The History of the Summer Paralympic Games

The first Summer Paralympic Games, was held in Rome, Italy in 1960-it was also the first EVER Paralympic Games. 400 athletes from 23 countries gathered, but only athletes in wheelchairs competed. Witness how the Paralympic Movement has evolved over the past 60 years to the mammoth phenomenon it is today.
