    I've seen eagles bringing back hawklets to their nests. To predators, it's all just food.

      I've seen bald eagles kidnapping a hawk and raising it with their own babies. See Spunky the hawk raised by eagles in Canada, is here in CZcams.

    how tragic... a few hours earlier and the eaglet would have been dining on froglegs and mole... Now the eaglet is THE dinner over at the Goshawk's place.

    Goshawks seem to have similar reputations as Great Horned Owls - extremely VICIOUS! I just saw another one kidnap an eaglet.

      They aren't "vicious", they are survivors! Nobody seems to be grieving for the frog or whatever that was the eagle brought back to feed the chick. Eagles will eat anything they can pick up, and some things they can't! Is that vicious?
      The difference with the owl is that the owl could have taken the chick at night with the parent in the nest!

      @@carlwilliams6977 I was thinking poor frog, but then I remembered all the frog videos I watched especially the big bullfrogs and pixie frogs - it was a nightmare I couldn't sleep for days because it left me thinking that the bullfrog's mouth is a portal to another dimension. Thank God Bullfrogs aren't the size of a cow!

    Think they got the other eaglet too. This goes with the eagle nest where they captured several hawk chicks and fed them to the eaglets. Another nest with the same thing was around YT also.

    After close inspection, the eagle that came back first is the one who left baby eagle alone. You can tell it so shameful and guilty it would move and kept head down. And then the another one was like we done.

    You can actually hear the chick being eaten in the background, which prompted one of the parents to chase after the sound.

      It more than likely was dropped off the nest. That’s what gosh hawks doo. They fly i. Fast rip them off the nest then let them fall. The chick was calling from the ground and that did prompt the parent. If you listen, it’s calls stop shortly after the one parent goes. It likely found the chick on the forest floor and it calmed down/stopped calling. It’s odds of surviving on the floor are very slim to none but possible if they feed it still

      @@macenhoward3376 Not true at all. Goshawks can easily carry twice their own weight. And if you paid attention to the timestamp they didnt come back til 2 hours after it got snatched, it was long dead.

      In UK Goshawks have gone from being very scarce to universal in suitable habitat. They are poweful enough to tackle each other and will not hesitate to take nestlings of any size or any species. That Eagle chick would have been no problem for a Gos.

    Goshawk was perched on a limb at about 1:59, saw his chance and went for it. He was in the top right of the screen the whole time just out of frame

    I wonder if the parents ever figured out what happened or found the Goshawk dining on their chick? He couldn't have taken the chick too far away because of its weight in ratio to the Goshawk size.

      Goshawks can easily carry something that size. Also it was over 2 hours later. That Eaglet was prob being digested by the Goshawks Hawklets by then.

      Why would the Hawk drop it? Once they lock onto prey it ain't letting go til it wants to. That was no Juvenile Goshawk
