders may wish to consider in their deliberations.

Danger of Small states: Small states are vulnerable for conversion and taking over by religions like in North-East states. Big states are strong and remain in majority against concern religions.
States should not be breakup into small places for linguistic or tribal culture. We can have multiple within one state, like states within Indian parliament where each MP speak in their language. Similiraly, example : Tulunad can be there within Karnataka with distinct culture and acceptance of Tulu language in Karnataka Parliament. TuluNad can have three languages one is Tulu & other is in Hindi, English. SO, Tulunad won't be have Kannada but will have separate distinct ness within Karanataka.
Separate state bring cost and it is good for politicians, but not for collective Indian religion.
Distinct identities within state will save local distinctness within big state. Like, India within India within India.

Is there a written work which I can get that covers these topics ? I did not find any such titles in Dr. Elsts' works.

    India had
Jaati / Khaap / Kula Panchayats.
    Gram Panchayats and Gram Sabhas
Khaap and Gram Sabha in each village is the Indian system of direct democracy,
    even in Monarchies.
Civil and petty criminal law was made or implemented by the Khaap and Gram Panchayats.
