Interfacing sewing machine foot pedal with microcontroller
I had an extra sewing machine foot pedal, which I wanted to use in my electronics projects. Instead of old dimmer-style foot pedal, it is version which is basically just a variable resistor and can be used in low voltage circuits.
In this video I demonstrate how to read the pedal position and detect short circuit, open circuit and unplugged connector in foot pedal circuit.
I used this to add ATTINY85 SUPPORT ON ARDUINO IDE:
