I'd still have a problem with them systemically and the role their job plays in our society, but you are correct that I'd be much, much more forgiving. I mean, let's put it this way: There's a reason law enforcement park rangers, for example, rarely are under fire for being nasty shits. They are perfectly capable of doing it, but the mere fact you have to 1. love the environment and nature, 2. love the environment and nature so much that you get a minimum 2 or 4 year degree to work in it, and 3. are trained at entirely separate police academies speaks volumes. They are trained in educational enforcement, not...whatever the fuck is going on in a lot of/most of these videos. They aren't taught the "warrior mindset" BS and it SHOWS. I'm still nervous around some park ranger cops, but by and large they're just...really happy? Friendly? I did a minor oopsie in a park once (well, my dad did, but I was with him) and the two rangers were pretty friendly. One kinda had resting bitch face and seemed to be having a bad day, but he didn't take it out on us or threaten to arrest or anything.

I saw Hasan at a grocery store in LA once. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything.
He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?”
I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Diet Cokes in his hands without paying.
The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.
When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence from the CIA” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.
