- Welcome to a new week! I hope you guys are all okay. I know I haven't long since uploaded a grocery haul, but I am a couple of weeks behind and this one is Valentine's related in a way, so I figured I'd upload sooner rather than later. I hope you enjoy xxx
MEAL PLAN
FRI - Homemade Nando’s for us. Hot dogs for the kids.
SAT - Out at Hamilton

MON - swimming Sweet chilli chicken wraps with fries, salad and coleslaw
TUES - swimming Pancake Day - duck pancakes, and pancakes for dessert
WEDS - Valentine’s Day - will probably get the Waitrose meal for two for us two. And then do the kids a Valentine’s platter
THURS - Grandad’s funeral - so to alleviate pressure, I am keeping this open and it may be we just stick a pizza in or something along those lines.

I'm a 35 year-old mum of three, who lives in Cheshire, in the UK, and this is my small part of the online world, where I share parts of my life - whether that's the day-to-day stuff, motherhood, recipes, or all that other stuff that makes me, me. I'm married to Mark, who is honestly my best mate, and we have three children, Bill, Daisy and Stanley, and they seem to be growing up so darn fast these days. We have a golden retriever called Merlin, and two cats called Romeo and Elsa and...hang on, this is sounding a bit like a kid's essay at school isn't it? Sorry about that! I have the tendency to ramble a bit. Life did not go to plan for me, but I am very grateful for that, otherwise I wouldn't be where I am today.
As for this channel, you might find everything from food videos, clothing hauls, home updates, vlogs now and again, and some topics close to my heart, such as coparenting, mental health, hearing loss and Stickler Syndrome too. I am a very average mum, but I try my absolute best at whatever I do, and hopefully you enjoy following along!

Definately cur yourself some slack for the kids teas (ive been there), they could have a toastie/quick quesadilla, omlette, anything on toast, anything they can grab themselves for one night a week x
Funerals are sad in the service but the get togethers after are full of laughter of good memories etc I find a slow cooker ham works well on the day so those who are hungry can have something easy like ham egg & oven chips or part baked crusty bead butties . You might not have a appetite but Mark & the kids will you are a lucky girl to have had 36 years of a loving grandad both of mine passed away before I was two so I feel like I never knew them . Xx
Thanks Jo. I appreciate the advice. We have left it open and Mark's going to sort it. I think you're right as I don't think I will have much of an appetite as it's been a bit off recently anyway. And I have been so lucky - they all mean the world to me. xx
Thinking of you for Thursday Charlotte. If you feel up to it might be a nice idea to go for a low key meal out maybe with the kids, to celebrate Grandads life with them. Maybe something simple like good old pizza express or something else local to you? Otherwise maybe some picky bits at home again to have with the kids to celebrate Grandad. But absolutely the best idea to just play that one by ear so there’s no added pressure to an emotional (and can be quite draining) day xx
I think a little picky tea would be nice, with plenty of cuddles on the sofa afterwards. My grandma on the other side is turning 80 soon, so we will be celebrating her at the weekend as well, and the kids are excited for a meal out with them and my parents too! Thanks for your advice. I really appreciate it. xx

Thinking off you .just rem the funeral will be filled with people who loved your grandad .and obviously a sad time but also a lot of love will be felt .which always comforted me and im sure it will you too .sending you and your family a big hug x
Thank you Marie. You know, I am really grateful that we do get to come together and comfort each other. I think it will mean the world to my Nanna and I really want her to feel loved and supported. I feel his loss every day, and I would do anything for one last hug. Thanks for your kindness. xx

Thinking of you for Thursday ❤If you’re feeling up to it I’d recommend considering going for a meal as a family that evening - as many of the family as can/feel able to go. Doesn’t need to be anything fancy, but it can be a really lovely way to decompress and debrief from the day of a family funeral, and celebrate your Grandad’s life a wee bit more with just those closest to you/ that were closest to him. Obviously honorary family can be counted in that too and often have been in my experience. Sending hugs ❤
On a different note, thanks for the duck pancakes idea for Tuesday! Don’t know why this had never occurred to me 😅
Thanks lovely. We are heading to a place that does a carvery type thing in the afternoon, as my grandad enjoyed that a lot before he died. Hopefully it will be full of family and friends and we can come together and really support my Nanna, who needs us. So that's where we will be until it's time to collect the little two. And no problem! I hope you managed to get your duck pancakes! xx
Unfortunately those duck pancakes use duck from Thailand which is quite misleading considering they state their ducks are from Norfolk 🤨

You're both right, it's from Thailand (on tesco website) but also red tractor certified (packed in the UK to a high standard)
They are most definitely from Thailand which is not a problem but people associate their products with Norfolk raised ducks not ducks flown from the other side of the planet with questionable husbandry.
Thinking of you for Thursday. Just get a McDonald’s or fish and chips or anything that you fancy at the time if it’s needed. X
Mark's taking over and he's said he's going to get whatever we fancy and cover the school runs too, so I am glad I can just feel however I need to. Plus, if it's something like McDonald's for the kids, I know they will be happy, which makes me feel a bit better too. Might suggest that to him! Thanks Emma. xx

I watch this when i did my shopping to steal your ideas, then i see all your heslthy stuff...and im not too good in comparison lol, i kinda throw it all together? I mean meal planning can be hard right especially online where they dont always bring everything and throw your ideas in the air

Anyone making comments about doing nice things for your children should be ashamed. Even if Bill was 30, he'd still be your baby, and you'd rightly want to spoil him xx
Thank you Charlotte. I am really ready now for a proper chance to say goodbye, but also quite nervous too. I want to be strong for my family, especially having Bill there, but I think it'll be emotional. And thank you also about the food comments - I get bored of them for the most part now, but my spam section is often full of people having a dig and I won't ever understand it. xx
Yeh I don't get them ppl who feel a need to be mean...if I have a bad day, instead of going on yt to bitch, I just keep quiet and say nothing in the comments instead haha
