ISTG, it feels like the nine realms just copied everything from HTTYD, except maybe the background settings since it's set wayyyyy in the future from HTTYD time.
But...
1. Boy befriends a dragon, better yet the first to befriend one, and it is the decendet of toothless (maybe).
2. the falling off cliff and being caught by the leg; falling down and get hit by huge object (tail/rock) and gets saved by dragon, dragon challenge stronger dragon to save boy (even the curl up pose is the same)
3. the iconic scene of touching the dragon's forehead, even their first meeting is practically the exact same. Seeing dragon attempt to smile and swallowing raw fish and give a awkward smile.
4. missing mother and reunited with dragon.
5. the little team, even their personallities are a copy of Hiccup's little team.

one was definitely drago bludvist, other one was probably Alvin Ig and I feel like the third one is Grimmel the Grisly.Vigo was also killed but it wasn't by Hiccup so I don't think that counts-

The skrill is probably from the past generation of httyd maybe a family member? Cuz even in httyd when we were first introduced to the skrill, we were told that dragons has the grudge in them forever
