Industrial Tomato Cultivation: Building $1.8 Million Greenhouses | Elmcreek Farm | FS 22 | ep

Welcome back to the Elmcreek Farm Timelapse. Initially, we deployed our JOHN DEERE 9570 RT tractor equipped with a plow to till the field following the corn harvest. Concurrently, we seized the opportunity to secure a location we had long coveted for expanding our production capabilities. Our cannery, which was operating below its full capacity, prompted us to embark on a project to establish greenhouses for large-scale tomato cultivation.
Our construction journey commenced with the installation of the inaugural greenhouse, followed by site leveling and the assembly of subsequent greenhouse modules. In total, we erected sixteen greenhouse units, while also establishing essential facilities such as a Fertilizer blending station, Substrate storage, and Groundwater pump. The comprehensive expenditure for greenhouse construction approached nearly $1.8 million.
To initiate tomato cultivation, we procured the requisite components. Our in-house fertilizers were readily available and transported to the greenhouses. We also acquired pallets of substrate and tomato seeds, which were then systematically distributed across the greenhouses using a forklift. Our water supply was drawn from a well constructed on our premises, ensuring a reliable source for the greenhouses. As all the necessary elements fell into place, the first signs of tomato sprouts emerged within the greenhouses.
In a bid to maximize the utilization of the manure and slurry generated by our cattle and swine, we are concurrently establishing a fertilizer production facility and facilitating the transportation of essential raw materials to support this endeavor.

Get a seed production and distribute it to the GH its the fastes way and you are not hauling bags or pallets of seed
