A Military Family Reunites During a Game of 'What's in the Box?'

- Ellen invited Kendra and her son Tyren to play a round of one of her favorite games, "What's in the Box?." Little did they know that it was all a set up to reunite them with Kendra's husband Peter, who has been deployed overseas for 9 months. The family chatted with Ellen and she gave Kendra and Tyren one more surprise with a trip to the Sensira Resort & Spa in Riviera Maya, Mexico!

He had to miss his son's birthday.... "And my Mom's as well." MY HEART! I don't care if there were parts of this that may have been set up (i.e. comments that the mom knew about the surprise), that boy deserved this moment, and it was a genuine surprise to him, which he made sure to include that his mom missed out on having the dad there for her birthday as well.
Plot twist: Kendra and Tyren decided to take Dave, the Statue of Liberty, on their all-inclusive trip in Mexico.
If Ellen only knew how much I'm gonna miss her doing these shows . There's no one who could ever take her place, she's the only person who can make people cry and laugh at the same time. Thank you Ellen for all of your wonderful year's of service on the Ellen Degeneres show 🙏 ❤ love always ❤

This is so nice but I feel like the mom knew. They picked the kid out but mom stood up as well, like she knew. Kid mentions EXACTLY the “fun fact” that they want us to hear. They invite the kid down and mom goes as well. Wish they could have come up with a different way to really surprise them both. Wanted them both to be surprised.
