Retro Gaming Pandemic's Eric and I have been going pretty hard on vinyl lately; I picked up Castlevania: SotN (prob my all-time fave) and it was all over after that! My gf just gor a player actually..i remember the ony my grandma had at her house..like a huge...basically dresser lol. Good times.. Annd the glass coffee table..watchin tom and Jerry grandmas layed out some rolled up Lebanon bologna with cream cheese some chips. Price is right then her soaps..its nap time❤

The only CD player is in your car? I use my Xbox one X, or my PS3 or PS2 for playing CDs. Would love it if Sony brought back CD compatibility for their newer consoles.
Audio-Technica Sound Burger 2023 + Dali Katch One is a very good modular setup that you can use for Vinyl and to get good audio from your TV for gaming and movies.
Add a BT headset like the Sony XM5 and you can listen while other people in the house sleep👍
BTW I want to say that even though that setup seems *particularly* expensive it has many advantages:
The 2023 sound burger (200 bucks) punches WAY above its price range while also looking extremely cool:
- I just know it will become very collectible, just look at it, it's gorgeous.
- It has an included phono pre amp which makes it less expensive than higher end record players that require a separate phono preamp BEFORE the amp. So you only need a pretty straightforward aux cable to connect it to most receiver or speakers you can find in any house.
- The motor uses a belt (this prevents a lot of issues).
- Everything including the batteries are user serviceable, which is something you will be thankful for 10 years down the line.
- You can listen to it with any Bluetooth speaker, earbuds or headphones you have, you just place it on a separate surface from the speaker and you just solved one of the most annoying problems with vinyl; vibration can cause a feedback loop where the record player vibrates because of the speakers (kind of like getting a mic next to a speaker outputting the sound from the mic).
- If you decide to upgrade to a higher end record player, this one is still very much worth it because you can take it with you to test used vinyl before purchasing it.
The Dali soundbar (46Hz - 25,000Hz) is the really expensive part of this setup (1 thousand bucks, got mine for half on a sale as people now want stuff that connects directly to Spotify, Tidal, etc to which I say; bro, just use your phone):
- The "soundstage" is just perfect for the distance you normally sit from a TV.
- As easy to connect with your smartphone as any Bluetooth speaker.
- It can be wall mounted below your screen with or without included fixture or used with wooden feet it comes with, looks classy AF.
- It has a setting that allows you to make it feel the midtones more or less centered (switch to centered to listen to dialogue, wider for music, it's night and day). You are not going deaf; newer TVs have worse speakers than older TVs because they are flat, it is a physics thing, and stuff in streaming services is being mixed for higher end setups with more channels, so voices in the center channel get lost in stereo🤷♂
- It has HDMI Arc which is great for newer TVs.
- It has optical input, just connect a PlayStation, Blu-ray or even an old CD player with optical out to this input and have your mind blown.
- If down the line you want to upgrade one step further; it has a subwoofer out, meaning that if you want to improve your gear, you are ready to go.
If the soundbar I suggest is too expensive, just get 1 minirig speaker (60Hz - 18000Hz), then a second one for stereo and finally a minirig sub (48-120Hz), it will be like buying a more expensive soundbar in installments BUT you'll lose the optical in and the highest end of frequencies BUT THEN you get the best damn ever portable audio (it all runs on lithium batteries instead of a power plug).
