I am a ford salesman, they never told me about the trunk part of the code, just that holding 3-4 unlocks the other doors. I just tried 5-6 on my 08 fusion and if worked! I told my boss and he said bullshit, then I showed him on a new one and he said fuck dude it's in none of the teaching material they give us.

this is my second Fusion and I did not know about any of these options. I'm particularly happy to learn about the factory code, this one is a company car and we don't have the code anymore. As soon as I can find the other key I'm going to give that a try. also, I have a 2014 SE model and the windows tricky show that works on that model.

Cool feature #6. Leave a key in the slot inside the arm rest, exit the car and lock it with the door lock button in the drivers door. Very useful for leaving your car at the airport for someone else to pickup for you. Just give them the door unlock code to enter and they have the key to start it.
If the key is not in that slot the car won’t lock.

1 - 1:10 (Code on side of door, hold 5 and 6 and trunk pops)
2 - 3:38 (if you forget your 5 digit code, how to show it on the dash)
3 - 6:20 (Bring keys down with key fob and raise them as well)
4 - 8:00 (...Use voice commands for gps?)
5 - 10:00 ( Lock doors with the sensor on handle)

  • @pbbeck01
    @pbbeck01 Před 7 lety +12

The factory lock code is also printed on a decal on the fuse box located under the dash in the footwell on the driver's side. Way easier than fumbling with keys.

If the batteries in your key fob dies, your car won't open or start, but you can pull out a key from it by pulling on the chrome rectangular key ring on its base. That key will open the car door if you pull off the plastic cover from where a regular door lock on a car is (to the right of the door handle.) Once you're inside, you can pull off the start/stop button and reveal a normal key hole for the engine start. Use your key in that to start the car until you get the batteries replaced.

Another tip for the keyless entry system: You can set up to five different codes to use on the keypad, but I have found that the first three connect with the seat memory for the driver seat. E.G. if you put in code #2, the seat begins moving to memory #2. Code #1, seat memory #1. I thought this was cool, but I don't see why anyone would use it.

Another really important thing, with the Titanium cars at least, is that there is no back up key slot to start the car. That slot you put the fob in down in the console is a coil and will power the fob so that you can drive even if the fob is dead or not working properly. The little metal key will only open the door after you pop the cover off.

Just because you asked, I did know all of these things! Global open is across all Fusions regardless of trim. It was offered in the previous Fusion as well starting in the late 2010 models I believe.
A couple things I can think of that others might not know are:
Engineering Test Mode. Hold the "OK" button on the left steering while D pad while starting the car. The instrument panel will go into engineering test mode. On the telltale test screen, next to the fog light indicator is an amber symbol that looks like the fog light one but backwards. This is the rear fog light indicator for Mondeos.
MFT Test Mode. Hold the right seek and CD Eject button together for 5 seconds to enter test mode.

Finally out of frustration I tried with buttons forward. It freaken worked that time. So if anyone is here looking for correct procedure and code doesn't display try with both fobs button forward one more time.

Yep it works well. Had to do it a second time. I'm new to the 2016 Fusion Titanium 2.0 Eco Boost. I was involved in a Wreck in my 2013 Fusion SE Eco Boost one month ago, some dude, an Indian Man turned left right in front of me while I was traveling about 45 MPH on an expressway, in Fremont, California. My insurance have totaled out the 2013 Fusion. I had to get me another one because I really love these cars. So now my 2016 is in new condition and runs very well, A Honda Accord tried to take me by he was a bit too slow. Tried it again and still was not enough power to get next to me. The Fusions are a great build. Love my new Titanium Trim Vs. the SE Trim. I got Pictures of the wreck. I was not hurt at all in the wreck. Just only some stiffness. But all of the Air Bags and curtain Bags came out one bag didn't deploy due to there was no passenger in the car. My Next Fusion is going to be the Sport one with all of that horsepower.

Brought it to a local Ford Dealer in CT and they wanted to give me the "special price of $60" to hook up the car to read the factory keyless entry code. BS, the 2 keys, on off worked no problem. Don't be scammed, I knew they were full of it. I feel like a tried that window feature before but must had done it improperly, it worked and I don't have a Titanium. I have a 2015 Lincoln MKZ, which is just the Lincoln version of the fusion. Something extra about locking the doors. If you leave your key fob in the car, the doors will not lock using the sensor on the door handle as a safety feature, but if you intend to leave it in there, the 7-8 and 9-0 combo does work. Just be sure you remember your door code to get it open. I used to use the feature when I went to the gym and didn't want to take anything in my pockets in.

Ok I have to reply since some ppl don’t have both keys or have replaced with aftermarket. Your factory code may also be on a sticker under your glove compartment why in the back look hard.

What about opening the driver's door with the actual key? We found out the hard way about opening the driver's door "manually", or using the actual key. Our battery died completely, and we could not get into the car at all because the key fob or door keypad could not unlock the electronic door locks. Even the tow truck guy couldn't figure out how to get in, and ended up opening the door with a wedge and tool. Anyways, next to the driver's door is a decorative cover that hides the key hole. On the bottom is a spot to put a key in to pop off the cover, and then you can unlock the door with the key. We love our Fusion so far, but things like this are going to take a while to learn!

I've had my Fusion for over 2 years and didn't know all 5 tips. The one I liked the best was how to get the 5 digit code. The voice activated search was great. The pop the trunk and roll down the windows features are neat to know. The last tip, locking the doors, I did know. Thanks for the info. Great to know.

the window feature is standard on all model fusions "s" to "titanium" 2013 or newer. While you are putting the windows up or down hit the button again to stop them. I use when it hot out to just crack the windows after forgetting I was in ac.

If you don't have a second key to get your door code bc you've bought it used you can get your door code under your driver's side dash on a white sticker. It's tricky getting into a position in the floor board where you can see it clearly but it's there and will save you the cost of taking it to the Ford dealership. I have a 2011 and a 2016 Ford Fusion and this little trick worked on both.

It may be worth mentioning that I attempted the key code recovery method you mention here while listening to this video through the car's bluetooth connection, and it prevented it from working for whatever reason. Had to turn off the radio.

Loved info; didn't get code when I bought the 2016 used, so how to get that info was great to know; my windows were down one day when I came out to leave and it happened again and I had no idea how that happened so THANK YOU for that info; didn't know about using the door handles to open/lock the car didn't know about opening the trunk with the code; and didn't know about the navigation system being used to find places to eat or go, so I learned 5/5 tips😀
