I am so much enjoying the friendship between Garcelle and Sutton. They may have been thrown together by necessity but it works. It reminds me of the formative years of Housewives franchises when the women had a natural rapport in their friendship duos. These days most friendships on these shows read as power plays to create completely unnatural, transactional, inorganic relationship dynamics & storylines.

Honestly Crystal is pissing me off this season. I don’t know if she doesn’t understand what racism is or if she is just a liar. But this is the definition of gaslighting. And I am tired of Erika comparing her situation to Crystal’s. It is not the same thing Erika. You were spending the money of victims or orphans which is against the law. From what I can understand of Crystal, it’s only right if it’s right in her eyes. She didn’t believe what Sutton said was ‘enough’ but who is she to dictate what is ‘good enough’? I understand that racism shouldn’t exist (being of Asian descent I completely agree) however nothing of what Sutton said deserved a label of ‘racist’. She brought the race card ino the conversation then said that she doesn’t want to talk about it but is adamant that only her perspective is right. I’m just confused about what she wants right now

Omg, fudge off Chrystal with the "you need to do more". What Sutton is doing - being conscious of her biases and being around people who are different to her in more ways than one, are absolutely enough to be culturally & socially responsive. She doesn't need do more, Chrystal needs to do less!
Crystal* needs to go. And it's clear on that show that the only reason she feels insecure is because she never has a storyline... She's just not right for the show. And and she always wants to play the victim.

But you have to also consider that she is/has been continuously confronted by the ladies especially Rinna & Chrystal who seem determined to flog a dead horse for screen time. But I find her growth - which is NOT a linear progression - much more interesting to view than the same formula that Rinna plays in every season and Chrystal never letting things go when she said she would. It's dull and pedantic.

Oh gosh, I love this two. I also love Crystal, and I rhink that is a total misunderstanding between Crystal and Sutton. Let's be honest, Sutton may be a little tone deaf regarding race issues. I don't think at all that she's racist, is that she's just a privileged rich white Southern woman, so she have never had to question such things. Therefore, her posture towards the topic seem a bit outdated (like when she said that she didn't see color. Girl, that's nineties bullshit). Now, in Beverly Hills, she's facing a more complex and diverse reality, and she's trying to keep up, although still has work to do. You know , saying that your kid shares a pool with a black and irish person doesn't solve the problem. That's what I think that Crystal is pointing out, that, although it is a start, there's a lot of work to do there yet. Crystal is non-white, so she is much more aware of racism. In conclusion: Sutton could do much more to educate herself, and Crystal had a poor choice of word when she said that it was "something dark". I love them both, as long as Garcelle. The three are bringing a new breath of fresh air to the show and I couldn't enjoy they more than when scalping the old Four Fox Force. Chile.

So much struck me w this scene.
First off the freedom of Sutton, of privileged white women in general. Here you have the black woman dressed to the 9’s showing ultimate grace and decorum and then you have Sutton using chopsticks and looking disheveled. Even looking and acting this way she still belongs, whereas Garcille has to be the epitome of class to get a seat at the table.
The next thing I noticed was how she went to get clarity from another woman of color. I totally see what the other woman of dolor was saying. She is saying that tho you have great intentions and it’s beautiful to see the United Nations of Benetton in ur jacuzzi just that does not erase racism or Systems that are in place to perpetuate it. Having black friends is not enough boo. It’s about helping to dismantle the system of oppression.
But alas she will never get that and so she is now seen as a victim as per usual while the woman of color is seen as a bully 🧐. By the looks of this comment section it seems many others don’t get it either.
