  • The Bristol 188 was a British supersonic research aircraft designed to explore the limits of supersonic flight at high altitudes. It was designed and built by the Bristol Aeroplane Company in the 1950s and first flew in 1963. The 188 had a distinctive appearance, with its long slender delta wing, and a long pointed nose that housed the cockpit and a radar.
One of the main goals of the 188 was to test the feasibility of using stainless steel as a material for supersonic aircraft. The aircraft was also used to study the effects of high temperatures and speeds on various materials and structures.
Despite its promising design, the 188 suffered from a number of technical issues during its development and testing. The aircraft was plagued by engine problems, and the engines had to be replaced several times during the testing phase. The 188 also had stability issues, which were exacerbated by the aircraft's long, narrow wings.
In addition to these technical problems, the 188 was expensive to develop and maintain, and it had a limited flight envelope. The aircraft was only able to fly at supersonic speeds for short periods of time and at high altitudes, and it was not capable of carrying a significant payload.
As a result of these issues, the Bristol 188 was never put into production, and only two prototypes were ever built. The aircraft remains an important part of aviation history, however, as it helped pave the way for future supersonic aircraft designs.

Think it had a few endurance issues !

What's the point of having a channel where you only use text to speech? You're going to fail, and you'll deserve it
