    Every time a new piece of shiny gear comes out, I feel frustrated that I can’t afford it. Then you remind me the power of the iPad. Respect sir. Thank you.

    Great retrospective of 2021 apps. Loved the witty chapter titles. Rymdigare is the one I use most for mangling field recordings and other environmental audio recordings. Going to check out Flux Mini.

    I’ve got some of those apps (the Fab Filter apps you featured, Kajita, Other Desert Cities, Flux Mini, Gatelab, Filterstep and Chowtapemodel) and I’ve used them a lot. I’ll take a look at the rest and you have good taste in apps.

    Utterly fantastic video Young sausage! There are actually quite a few apps here I don’t have. I am crazy for flux Mini though and Chow Tape is a stunner. The main thing I liked about this video though, was the awesome sounds you created with the apps

    Similar to the results you get w gatelab, filterlab, soundsaw, and shaper2, I think two of the most fun fx AU3’s out there are where you can get similar n far crazier fx (although often messier n sometimes too fun in the UI making it hard to show some restraint lol) are both made by SugarBytes and a few years old…Effectrix and Looperater. Both around $20 n iPAD only (OS X too but no iOS) They r crazy fun to work with

    OtherDesertCities in my Ipad can't create any sounds. Can this app alone create sounds? Do I need to connect my Ipad to another devices? Or I need to create sounds from another app first then somehow adjust those sounds with OtherDesertCities? I'm newbie, don't know any music creator software or devices

    Dude I love your stuff they are great. A question for you mate, I bought my first iPad "M1 256 GB 12.9 inch" just 7 days a go at first loved it but as a musician I find it limited and the apps are meh and it crashes a lot which is not suitable for live gigs or in fact at all, What's your opinion about Surface pro 8 as it can run conventional application "I am use Cubase the most" so I can use my plugins and other stuff with ease

    • @PoppaDocRocks
      @PoppaDocRocks Před 2 lety

      For live performance Cubasis might not be best option. I highly recommend you pop over to the Audiobus Forum to find a proper answer.

    • @OrafuDa
      @OrafuDa Před 2 lety +1

      That’s a really good question. Music making on iPads used to be quite stable, especially with AUv3 plugins. But unfortunately, Apple introduced an instability in iOS 14: for some people, the system forgets about the installed plugins at some point, and you either have to restart the iPad or wait a while. And a few apps are also less stable than others. You may be lucky though and never get the “forgotten AUv3s” problem.
      I have no experience with a Surface / Windows-based tablet. So I am unable to say whether it really is much more stable. Also haven’t seen people try that sort of solution yet. You may be breaking new ground for the community there.
      Music making on iPads has the advantage that many apps / plugins were written specifically for the iPad and for touch controls, and are easy to use on iPads, and tested to work with iPad resource limits etc. Not sure if you can get that on a Surface. But of course many app makers nowadays tend to have touch controls at least on their radar. (With a few exceptions.) - Also, I believe you can get many questions answered for iPad music making. Not sure if there is a good community for Surface music making. But I agree with the previous commenter that the forum at audiob.us/forum is a good place to start asking questions and finding answers, at least for the iPad.
      I will go out on a limb and say this: whichever system you use, it usually comes down to finding a combination of apps that work well and are stable for you. And another good idea is to have a second system that you can use while you reboot the first one. This is expensive (you need 2 tablets), but it can boost reliability quite a bit.
      And, btw, an M1 iPad at 12.9” is a really impressive machine. High power at relatively low power consumption, with a high quality display.
