Sweet Maggie was really watching the baby bunnies! Love that you guys have your heart open to nurture nature ❤️. Sorry they passed but God knows you tried! I cared for a hummingbird with a broken wing 2 years ago. He held on for a month, sometimes I wish I wouldn't have found him because it was heartbreaking. Other times I'm thankful for that time with him. I invite them to my place so I better take the bad with the good, right? Like you I tried to find a rehab for him but no one does that around my area. I think he was happier here than somewhere else anyway. I kept him indoors at night in a warm area of the house and had him outdoors during the day in hopes that he would catch some gnats for protein. It worked for a month. Whew... long story 😊. I love the two pieces of furniture put together and I love that you put them in your living room along with those amazing shutters. Your home is so special, I love all the beautiful treasures that are special, to me that makes the most special decor we have. I love your thrift haul, that tobacco box was so unique and wonderful, and that thermos combo was dreamy. I've seen the bag but no thermos inside, you really scored with that one. Love the gallery wall and the empty frames look great until you find the right pieces. I was so sad to learn the babies didn't make it, but what a blessing for sure to have had the chance to comfort them. The letters from your dad when he was in Korea are such a treasure, all of those old letters are wonderful! It's so cool you have so many written sentimental things, there's something about seeing someone's handwriting that makes me feel so connected to them!
I agree! I’ve always loved reading them and then this week thought, why not have them out! I find myself reading a few often. I’ve even put them in chronological order and plan to binge read them to see if a story unfold that I haven’t heard before. ♥️🥰

Girl I was holding my breath til you got that shelf on the table😬 Lord you're like me, when I want something done, I don't want to wait & do my best to just do it myself. Which for me its not always the smartest thing to do🫣 Just please be careful lifting heavy or large pieces, I agree with Art we just don't want you to hurt yourself!! We love us some JoAnn😁 My daughter took a table, a bit longer than that one and chalk painted it & gave to me about a year ago. We had some pieces of furniture come in thru donations to the thrift store we had and there was a shelf piece that looked like it went on top of a cabinet, but the cabinet wasn't there. So I'm going to do the exact same thing, I'm going to paint the shelves to match that table & sit it on top. It is an open shelf piece with pretty wrought iron sides & its going to make quite a large piece, the size of a med size hutch. I just don't know if i should leave the iron part as is, its black.. or paint it white also🤔🤷♀️ I guess once we get moved & I start decorating I'll decide. I really want a hutch but this will work until i get one. And if I don't have enough cabinet space it'll come in really handy! Lol I course i hope to use it for more decorations than cabinet space, so hopefully there'll be plenty of cabinets🤞🏼 I'm Watching you paint so Art hasn't seen it at this point.. I'm guessing he's going to really like it! Michelle is a precious soul, i love her!!❤ That was so sweet of her! Girl if my doilies aren't stained or at least that creamy color, I'm going to stain them😄 don't care for the bright white either. i love buying all sizes of shelves to place all around on walls, or standing like you mentioned. So easy to find at the thrift & antique stores! I've started collecting the regency or Victorian era looking figurines because i just love anything with that look. But I also pick up some of the tiny porcelain or ceramic animal's when i find them at a reasonable price, just to stick in vignettes.. too cute!😊 Its funny how we think so much alike or like the same looks. I have a little double wood shelf that i have some smalls on..i have a tiny kitty that has on a floppy hat with has teeny pink roses on it, sitting between 2 little Victorian ladies that i just love so much, and some other pieces too of course. Can't wait to see how you end up styling the shelf & the little dog! And I'm always looking for & picking up anything old made of wood..i just have a thing for old wood pieces of all sizes! I'm looking for some more of the little drawers, and would love to have another antique tool box too!! Love the tobacco box, cool find! Leatherwood is actually a town in VA.. there's a Leatherwood plantation & Leatherwood creek too. Its right by Martinsville VA. I read something on the plantation once. How cool huh?! The box may be from a one of the gift stores there! They may have used the original box or wood to make this piece..i can see it in a gift store with goodies in it! I haven't bought any thermoses yet, i will eventually 🤷♀️ The lunch set Is a really cool find & great price too! Me too Joann..i love finding names & dates on pieces, little notes, personal things like that.. showing its been used, part of a story! Awww I'm so sorry about the bunnies sweetie, you guys were awesome for trying, i know you did all you could! My daughter found 3 baby squirrel in a nest that fell from a tree in the back yard.. she tried so hard to save them! 2 passed within a couple days & the last one made it for a little over 2wks, it broke her heart. Its hard to keep such tiny animals alive without the mom. Girlfriend the hutch looks beautiful! Bet Art likes it huh?! You'll have the room figured out by Christmas! Maybe you can put the table in the basement just got the holidays! Whichever way you change the room around will look beautiful. Buttt... you could just send me the hutch & dishes, and the extra rolling pins & anything else that's extra, then all problems are solved😂 jk It all looks good girlfriend! I'm obsessed with the bottom shelf on the hutch.. that's gorgeous! The fake marshmallows look so real.. so does the tin! I wish i was crafty I definitely make me a tin like that.. can't find nor afford the real one! Unless I get super lucky!🥴 love the butter pats/doll dishes in the new box! You could put a med sized tree/plant/topiary on top of the barrel to help fill in 🤷♀️ Maybe even an old bear or something in the chair. The plate wall will look awesome! Love what you did with the little shelf & tureens. I love the baking powder box!❤ I love amber glass too, looks really pretty in the curio. I have all sizes & colors of old hurricane lamps in my curio, quite a few belonged to my FIL. So cool you have those letters, so awesome! I've been looking for old letters to put on my little desk, i want an antique roll top eventually but anyway, i did find a couple letters & post cards someone sent their friend while in the military during WWII, and some old stamped envelopes..pretty cool. I wish so badly i had my parents & grandparents things from my childhood or before. I love what you did with the hutch you made, how you styled it & where you put it.. You’ll need to email me your address so I can send you some goodies! Art liked the hutch after I was done but he gave me a lecture in love on waiting for him next time😂 I like the tree idea! I bought some vintage tinsel trees in February for Christmas this year and I can’t wait to use them! I bet your self that you are going to sit on the table is going to be gorgeous! I know you’ll have it decorated so beautifully! I love hurricane lamps! I only have one and I’ve wanted to get a few more, I just get side tracked with my other wish list things lol. I’ve already changed a few things around and I’m on the hunt for another cabinet to match the other one to sit in the corner…but I do have my old dolls I’ve been wanting to have out so I just might put them in it until I find that cabinet! I believe God would want us to care for all of his creations especially when they are in need…we are called to love like He does so Art and I didn’t think twice about helping those precious bunnies. Maggie even seemed to understand that love and calling. We feel so blessed to have been given the opportunity to try and save them. Art and I believe they are back with their momma in a beautiful spot in Heaven. Your daughter must have gotten that same loving heart from you, I have no doubt that you’re a beautiful example of Gods love for your children and all who know you. Honestly I thought the shelf looked great when I saw the outside painted black and the inside was still white.
You know, I almost kept it that way. I have painted my other hutch in a two tone (many times) but struggle with making my vignettes work so I always go back to solid black😂 but I do like the way you think! ♥️🥰
