    I still say this is the best version. John puts a lot more into it as opposed to the original. First heard this on a local bluegrass show out of Akron in the early '80s & still have a rough cassette recording of this being played there.

    My parents were at this concert and have the original boot leg on vinyl with the pic from the first part of this video.

    The first time I heard this song was in 1963. It was done at a local folk music theater, called "The Meeting Place" locatedin Upland, California. The group that did the song was called the "Ridgerunner Trio" One of the members of the trio was a guy with the last name of Stewart, his brother was John Stewart, one of the past members of the Kingston Trio. His voice was very similar to his brother John's voice
