I own a classic mini (a 1973 innocenti 1300 export) with adjustable sway bars front and rear and coils Springs sach adjustable shocks and 13 in 7 inch mini lights, and I know what it's like to oversteer at about 85 miles an hour. Small movements with the steering wheel. Mine's a bored and stroked to 1480cc at about a hundred 135 horsepower with a mini Sport five speed close ratio box and a 4;11 final drive. Fantastic driving.
Honda vtec + British chassis engineering from 1959= one very strange but potent parcel.Did any one else notice it passes bikes wit no problems?.As a biker this really perturbs me.

the ring is not classed as a race track, it is officially a toll road so no helmet needed just pay your toll and off you go! I'm still waiting for a pay rise to build the ultimate v-tech mini its been a long time in development but plans are progressing well. watch this space....
old british cars handle very very well..i have one my self i can most bends at 80mph+ and we have round abouts here and in the wet i can do one at 50mph (depending on the size of it) but its not easy !! all on private property by the way ;) i own a round about :D
I agree, this isn't a final qualifying run. You did a great job demonstrating how well a 30+ year old car with a ton of power and traction can compete despite a driver not following a line, passing on the outside, inside, on the grass, overcompensating on almost every curve. This car should never skid. I love this video, I just wish the run or driver was better.
@andysllt omg could not agree more it started my need of wanting a mini , yet sadly im still getting there as i bought something new i could rely on first but this will be mine one day and to any one that hates who cares we all know how much fun this fine machine is!

Oh, puhleese. He was black flagged for aggressive takeovers. He went offroad repeatedly, in the longer 30+ minute video. I'd swear the way he over-recovered, downshifted too soon, it was lap 1 of qualifying, if it wasn't just a training lap. He did not drive well, evidently they decided to chop the video and only show the best 9 minutes of the older video. I don't think I'd drive quite as aggressively as he did leading into some of those hairpins, but I think he didn't know the course, or else he wouldn't have either. When you're bunnyhopping sideways trying to keep it paws-down, there's things you should do, and uh... he invented new things.
