There used to be a lot more painted structures In the building including the really big curtain that used to flash next to the 1st break run. Now that all the curtains that connected to each other around the building were taken out the light from outside makes it so much worse. The sound effects in the building started to sound way worse the same time they took out all the theming
This is exactly how I feel about Tower of Terror as well at WDW. It's the exact same situation with its show effects except way worse, yet no one seems to be noticing/spoke out about it.
I grew up in the area and, while it is still a beautiful park, I can say that since Anheuser Busch sold it there seem to be more issues like this.
11:35 Oh they absolutely do have the money to upkeep it. This is their most popular ride at Seaworlds flagship park. If they cared, Verbolten could be running just as well today as it did in 2012 and 2013.
Also with the part you mentioned at the beginning that there is more light bleed through, I'll talk about that a little here. The rumor that I heard was that sometime around 2018 the internal fabric walls (which are what blocks the light from the entrance and exit of the building) were removed and were meant to be cleaned and reinstalled. However, there was some sort of miscommunication between the 2 departments involved, and the walls were not handled with care. Many of them were basically destroyed, and needed to be thrown away. Neither department has taken financial responsibility for it, and because of that they haven't been replaced.
Dude, I happened to stumble across your video while looking up what may be new to BG and maybe see what is coming. I hath to say I enjoyed your video and your clear speaking and tell it like you see it way of going about it. Your that type that I could sit down and have a convo with, you seem very likable. Anyhow, I too agree they need to keep things up on this ride that ,like you said ; Originally made it a likable ride. I remember you saying that it was one of your first rides that got you into roller coasters. I don't find that hard to believe , but for me it was Apollo's Chariot. It remains one of my favorites , and yes probably has something to do with it being my first that really got me into coasters to start with, and the Smoothness of this ride is also a plus for me. Anyway, like you I am beginning a rant I just wanted to say great video, and you earned yourself a new subscriber. I will be checking out your other content, but for now.......take care bud!

Yeah I’ve always had a grudge with that same thing. I still love Verbolten and consider it my favorite cause it has a soft spot for me. It would be a dream come true of the effects were kept up including the sounds
From what I've gathered, they removed the branches and leaves when you first launched in, and after that the moon used to have lots of branches around it, and the 1st brake run there was a giant Set peace of the spirit of the black forest with flashing leaves around it that had multiple layers, then if you had the lightning effect before you entered the drop track
There were orange and pink leaves they removed, and finally, the wolves eyes are not working. Also the car out front used to smoke.

I feel so happy knowing someone has the same passion for the same issue as me. I have been hoping for many years they give Verbolten the attention it deserves. It holds a special place for me and I’d love to see it get back to its former glory. Even still, it’s my favorite there for a lot of good-time reasons
This is nothing new. When Loch Ness Monster opened, the cave had effects that slowly over the years stopped working.
Then the queue line got rehabbed and they restored the effects which again stopped working.
Fast forward to the present. The effects had stopped again, but next year, with it's rehabbed, the effects will probably be restored again.
This is a cycle with them and it's a real shame.
I think it's money. I think (not sure) that that park chain is having money issues.

Where did you hear the roof blew off the bridge?
We did the Roller Coaster Insider tour during that time frame and we were told of a planned removal, then a few weeks later it was removed.
Also it's one of my wife's biggest gripes about the park is that they shut Verbolten down for several weeks (months?) this past fall to repaint the track but they did nothing to fix the blank effects in the showbuilding and the majority of the Wolf Eyes in the drop-track tunnel don't work. There used to be a dozen or so PAIRS and now they're like 3 or 4 single eyes. All these 1-eyed wolves running around.
I visited in June 2023 for the first time and remember seeing the "surveillance" video screens flickering in one of the queue rooms with some garbled audio from Gunter, but no Gerta preshow video. The effects in the building were impressive to me (of course I hadn't ridden it earlier to compare). I adored the theming that was there overall, but I had issues with with the ride being rough and jerky, in my opinion, and I got a bad headache during the helix. I tried different trains and rows over 2 days but with the same result. I hope the old effects you speak of could be restored and also that there is some track maintenance beyond a repaint.
It the same with Manta at Seaworld San Diego I have not been to it in a few months but the last time the cool start are not working well and it is so cool when it is working well
They need to turn the tvs back on I miss watching them when in the line waiting

Recently I rode it without the effects at all. The fake wind noises was just playing the whole time inside the building. It was very strange and eerie.
Screwed up removing the Wolf.
When I was 7 years old i just recently rode the grover in the seaseme street area for the first time, and on that same day me and my parrents were walking past this car themed coaster and they thought it was a kiddie coaster like the grover. So me and my dad were in line for a kiddie ride i was somewhat nervous to get on, my instincts kicked in and i had a slight bad feeling about this but i ignired it. This was during those nostalgic busch gardens times of my childhood where my nerodivergant self would obsess over watching the escape from pompeii doors open at night to see mysterious bright red lights on the inside of that ancient structure. "What could be in there?" I always thought. The timed where i would always get a sligh whiff of my mom's angel purfume as we were walking around the park late at night.
Me and my dad were in one of the more middle rows, he was on my left and i was on the right. A ride attendant checked our restraints and my dad asked "hey, is she tall enough?" "Yea she fine"
The orange car rolled out and judging from the intense looking lap bar and no hand rail in front of me to hold onto, i had a slight feeling this wasnt gonna be as tame as we thought. But when we rolled out onto the track i realised it was gonna be okay...... well that thought aged like milk.
Suddenly it was black and i had no idea where the living fuck i was. I felt a mass amount of wind wash onto my face at what felt to be an indescribale amount of speed. I opened my eyes to see weird purple and green blobs flying past us at mach speeds, it felt like what an ant being sucked through a drain would feel. I wasnt sure where we were or if it was even part of the ride. It looked live a werid cave or some sort of forrest maybe. And that's when i felt my entire upper body get thrown and forced to stare at the floor of the cosster cars as i coudlnt see anything. I tried to lift my upper body back up and with all my might i managed to lift myself back up to feel a rush of extreme winds again. Then we stop and im like "dad dad whats happening is it over is it over?" And i look to my left to see we were in the middle of a forest. We rush down again and i hear wolves howling. I see this nonster in front of me that was about to eat us with several red glowing eyes surrounding the mouth i couldnt see. I heard crackling noises and i was hella confused if we were in a cave or in a monster's stomach. I was mostly convinced it was the ladder as i saw it's ribcage glow in blue and violet dim lighting. I was legit convinced we were in a creatures stomach being digested. That's when it got all darka again and i hear and see the red wolf eyes and i at first thought they wernt real beacuse no way wolves actualy had red eyes, but the speaker the audio of the growling and huffing anf howling convined me anyway. Then i hear a loud BANG!!! And i start to see daylight reflect off of soem sort of rail to me left.
(I was so terrified i ddint even feel the droptrack)
My dad then told me "yes its over" BUT NOPE! We sped out of whatever the hell that place or dimention was and went up a turn up to the right. I see the following turn going left and up to a beidge and i saw the track start to go upside down right as it lead into the bridge.
(At this point i had no idea rollercoaster tracks could be triangle shaped and i always throught they were flat)
And i held on for my life preparing for my first inversion. Thats when i realise we didnt invert for some reason and i saw the end of the bridge and we start dipping doen to the river and i was convinced the track ended right there and we were gonna fall into the actual river. I shut my eyes tightly and i was suprised when i opened my eyes to see msyelf at the ending brakerun. I looked at my dad in terror and shock like a scared for life WWI soldier in the trench tunnels with an emotionless shocked face. Then 15 secinds later i burst into tears. When the cars started moving back to the station i thought it was gonna go again. "NO NO I DONT WNAAN GO AGAIN NO I DONT WANNA GO!!!"
We get off the ride and i mentally died. But 20 mins later i stopped crying and i got chocolate ice cream as we continued to walk around the park.
Although verbolten somewhat truamatised me, it at the same time has peaked my intrest. "What was that place that the coaster went through?" I wondered. So nights later me and my dad would watch pov verbolten videos on youtube from the classic year of 2014
(which is the year i got scared from verbolten in)
And it intrested me. I instantly fell in love with the themeing and the asthetic of the black forrest and how the themes switch depending on when you ride it. But as much as i always wnated to ride it again, i never got the guts to ride it again beacuse i rmeembered how intensely forcful and windy it was. I also discivered there was a part where the track actually droped from the description my dad told me with his experience on it with me and i was like "WHAT?!?! WHERE?!?!" And thats how i became a coasyer enthusiest without riding any legitiment rollerocoasters.
In november of 2021 i rode InvadR and it grew in me over time. And then DarKoaster which i a month or two after it opened and its already sorta boring.
I've been prepping myself up to prepare for all the forceful turns and the wind. I rode the swing ride right next to veebikten to witstand g forces. I rode darkaoster and InvadR to get used to the general layout of rollercoasters. And then late 2023 i made a final decision i would ride verbolten once again in febuary of 2024 sometime before my dental apointment to get my fillings. It was originally the 2nd but had to be noved to the 3rd because dad figured we had more time on a saturday.
We were at vusch gardens and i was for some reason not as nervous as i thought i would be, although i was still somewhat terrified.
(Also i have watched pov videos about verbolten over the years and was fully aware that some of the decor has beeb removed unfortuenently, but at least i would feel the same wind and g force sensations and very forcful moments of the unknown. Well, it wasnt unknown now because i studied the layout by this point and knew exactly what turns happen when on the ride.
So we get on the red car and only 3 trains were opperating. I quockly forced the lap bar onto me so i would lock myself in before i would even think about escaping. My dad sat next to me in the very same seating position and probably row we were in nearly 10 years ago.
I was cluthing onto the bar and we make the clam turns and i see the tunnel. I yelled out loud "PREPARE TO LAUNCH IN 3... 2... 1..." And we darted inside
".... wait... something's not right. I imedently felt that the forces and wind wasnt as intense as i remembered it. Where was the feeling if being sent through a vortex? This doesn't feel that much more intense than invadR." I wondered in my mind. I was nervous about the helix because i always heard that people grayout on that thing so i took slow clam deep breaths as we went around the suprisingly not as forcful as i predicted helix. I'm not sure if this is what graying out is but all i felt was the same sensation you get when standing up really fast when you first wake up and you get temporarly blinded and see blobby colors and feel woozy in your head and stuff in a very mild way. When we were on he first brakerun i was shocked that it wasnt nearly as intense as i remembered and the lack of themeing made it even less intense. I was preparing for the nost brutal expereinc eof my life and all i got was something midiocre. We were on the droptrack and we got the spirit theme. The audio played as normal. "You're lost" "stay away" "don't fall" is what i heared from the spirit's voice. And i was all preped for that drop track. When it dropped it wasnt as far of a fall as i thought, it felt like we only dropped like 5 feet and thats it. This was no drop tower. The spirit's face was a souless white unlike the vibrant green color seen in most other pov videos ive seen. The loud bang or scream was still there and we race up to the bridge. We dive down and we finsih back at the station. I wasnt scared by any of that in the slightest and it was honesyly kind of a disapointing experience. I expected the worst but all i got wa just a load of meh. "Have the launches lessened in intensity?" I thought in my mind. We get off the ride and my dad was proud of me for riding it and then he had to leave then pick me back up later when the park closed.
For the past few days and now, im still confused why it didnt feel as intense as it felt when i was 7. I was a pretty self aware and sentient kid back then and my intelligence and sense of direction and the way objects and forces feel on me hasnt evolved much simple because im literally the skinniest bitch alive. Like im literaly just bone.
I'm also not even sure if the ride was really that mediocre, or if im still traumatised deep inside to the point i became desensitised to the whole thing.
But overall while riding it, it felt like a weird lucid dream. All the track and objects inside felt differant in proportion than shown in the pov videos and differant to how i remembered it.
I rode verbolten over the course of that day and the next day on the 4th adding up to a total of 15 rides so far. I rode the front back middle and every other row.
Becauseonly 3 trains were running i could easily predict what theme i would get and always get it right. So i would activly either wait a few turns or hurry onto a ride im not suplosed to be on just as the gates are closing just to see how aged each theme has become.
After going through wolves again i noticed the eyes wernt working correctly. I also always rmeembered them being in front of the car where the spirit's face way rather than on the sides where those weird thingies. What are they even supposed to be? Lighting bolts? Trees? Hands? The walls of the inside of a cave? Yeah verbolten has very weird decorations that you just cant tell what some of them are even supposed to be. I felt really let doen when wolves really slacked on its effects because its the theme i got with my dad back when i was 7.
The whole feeling of riding verbilten again was this surreal feeling, like the height and size of everything was very differant than how i remembered it. It feels bigger but smaller at the same time.
P.S. had my dental apointment yestarday, it went smooth minus the fact one of the backsides of my teeth feel rought and u comfy :

I rode Verbolten when it first opened back in 2012 and it was phenomenal! It’s sad to hear that Busch Gardens is not up keeping the effects of this amazing rollercoaster. I do miss the Big Bad Wolf but this was a nice replacement. They just need to upkeep it.

Even though yeah Verbolten has lost a little luster, I have noticed at times, the ride itself has ran a bit faster. Maybe it’s me.

It's the worse roller coasters there the wloof was the best coaster they needed to get rid of it

Not trying to be rude. I’m just being honest. Whenever you say things in your videos…always research before man… don’t keep spreading false information in your videos. All of this stuff still exists but they just don’t keep up with it which is ridiculous. Also the themes are spirit, wolf, and storm (there’s no witch). Nice work man 😎. And also the whole park is continuously loosing its theming and not just the rides and coasters.
