    The amount of paint they use scares me

    A good technique but I think this hobby would be an expensive one with the amount of paint to be used for spreading.

      I think there are paints specifically for impasto(?), so it already has a thick consistency.

      They are so incredibly wasteful of the pain in this video. You do not need to use that much paint. They clearly are trying to sell their paint and products. Not only that, but they truly give no real information about how to paint with pallet knives in this video. Go watch somebody else's videos if you want to learn anything useful...

    Amazing art works using pallette knives. I only bought several of a few kinds of those palette knives. I was using them for the stencils. Thanks for this demo it will expand its usage. .

    My use of palette knives are limited, haven't tried using them in painting. I have the same thought however of the amount of paints used in creating the works represented. Arteza products are great, they are pricey, the amount used would create a dense structure which I think may be created with pastes added to paint. Am I correct to conserve amount of paint used?

    • @arteza
      @arteza  Před 3 lety

      Hey Anna! You are correct to conserve the amount of paint used. If you find that you didn't quite use enough paint, you'd be able to add more paint afterward if you so wish.

      Whichever direction meets your artistic needs the best. There is no wrong way to paint.

  • @MyPlaceIR

    So the canvas itself doesn’t need any prep? Just buy any canvas and put acrylic paint... Correct?

    • @Rose-ux6kd
      @Rose-ux6kd Před 3 lety +1

      Make sure the canvas reads gesso has been applied. I’ve yet to find a canvas that hasn’t been had gesso applied. As far as any prep needed is up to the artist. On the tutorials I’ve watched some artist just start painting or blocking in on a white canvas. Some apply a thin wash of a color so they don’t have to start on a white canvas. I’d look on uTube and find a picture you like and would like to paint, then watch and see how that artist handles a blank canvas.

    This is a pretty good video especially for a company to make, but saying the numbers of the paint all the time was so annoying I had to skip a few spots in the vid. They already have color names so I don’t see why you’d have to specify the # as well. It’s already written down in the materials needed so if the customer can’t find the paint your talking it, they can just look at what you listed.
