She's brought the ART back into vocals that's been missing for god knows how long, she paints a masterpiece with THAT voice, she evens entertains me when she makes a mistake.
Let's set aside her talent. All of us know that she's a world-class vocalist. What makes Morissette endearing to us, is her passion for music and her appreciation for her fans. This a live stream and anything can happen. Even if there were miscues, it does not matter because she still nailed this song, entertained us and it even showcased her talents, singing and playing at the same time. ✌️
For me, she is the *BEST VOCALIST* on the planet as of the moment. 🔥🔥
She will be for a long time, because she is always getting better.

yeah that's one thing also. her *PRESENCE* and her *CONFIDENCE*
And on every note that she utilize, you can clearly hear the *"sureness"* to her voice there literally no sense of *doubt,* just pure confidence.
This is her way to practice piano and to provide her fans with daily dose of her music. She just enjoy singing. 🔥🏆🇵🇭🥰

Morissette did a few songs on this stream. She said she can’t read notes. That explains some of the missed keys on the piano. She is a true pure talent!
She is reading chords off her laptop, and she does have a small mixer there to add some reverb. During these livestreams, she takes requests, so they aren't rehearsed. She is one special talent, and such a bubbly and has fun doing these.

@@R.BB_yvr She didn't read notes she read chords. She is by far my most favorite vocalist.
Notes vs Cords -
A note is a single sound while a chord is a group of sounds played simultaneously.
Cords are easier to read and find the correct replacement because it's a pattern.
Notes require precision and are harder to quickly find since it's one key at a time.
I assume she only wanted to read cords because she's a vocalist and can practice singing without waiting for someone else to play.
Disclaimer - none of this i I know for a fact besides the definition and comparison between cords and notes.

Out of curiosity i rewatched both the offical music video and two live stage performances for a reference point. Leona Lewis is crazy talented so this is not a poke at her. My intention is to present what Morissette changed without critiquing Lewis.
The note 7:03 is sustained original it's about 1-2 seconds long. The run at the end that she redid multiple times sounded different than the original.
It sounded like it was an Ad-lib which shouldn't be attempted. Luckily the difference works because it ended up have a distinct sound intentional. Worked out well.

I'm not denying that it was a good attempt, especially singing it live (if it's been a while) cos it's a hard song. Add to that the fact that she was also playing while reading, she definitely proves how talented she is, no question.
But come on guys,... seriously....vocals alone, it's miles away from Leona's vocal capability. Her run from the top to the bottom was hitting a handful of the many notes that Leona hits, and it's not just about hitting notes it's also the fact that Leona has such a beautiful tone that stays beautiful even when she's belting, which is so hard to do even when you have a beautiful tone.
So, yeah hats off to Morissette. she did a great impromptu, all round performance,... but let's not blow the vocals out of proportion!

I prefer reverb on all power ballads. Her reverb is very tame compared to other popular vocalists with huge fanbase. Some seem to be marinating in reverb. This is just right. She would sound terrific without it but considering the reverb is part of the original it makes sense to do the same.
Just goes to show that even the best make mistakes, though some mistakes sound better than others. You would love Katrina Velarde's cover of "I Wanna Know What Love Is".

this song is one of my favorite songs from leona, for some reason this morissette cover is better to hear than the original version, the texture of her voice is rounder and clearer than leona, the way of singing, morissette's technique and control is very good, the run and transitions are also good..
