      @@mbitetto67 What do you mean? SG1 did not create an alternate reality by going back in time, or at least it was never stated on-screen. They simply travelled back within their own universe's timeline. Honestly, "1969" is just an uncomfortable retcon - this is pretty common in 90s TV (Angel season 4 implies that characters and events from the beginning of the show were all manipulated, which simply breaks continuity and hurts the story they're trying to tell).

      The way they were positioned on Chulak I assumed they were some kind of ritual stones around the Chappa'ai like a Stone Henge as part of Goa'uld mythology, since it's essentially the portal of the gods to the Jaffa as we see the Jaffa priests bowing when Daniel tells them they came through the Chappa'ai, especially given they seem purposely positioned in a pattern.

    The best opening episode of anything, ever. In the UK, on MGM (via Amazon Prime), they're showing a re-cut version of this where the final battle plays quite differently, with new material creating an interesting re-cut (including multiple recognisable goa'uld aircraft and extended missile launcher scene). It also does not end with Kowalski walking up to the camera. The music has also been changed so it doesn't have the film score any more :'( Overall though the re-cut is massively better.

    • @ReasonMakes
      @ReasonMakes Před 2 lety

      People who have experienced large injuries (such as myself) will tell you that in the moment you actually don't feel any immediate pain. When my leg was sliced open to the bone by glass I was shocked by the sight, but felt no pain. It wasn't until I was halfway to the hospital that it hurt. People who have had their throats slit and survived recall the same thing. You feel pressure, are alert to being injured, take action to save yourself, and may experience shock - but do not experience immediate pain. If the blood loss is serious enough you feel will tired, like you want to lay down for awhile. Probably the most similar injury to something like this is being stabbed. I've read a few accounts of being stabbed and while the pain is excruciating, it comes a little while after the injury. Usually after you've already collapsed.
      I assume that in the Stargate universe the goa'uld would have been able to take some control over the body by then.

      Nobody is paying attention to him. Think about it. You have a ramp full of people exiting, medics tending to the wounded. Security is busy watching the new people coming in. Plus he said he was fine. A lot of things go unnoticed in a busy situation like that. Your are keeping an eye on the unknowns, not the ones who are supposed to be there.

      I hoped they would later keep the one from the mirror episode where one carter shows up with that other kowalski. But sadly they didn't.

    _Hold your fire!_ - Me: (picking up my torch) - _They're with us!_ - Me: _Do they have pitchforks?_ ... Yes, they do! 😃 ... Sorta. 🤨
    1:06 In that moment, as a director, I would have let someone else tumble through the gate and bump into Teal'c, making him fall over Carter and both sliding down the ramp. 😆 (And I would have demanded a severe pay rise not to do that.)
