Singapore is successful because of many factors ,mainly it's locations, high cpf saving, low corruption ,citizens who have strong discipline n willing to follow the laws n rules of society, leaders who can plan ahead , n mobilise citizens to sacrifice the immediate needs for a better future .Going forward , if citizens reach a point where it is too painful to carry on to bear the sacrifices ,then problems will arise.Leaders ,if continue to take more remunerations ,n give less to citizens,n corruptions being to erode in society. Singapore will be in great trouble.

Im proud to be a Singaporean.
    This is my opinion.
    Why Singapore succeed?
    Because God bless our country.
    Why?
Because, our leaders rooted prime attitudes to the citizens:( in random order) :
    1. We respect each other religion, cultures and colours.
    2. We uphold discipline, cleanlines, meritocracy.
    3. We are pragmatic, yet generous, warmth and firm.
    4. We are not extreme nor loose, but in between, modest.
5 We are small but big hearts.
    6. We are rational, not emotional.
    7. We don't highlighted our differences, but our similarities.
    8. Our differences does not apart us, but unite us because we see differences as strength.
    9. Our visions are far, our mission are noble.
    10. We chosed the right leaders, i.e., generally honest, kind hearted. Clarity in their mind. They knew God sees clearly what's inside their mind and hearts.
*There are more but these 10 are the least.
*All these 10 does not contradict the holy scripture but complement it, and again that's the reason we are blessed.

The problem is you actually. Yes it is true there are things that Singapore need to do in order to stay relevant so that people in it can have a place and role in this world in order to work and stay alive etc. But the problem here is for over 2 decades you are the one trying to figure out what these things are in order for Singapore to stay relevant. Other people might not have the same ideas and concepts like you and you can't represent the whole of everyone staying Singapore.
That is where the problem lies. It also doesn't help the modern current pap are people you brought into it and thus they cannot defy and say no directly to your face nor can they listen otherwise to the people either aka you build a yes men party. You have a tendency and baggage in life to prove yourself and outdo your predecessor who also happened to be your father who groomed and being you into politics and set you on this path in life. Singapore also doesn't have opposition party with power to balance and counteract pap policies either.
And lastly you want things to happen in your lifetime and that is dangerous. Because even if the things you believe and do are right but in haste it will overdone and Singapore and the weaker ones in it will feel the toll of it.
That is my summary of you. Yes you are very good for foreign jobless job seekers and rich tax evaders but are you accepted by ordinary Singaporeans instead. You know the answer to that so go use the short remaining years to reflect on that while managing your ailiing health and sickness. And lastly big deal, your predecessors have also made things easy for foreign labour and rich migrants so the things you did are nothing new and special actually. You just bend more in life doing the same things that's all.
Try not having the IBS to speak good for you too. Without them you will know the worth and value of yourself in Singapore and the people hearts.
