she´s someone special, in all her roles you can see an inner greatness so difficult to explain in words....even in the humblest.
Anybody would want to be her friend. So attractive
I love the English actors because of their modesty, they are great at their craft and yet so humble, and Emma is one powerful artist ,smart and joyful !
Her hair is beautiful here!
who gave her the right to look this stunning
God🤣
I was stunned by her performance in the film.
She was very good. Makes me cried when she cried
@@finelife6019 It's a gem of a film. The score is beautiful. I particularly love the end scene and the emotionally tense scene when she catches him reading a novel.
@@graybow2255 the book scene is riveting especially the part where mr. Stevens was looking at her so intently. I couldn’t decide if I love the movie or book more.
@@finelife6019 Exactly. I don't remember a scene where a possible kiss or love confession or gesture was so intensely resisted but could be "read". I read the novel about 10 years ago but my English then wasn't good enough to enjoy it, while I watched the film a couple of years ago.
If you liked this movie, then check out other Merchant Ivory films like Maurice and A Room With A View.
Those cheekbones are just the cheekboniest, she looks amazing
An extremely talented lady! Actor, writer, producer. All that and gorgeous beside.
Emma, you truly played Miss Kenton/Mrs Benn, so wonderfully well. Thankyou for showing us the glory of your talent's once again.
Her and Anthony Hopkins....pure magic....you see the English are not method actors but they too are truly great.
Anthony Hopkins is WELSH!😂
@@andiemorgan961 yes I should have said British.
@@andiemorgan961 I bet he has English heritage too
@@sametoyoutoo8509 Yes he could have.
Although Hopkins or Hopcyn is most common in Wales, it can also be an Irish and English patronymic surname and he could have English antecedants from other sides of his family.
He's definitely got Irish heritage on his mother's side, Muriel Yeats.
He is a distant relative to the famous Irish poet William Butler Yeats!
Emma Thompson has a close Scottish heritage.
Her mother, actress Phyllida Law, is Scottish.
I was born in Wales, Morgan is primarily considered a Welsh name but it also has Scottish and Irish roots and I have English ancestors!
Us Brits are a mixed breed bunch!🤣
She’s fuckin brilliant, and Remains of the Day is a masterpiece in my humble opinion.
OMG, she is so beautiful! ♥️
Her fierce intelligence shines through despite the daft first question.
Shes an attractive woman, great actress just masterful performance of hers in this film. Emma would have made a great Moneypenny in the 80s Dalton Bond movies, she could play that role with her eyes closed.
So intelligent.
We just love Emma!
Stunning as always !
lovely af! 💕😍
Although she is one of my favorite actresses, I've never considered Emma Thompson beautiful. But here she looks LOVELY!
+Andrea Majoros I being being too beautiful can be a distracting quality for a serious actress. I wish movies these days could place less emphasis on looks.
She looks gorgeous here, Emma has soft eyes and the big hair here, the volume I mean, very attractive.
Emma takes my breath away
Andrea Majoros Yes!!Absolutely!!!
Of course she is beautiful
I love Emma!!❤❤❤
Im 52 and have always thought Emma was beautiful. She is 64 today, but was just 34 when she made this movie, you know, 30 years ago! To me it still feels like this movie was maybe 10 years ago... cant believe how young she was (I was 22 at the time) and how long it has been.
It's just math I guess she was young and married to Kenneth Branagh then
I love her
One a my favorite actresses of all time. I swear she should a married Alan instead of that Rima lady. They were so compatible together 🥰R.I.P Alan!!!!
Very rude. Alan loves Rima very much and so does Emma and her husband
i love her performance with Kenneth Branagh
What a woman
Smart
I could see her producing, directing 🚴♂️
Oh Emma, if I were Stevens, my sense of duty would have been thrown out the window for you.
I never understood the difference between woman and lady...!
Now i know...!
what year is this?
1993
She is such a beautiful lady. Her accent turns me on. 🤭🤗
ELEANORR!!!!!
You'll get dreadful collywobbles!
16 hours a day, 6 days a week...
Look how attactive emma thompson was then...I would've said no to her back then...As a 16 year old anyway..lol....fantastic actress too...
Was she in love with Alan Rickman?
Weren't we all, dear?
@@wrmty56413 Here here.
Don't think so. She was married to Kenneth Branagh, but she met Greg Wise in 1995 when they were filming Sense and Sensibility and they're still together (and Ken was with Helena Bonham Carter after that..or before that).
As a Brit, it does get tiresome watching all these rather quaint films about upper class type people. Go watch the movie "Kes". There's the REAL Brits.
The film is centered around Mr. Stevens and Miss Kenton. They are working class. The film isn't quaint at all. It's about a butler who is exerting a massive amount of control over himself as to feel nothing. He tragically pushes away a woman who is attracted to him. His mind is obsessed with an abstract concept of complete servitude because his father infected him with it when he was a child. It's meaningless tradition that has no consideration for Stevens.
You know, like being a Manc.
Not to mention that the movie is like 23 years old, lol. So it's not like they made the movie last year.
Yes watch Kes, and your insomnia will be cured.
well originaly it is a novel
It represented a picture if a class of workers- butlers became a class if their own... they have more than 200 years now. Their devotion to duties was the call for the job
Katherine Hepburn? She was only good at playing one type of character.
