Hardcore ASMR - Add A Leaf Edition

- Here is my attempt at a Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response (ASMR) video. It is usually light noises and whispering. I decided to do my own rendition of it called Hardcore ASMR! Oh for what it is worth I am adding a leaf to the rear of a 2010 Chevy Silverado 1500 that was a little more saggy in the back than the customer wanted.
-Enjoy!

Okay, I've watched too many Eric O videos. I could hear him talk in my head. LOL Great video!
Me too sir
I even imagined the sound effects when the fluid film came out
At least he did the "Facebook, Insty, I can do it you can do it" outro. Was worried he'd leave that out.
🤣. A little scary isn't it?
Eric is giving us the silent treatment! 😆🤐
It's the ASMR treatment.
Thank goodness, thought I was going deaf !
Yeah, you know..
I guess we gotta get used to the new normal!😂
Nice work❤️👍
Great demonstration, thank you.
Seeing how much faster you work when you're not explaining everything makes the effort you put into making your videos worth that much more.
I hate to say it but a job like that is about self-explanatory you can see what he's doing and figure it out have a good day
@@michaelpressman7203 The same can be said for a lot of his videos, save for the ones where he gets all diagnostic-y. Gotta agree with @jerryplante4239 ; he whipped that out *fast* . I'd like to see how fast he could crank out a brake job if he didn't take his time to talk us through it.
My dad (born 1901 in the rust belt of SW PA) never bought a new car. And to all of his cars (usually a 5-10 year old Chevy), he added 1 or 2 plies from leaf springs purchased from the local junk yard. Longer U-bolts he had the local blacksmith make - and any excess was cut off with a hacksaw (he never owned an acetylene torch). Spring center bolts were available from the local parts stores. Clamps on the springs were separated using a hammer and chisel and beaten back into shape with a sledge hammer. Lubrication (if there was any) was provided from the drippings from oil cans he had used to changed his oil (there was always a little left in the can after pouring it into the crankcase, so he'd prop them up to drain them and collect what came out. Waste not, want not.). Back in the 50s and 60s, there was a choice. Non-detergent oil (cheap) or detergent oil (more expensive). Pop always used detergent. Our old cars never let us down. Torque wrench? What was that? He started being a mechanic on the model T. Eventually, he worked at a GMC garage and then on heavy equipment. Pop was the definition of an old school mechanic. He taught me a lot. This video was a trip down memory lane for me. Thanks.
Where did you grow up? I was born in Pgh.

I kept waiting for Mr’s O to come out wondering why you weren’t talking to yourself. Great vid. thanks for this! 👍
Edumacational and soothinlatin'. Also, I totally heard the ending. The insty, the facepage, and remember viewers if he can do it, you can do it, thanks for watchin'! *guitar riff and drums*
I was imagining the opening "Hey there viewers and welcome to South Main Auto."
Not even one "Son of a Mother!" I could "smell" this video, the burning rubber, the rust dust and molten metal and the thoughts of "I did not bid this job high enough"! Great Job Eric!
For years I never knew what ASMR meant until I watched your video from end to end & read a brief article on the topic. Now I finally understand ASMR !! Thanks.
Soooo whats it mean....?
I come here to listen to you talk as well your probably one of the funniest mechanics. I’ve learned a LOT from you. More then i did from the actual school I went to for this.
I think he's in a bad mood haha. Kind of a boring video without him talking.
'O'...... -_-
*you're* *than*
That's obvious by the use of then instead of than...
Maybe you should have paid attention?
@@billmalec Yep, and by the use of your instead of you're🤣👍
Well, we knew it was going to happen someday. Luna finally got your tongue.
😂
That's very good!
This was more pleasing than I ever expected. 🙃Just a master at his craft doing what he do.
Eric never really struck me as the artsy type, but damn, this was beautiful!
This could only have been enhanced by Eric talking quietly throughout in the same way he talks to Luna the cat.
Tome here wittle weaf spring, lol
And the vision, that was planted in my brain, still remains. And echos in the sound of silence.
Yep. This is Disturbed’s cover though…not the original!
Yer showin yer age buddy, lol! And the people bowed and prayed... to the neon gods they made...
Frank Vucolo. Never start a sentence with a conjunction. My English teacher would have apoplexy.

Very well said!
Well, It can't be stuck if it's LIQUID!
OK Folks, that about does it for the add a leaf here at the South Main Auto... Leave your questions, comments, criticisms, and concerns in the comments section below. Make sure to follow us on the Insty, and the Facebook, and remember, "If I can do it, You can do it!" Thanks for watching!
I like to see something a bit different from time to time but Eric you are way too entertaining, funny, educational, smart, and phenomenal at what you do to have an entire video where you are completely silent. I did like the video and definitely gets a thumbs up from me but yea what I just said.
Ahhh, the soothing sounds of white hot flamethrowers and whacking hammers on NY-blessed vehicular steel. It just doesn't get any better. Thanks as always, Eric!😁
It's all part of the NYS vehicle weight reduction kit 😆
This must have been tough! Mr O likes to talk!!
I'm not sure exactly what you wanted this video to be or how much effort you originally wanted to put in, but I love it and 1000% appreciate the stoic work you put into recording and editing just this comically pleasing video. Long time watcher, and you've hit the nail on the head yet again with exactly what the people want to see 😍😍
So much fun to watch a skilled craftsman at work!! Thanks Eric❤
That was a different Experience. I bet it was so hard for you not to speak while filming. Its amazing how popular these ASMR videos are becoming. Hope yours goes Virial
*It's* *amazing*
This is pretty much the opposite of ASMR but I do hope it goes viral.
@@simonilett998 It is :)
I never heard of ASMR before. and don't really care or want to know. no time for more bs out there. Eric is in the House! and taking no prisoners as usual. The lift saved him from adding a bunch of new holes to his clothes for this job!
You don't know how lucky you are to be able to work and not have coworkers around you flapping their gums all day
He just has CZcamsrs calling all day from Arkansas asking him why their f250 won’t start.
@@ryanalexander984 🤣
Or blasting death metal music.
best thing ive ever done was start a business working alone
The absolute worst is the modern autotune rap crap.
Literally kills brain cells.
This was great. Soothing, in its own way. I always learn something at SMA, and this was no exception, without Eric even saying a word. I especially enjoyed the silent outro.
SMA ASMR.
WTF are those hand signals? Call me an old dude.
Did my first rear brakes and rotors job today, Eric, had to replace the rear abs sensor too. Took me 3 hours lol learning curve and hand tools. Thanks for the education and the confidence boost!
So soothing. I can feel the tingles.
I could watch this all day, every day..
Your channel is amazing!
Love the torch sounds. All these wonderful shop sounds, and no other voices/drama…Muy bueno! 😎
The old torch-O-matic on size fits all man you took a nightmare of a job and made it look really simple you did a great job and you even cut off the end of the U-Hauls hanging down underneath to tie in the rear end I had a 53 Chevy van with a 327 I hung up one of the bolts sticking out under the leaf springs on a culvert in the snow and broke it I blew the rear end out and had to rebuild it in the woods with a sister Jack and one wrench it was a fun job thank goodness I was a boy scout know how to build a campfire have a great day
ahhhh...the sounds of silence
Absolutely loved this!!! You are awesome!
Perfect! Sends shivers down my spine!
The speed and precision! Had to be on a Saturday. No ringing phone, no doorbell, and the sequestered air compressor made this perfect!
Its like having Rodney Dangerfield on mute. Your voice and the laughs I get from you talking makes the channel great as it is. You are comedy gold my man.
I get no respect have a great day
You are a master of the craft , keep up the awesome work , there are not many out there who care about the job like you , most are just brutal flatraters
Just sit and listen to the relaxing sounds of the garage!
Great videos as always. Been following you for years. It's always so nice seeing someone doing something with competence. Keep it up
When he doesn't have to diagnose this guy can fly! lol always fun and learnable videos!
I love it, the consummate professional not only giving us the silent treatment but in the meantime thoroughly editing only the pertinent information makes for a fantastic tutorial no matter what language you speak
I love it !! Perfect, the visual is all that is nessary!
Eric, LOVE IT!! The essence of a mechanic, nicely done
Eric, your level of detail is always refreshing.
:-)
That’s some mighty fine torch work MrO….👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Very impressive exhibition of knowledge, skills etc. Truly a master mechanic!!
That was sick!! Brilliant! Already looking forward to the next episode in the ASMR series 😃
Oh how I love the sounds of a shop. Amazing video Mr. O!
Si está fluido, no puede atascarse.
Simplemente relajante.
Genial.
Outstanding. I love the sounds
Gives new meaning to the phrase, turn over a new leaf 🌿🍀
Eric, great to see you beat and torch on something! Relieves my stress and probably yours. Thanks for Sharing!
This was interesting. Perhaps you could do another ASMR but Mrs. O could narrate! That would be awesome!
This was great! Nicely done!
Absolutely fantastic lesson.
Never underestimate the power of the commentary that usually accompanies your videos Eric. You’re both educational and entertaining. But I may be just a little too old to understand this whole ASMR thing 😂
Yeah, I had to look it up . . .
Ill give you some AS@M
It's for neurotic types. If it doesn't appeal, be thankful haha.
I"m a little older, too, and I've seen folks on CZcams that I wish would use the ASMR in all of their their videos because they talk too much, too loud, and generally don't have much of a clue as to what they are talking about. They waste too much of my time when I'm trying to find something out.
Eric, on the other hand, I even listen to when my hands are full and can't watch at the moment. I hope he doesn't make a regular habit of this. I had several questions in the video that he "Normally" would have answered along the way. Take care.
@@tinkerscorner54 X2 !
Speechless
My first car was a 1970 Chrysler Newport. The rear end would bang, so we had to re-arc the leaf springs as you did. What fun when I got my first flat on a rear tire. Jacked the car to the top of the old post jack and the wheel never moved off the ground. Had to get several 2 x 6 boards under the jack to get the car high enough. Then needed a scissor jack to raise the axle, so the tire could get off the ground. Good thing the trunk was large enough to fit a dozen bodies, so I could carry all the parafinalia to change a flat. What a fiasco.
The strong silent type. I was beginning to think you were mad at us and didn't want to talk to us. That was a very interesting video never saw springs worked on like that before. Your the torch man.
I’ve watched many of your videos but I have to admit this ASMR was oddly satisfying! For a while there I forgot I was watching a mechanic and thought I was watching some medieval blacksmith forge a sword out of leaf springs with that torch and hammer of yours!
I never realized how much I like to hear Eric's voice. He must have been grumpy today! It's ok. He doesn't have to pretend to be chipper everyday! Because of his accent. I actually thought he was saying "Hello der viewers. Welcome to the self made auto channel". LOL love ya guys, keep up the good work and content! I enjoy it everyday.
I thought that for the longest time.
Wait, what..........that's not what he says??
South main auto channel
OMG the ending was totally AWESOME!!!!
Reminds me a bit of the old "a day in the shop" videos.
Appreciate the fact that you show us that aswell. Must be relaxing to not sit down in front of the camera and entertain us for once.
Not an ASMR-Person myself. But I like the style that you presented. Just like I could stand behind your back and watch you work as a bystander that is just there.
Good evening Eric
Thanks for the after super video..
Hello Eric
I probably should post this in a new format so everybody could see it but roughly 2 years ago I saw you using fluid film and I have a couple of very old friends at my local NAPA
I opened up a three bay garage I’ve been fluid filming ever since I have them come back in one year to check it and that stuff is just phenomenal it’s still on the frames and all of the parts all I gotta do is a little touch up and being from Springfield,Mass
I consider myself in the Rust Belt because we use a lot of salt and my customers are very happy thank you for the idea see you in the next one
Gitter dun Eric your awesome and do probably the best work on auto correct explaining of mechanic teaching 🤯
Great video! You are a true master auto tech. The best!
Excellent as always Eric O!
That was a bit weird without you comments - your voice is an integral (and important) part of this channel. Interesting video, though 🙂
I always enjoy hearing you think out loud while you're going through the steps of troubleshooting. This is cool as well though. That torch sounds great!
Fantastic ASMR video by none other than Mr Eric O. Enjoyed every bit of it, every clang, every bang!
Great stuff, and loved the ending.
Oh how difficult it must have been for you Eric to not talk during filming. After all these years and videos, it has to be like a reflex by now.
A nice tribute to your dad. He was doing all the talking right to you walking you through it as he did too many years ago
Very helpful visual video!
Like always great video. How ever I am used to here you talk and walk us through. Love your work.
I got to hear a similar ASMR last week when I was sitting in the waiting room of the local spring shop in Northeastern PA while the tech replaced the broken driver's side #2 leaf on my 2010 GMC Sierra. The book time was 3 hours, he had it done in 40 minutes... WITHOUT a lift. Being a former mechanic myself, i thought it was pretty impressive.
Eric did it just hair under 17 minutes.😂😂
I appreciate the new form factor. Love the videos, but yes I do watch the when I go to bed. The soothing sounds of blue flame wrench and the rap of a hammer. Music to my ears.
I REALLY loved this ASMR...MORE Please!
Love the video, well done take care thanks 😊
Love it...cutting torch right near the gas tank...nothing danger about that...I'm 100% sure you know exactly what your doing!
No fumes, no booms.
safety third..
He definately needs a Jedi wrench. Yeetus Deletus is a whole lot slicker with Plasma!
he has the squirt bottle, what could possible go wrong! LOL
Exhaust, suspension, and the hot wrench! Some things just go together!🇺🇸😎
It's called a hissing spanner
I loved it, the outro was one-of-a-kind!
Thanks Eric great video. 👍
Cat got ya tongue...lol
Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response is a tingling sensation that usually begins on the scalp and moves down the back of the neck and upper spine. A pleasant form of paresthesia, it has been compared with auditory-tactile synesthesia and may overlap with frisson.😂
Speaking or not,..... still one of the best channels as far as automotive work goes.
This was really good. Keep it coming 😀
Ok now this is unexpected and uncharted territory and I LIKE it.
Thanks , nice touch not talking on this one but they sounds of you working speaks 4 It self . nice ,Thanks
When you got a damn flame thrower you dont need to talk!
That was very soothing. First time I've experience ASMR. But I also missed and appreciate your commentary. As well as the sound affects for Fluid Film and Brake Clean.
Best night's sleep😴💤 in a long while thank you
Damn, that's impressive. I wonder how cost effective that is compared to just replacing the whole pack.
Wondering the same thing.
LOL, love the way you closed it out. I think this format would be great for those straight-forward repairs not needing diagonistics or explanation!!
My favorite ASMR video ever!
ASMR definitely has it's place in my rotation
That’s better than listening to the Bee Gees!

It worked! This video put me right to sleep.
the silent treatment sometimes silence is golden i loved this video hope to see more of these as always very entertaining and very educational great stuff eric
Nothing like the sounds of adding a leaf, to help ease the tensions of the day.
No words were hurt in the making of this video.
Love the non-verbal with the air impact. Cutting torch adds brisance!
very efficient wow enjoyed it a lot
