I thought I loved Apocalyptica when this album first came out... but the End of Me trilogy hits differently once you've experienced the exact dynamic they're singing about. Deep on a level you can only understand if you've loved an addict, given everything you had to save them, only to watch them slowly slip away and choose the addiction over you-over life, over themselves- time after time.
